£900 GCB ? Did I miss something somewhere?
February 3, 2020 at 3:35 pm in reply to: New Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet: UK prices and specs #105064Doesn’t say whether it’s folding hard top or fabric. I like the idea of convertible SUV s, purely because I love roof down but can’t get/out of a conventional ones these days!
If I ever have one though I’d want folding metal, best of both worlds.
It’s predominantly safety and ancillaries. Every door now has to be full of electric motors and gubbins. They’re certainly not any bigger on the inside!
I don’t know what the reverse term of TARDIS is but that’s what modern cars are!
At the end of the day, Motability is a nothing but a very large fleet, it has the same bargaining power as other fleets. Granted APs might not be ultra low but that doesn’t mean the cars won’t be on the scheme.
What’s great about this is that it will increase demand but demand from canny fleet managers who want value and low running costs, demand is great for competition and nothing moves innovation on faster than competition. All those reps aren’t going to be allowed to b idle for hours charging, they’re going to be wanting range and fast charge times! Lol.
@BionicRusty , ahh the good ol’ spreadsheet. Glad I’m not the only one! Do you weight the various requirements as well? Lol.
Is this there smallest SUV now? Among to the Seat Arona? I can’t keep up! Looks nice though.
Just been reading up a bit on Hondas i-MMD, apparently this Jazz won’t have a gearbox, just direct drive. Definitely be interested!

Be interested in seeing the crosstar when next renewal comes round in ’22. We already know we’ll be downsizing from the Sharan then. Hondas use of CVT in the Jazz has always been an issue for me previously, but with a mostly electric drive train it’ll certainly warrant a second chance and try out, CVT might suit leccy more?
Now HERE’S a baby Alfa! ?
Oh I agree Brydo. However I think I will struggle to get in and out of that one, roofline too low I suspect.
I’d certainly be happy with a slightly smaller version but to drive myself.
Does not compute.
It’s lovely, but SUV? Really? It’s like “oh, SUVs are the big seller so we’ll create this sleek hatchback but raise it 30mm and call it an SUV!”
I am think Citroen do still tend to be vfm, but primarily because they discount often. I think they’d do better if they priced keenly from the out though.
I would have liked if he broke down the 2018 sales like he did the ’19 ones, down 2.4% overall maybe but suspect diesel were down higher and EV actually up?

It’s exactly like pretty much anything else in commerce.
Ya pays YOUR money and takes YOUR choice.
It’s a shame they used the Mustang name. Why do manufacturers keep doing this? It’s new and conceptually poles apart from a ‘stang, give it a modern name in keeping with it’s vision.
Ford Ohm or something! ?
Yes, Cardigan Tesco has four, they’re always either empty or occupied by a locals ICE car!
It’s ironic that Dacia has such competitively priced cars yet high APs. All about the depreciation and resale values!
December 28, 2019 at 2:53 pm in reply to: Industry Analysts Expect EV Sales To Soar In UK & EU Beginning In 2020 #101605I think the advances in battery and charging tech are really about to rocket, not least because the oil and energy big players are now getting in the game instead of just the small pioneers. They want to keep their pie!
I’m really hopeful that when my next change is due in ’22 that I’ll be able to go electric. The Kia Nero (or is it Hyundai Kona? Can’t remember!) already has real world capability of 200+ range, considering I’d do a journey that big or bigger two maybe three times a year?
With Ford’s history I would have thought so, maybe not the instant it comes out but won’t be long after.
When you see things like the new VW i-van (or whatever it’s called) being tried out then perhaps it’s not all bad news. SUV bubble will burst soon I reckon, people will begin to catch on that they’re just not as practical or big inside that their size implies. I’d like to see box style estate cars return but with the ride and access height of SUVs. I think electric vehicles ( as they progress and improve) will see more useful vehicles being built, also with frontal storage space as well as rear. Like the Bollinger EV.
December 20, 2019 at 3:37 pm in reply to: To Teapea, Bandit and Kev and any other petrol Sharan users. #100683Hi Wonky,
Sorry not reported on the shazza as yet, been a bit meh lately and just not had the focus, so it’s good you’ve prompted me in to action! Thanks.
2.0 td SE Nav DSG. Like the others, happy enough with the car, in driving terms doesn’t really feel much if any bigger than the Kuga, but oodles of space inside. G’kids love the sliding doors and boot space huge in 5 seat config.
Centre digital speedo readout (which I prefer to dials now after the Kuga) is annoyingly only in KMH! This, apparently, is because dial Speedo is only in MPH and EU law states both must always be visble. I soon remembered I had the same bugbear when I had the Golf. Stupid really because it would be so easy for them to make it configurable in the settings if they included an “inner” ring on the dial, like old fashioned actual Speedo! If you get the car reset to RoW you can choose is what I’ve been told.
Autohold I don’t mind/do mind in different situations. With no left arm to easily flick it on/off I tend to just leave on.
Lane assist got turned off! I drive rural roads, centre lines are crossed regularly!
Getting mid 40s mpg locally but avgd almost 50 on a recent longer trip, and that was A40 through Wales, not M’way.
I do find a lot of instrument reflection in the drivers window and remembered I found the same in the Golf. Can’t say it bothers me, just notice it more sometimes.
Oh and annoying that while the button’s there, no voice control. Needs a key code putting in at dealer to enable it and I’m not prepared to pay! Tbh, with Google assistant etc you can voice control you’re phone and stuff now anyway,.
She seems fine though, Germanically solid and dependable. Looking forward to slinging in all the cruise luggage with room to spare next year!
December 10, 2019 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Which system or app do you use most for navigation in your car? #99464Mostly it’s like Georgie, use my own built in navigation! But if required, usually in big urban areas I’ve no knowledge of, then if it’s got one I just use the inbuilt manufacturers one.
