It’s intresting reading some of the comments in regard to Hydrogen powered vehicles.
The same was siad about BEV’s back in the day, its only been through government actions that manufacturers have pursued BEV technology (BEV was the cheapest, quickest and easiest route for the industry to achieve zero emmsion vehicles) this has evolved to point where BEV’s are now ‘viable’ transport for some.
I could see a fairly rapid development of HFCV technology for the commercial vehicle market as there is no viable battery zero emmision alternative to fossil fuels for the foreseable future.
Thought I read on another post you had ordered a black Astra estate?
You pays you money and takes your chioce.
Dont why people rate VW that highly, must be the kudos of the badge.
I still don’t have a build date for my 5008 gt 1.6 but guessing coz I ordered Feb 2022 I’ll be lucky to get it before end of this year
Also disappointed Auto tailgate has been removed from spec as can’t stand up to close it
Yes would be a deal breaker for us if the auto tailgate was deleted from the spec
She’s just informed that she has handed the car back to the local VW Garage and has been told she will recieve the good condition bonus plus a % of the original AP back.
She said she had been advised that I need to call the garage and ask for a price, doesn’t seem any point now that its in the system as I expect I will be qouted full retial and if I am going to pay full retial then I would prefer to go hybrid or electic.
Just a quick one not sure if this is covered elsewhere did look but couldn’t find it if it is.
My mother in law currently/ had a mobility VW tiguan with only 6000 miles on the clock.
My wifes current mobility car is due to go back and the vehicle we are waiting for is now going to be 9 months at least from ordering to collecting.
So my mother in law thought it would be a good idea if we purchased the Tiguan as an alternative.
So my question would be what is the process if possible to buy from Mobility and is it worth it.
Ordered HS Exclusive In Jan, delivery changed again dealer now saying September.
Think we will be lucky if we get it this year.
Sounds like a good plan.
My only concern in these times of restricted supply, would be how long the salesman you dealt with has been with the dealership and are they the nominated motabilty specialist?
If not and depending on how the order has been processed by the salesmen dealer ( standard dealer stock / customer order etc) you may have an issue come August if the salesman has left and the car has not been properly allocated to yourself.
Hi Joesto,
Many thanks thought it would have a floor mounted one as its basically the same car as the Tucson just wanted to make sure rather than waste a journey to the dealership.
Many thanks
Did any of you nice people who have ordered / see or driven the Kia Sportage remember what type of accelerator pedal is fitted, Suspended or Organ/Bellows type?
Cheers

without seeing it and knowing the material it is hard to say, many cars have a flock material on the seat back if so then you could repair yourself using four stretch material and a tim of spray glue.
As someone else suggested might worth trying them you might be surprised.
My wife has the same issue with bellow type accelerator pedals, which tends to rule out many possibilities, she also needs a hoist for her motorisied wheel chair.
My wife settled on a MG HS which ticked all the boxes and has a ‘reasonable’ AP though reading posts on here it would seem MG are no longer taking orders so it will probably end up being removed from the scheme like so many others.
The chioce is limited at the moment and apart from the vehicles you mention the Grandland maybe worth a look it has a ‘low’ AP or maybe a Duster, it will as always depend on your indivdual needs as to what suits.
I was told the same April/May maybe theres a big shippy sailing this way from China full off them who knows, anyhow I am with you and wouldn’t be surprised if its later.
Having had both the MG HS Exclusive and Kuga ST Line (PHEV) on extended test drives I found the following:
Kuga went very well as you would expect, handling was sublime for an SUV could be confidently pushed into corners and was at home pushing hard on A roads.MG being the 1.5 petrol couldn’t compete on performace as you would expect, handling wasn’t as sharp as the kuga but would be more than accetable for the majority of drivers while the ride was better.
Fit and finish suprisingly the interior of the MG was in a different league nice soft touch materials, electric leather seats made you forget you were sitting in a ‘budget’ brand vehicle, the Kuga while nothing really wrong with the interior was full of cheap and hard plastics. Outside couldn’t really fault the MG either in terms of paint, panel shut lines while the doors had a solid germanic feel to them when shut, again nothing wrong with the Ford either in this area.
Equipment for the price even the top spec Vignale cannot complete with the HS Exclusive as some items you expect to be standard in a top of the range vehicle on the Ford are extra you want blind spot mirrors please pay an extra £1100 for the ‘pack’ etc.
All in all for the money the MG HS should be perfectly adequate transport for the 3yr duration of the lease as required adapted the MG comes in at just over £2000 AP, a similair Kuga with a similiar spec and adaptions is in the region of £5000.
