So as our time with the Alhambra comes to an end. after much deliberation we have decided to go with the 5008 as our next family shuttle. I  have an appointment to complete paperwork on Tuesday and cant wait.

Just the colour is the issue 🙂

I love the pearlescent white as it is a little more matt than bright. I have never owned a white car before so perhaps it will be nice (or the reason I have never had one before)

Decided not to use our local dealer as when I asked the motability “specialist” if I could have and extended test drive to make sure its comfortable for more than just sitting in for 5 mins, His response was we only do accompanied test drives and for the maximum of 15 mins on a pre determined route. Really helpful 🙂

Just hope its not too long a wait for a factory order…….

If it’s anything like the Rifter you’ll be looking at 6 months+, I’m going down to Robins & Day in Sheffield on Monday to hopefully place an order for a Rifter depending on if he will agree to amend the AP should it go down in January, if not then I’ll be returning current car on Jan 30th and buying private.

I couldn’t even get to speak to local Motability rep in Wakefield Evans Halshaw after 7 attempts.

We are waiting on pearlecent white 5008 GT Line Premium to be delivered, ordered in July. Found out 2 weeks ago the dealer ordered the wrong car completely after going to see it. They ordered a solid white GT Line however they managed to find one that had just been built. Motability hired us a 5008 back in August and it’s been great, only broken down once ?

I’m putting the issues down to it being a hire car. The CV joint went as I was turning around (19plate 4000miles), the replacement one (69 plate 900 miles) has intermittent issues with the front crash sensor and a dodgy gear box that grinds going into 4th but they won’t change it.

Just glad we’re going for an automatic instead.

It’s a strange thing, the basics of the 5008 and 3008 are virtually identical but it seems that all the problems are appearing on the 5 and not the 3, weird!

The 3008 has its glitches too, but then again they’ve sold so many of both they’re bound to be a few bad ones. Electrical and gearbox faults seem common.
oddly the 3008 has more rear passenger headroom then the 5008. Even though the 5 is the bigger car.

Yeah I noticed that too, thought it was just the drugs at first.

I liked the 5008 and 3008 while I was looking but overall preferred the C5 Aircross.

well I ordered the 5008 yesterday. Was still very tempted by the C5 the dealer saying they had one in group stock I could have in a week 🙂 But the 5008 just had the edge enough for me to wait, Driving position was just a little more comfortable for me and its handy for the occasions of taking the kids and friends to football to have the extra kids. Apparently its frowned upon to put kids in the boot now…. they need seats??  Never did me any harm.

I ordered a Peugeot Rifter on Monday and the rep put 31st of May as expected delivery date, he did say it might be April but not holding out much hope, I don’t understand why it is going to take 6 months to build a car when there isn’t a huge queue of people rushing to order, he said I would probably be given a build week sometime in march so 4 months of absolutely nothing being done with the order, why?

My car is due to go back on the 30th of January so will be 4 month gap between cars.

Vinalspin, it’s possible the rifter isn’t a volume seller and they probably only tool up for them every so often. I had similar with the Sharan I’ve just taken delivery of.

You won’t have a gap per se, you’ll just stay in your current car and give it to your Pug dealer when you pick your rifter up.

I don’t really want to spend another 4-5 months in this with all it’s faults and doing 30mpg, I’ll hand it back and just use the other half’s DS4 till the new one arrives.

Plus I’ll have a few months money to save up.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>The 5008 has had a spec change in October so be sure to double check everything against what you ordered. Our GT Line Premium is now missing iCockpit Amplify!</p>

Ive booked my tucson in for a service next week, the garage is also a Peugeot so had a look around and tried getting a 508 as a courtesy car, lol I tried. Had a choice but could get the 5008 tucson hybrid or the ioniq electric which I fancied trying but No luck so opted for the Kona but concidering changing to the 3008 they offered now which look good too

we had a look at the 3008 as well. I did think it looks a little more sporty but the extra 20cm at the back with the 5008 does make enough of a difference for our needs. plus it comes with a nice selection of colours.

I loved the look of the 5008 not sure about the silver but liked the colours of the 3008 it’s what I first got offered as a courtesy car I think it was BigDave on here that pointed out obout vauxhall being high AP to favour Peugeot and I would agree they were really trying to push the 3008 and had loads in stock. I must admit I’ve not looked at Peugeot for many years and used to have a 308 so was very surprised to see this very impressing looking SUV. I’m thinking I may phone them tomorrow and see if I can change from the Kona to that. I really wanted the 5008 as a courtesy but alas it only seemed they had the one demonstrator I will try it on again Friday though lol
