Done 30,000 miles now in my hs i tow a caravan with it. I am using the auto box my previous tow car was a Nissan xtrail and I would say its better than this equipment wise and comfort like the Nissan over 4rpm it is a little noisy but on uk roads very rare to get this high. I was given a hs phev has a courtesy car and was impressed with this 30 miles I got for a £1,65 charge at ikeas charging point. I have seen some with issues but drive it like it should be driven and the auto box is great speaking to my dealer a lot were gearing down at to higher revs and blowing the transmission this has been stopped from happening in new cars and many were recalled to have this has a software updateMay 17, 2021 at 7:11 am #148314Des
Good to hear a good report for the auto on this car. Would have been very popular if it weren’t for the problems with the auto gear box.May 17, 2021 at 7:28 am #148315Richard
I wonder if some of the issue were related to the differences in driving style China vs UK to some extent. Seems possible given the previous comment wonder if that was down to British drivers right foot compared to other markets. It’ll be interesting to see if now they’ve learnt there’ll be no further issues going forward.
Nice report too thanks. If the HS PHEV had been affordable I’d have considered it instead of the EVJune 6, 2021 at 8:07 am #154598JonnybonesParticipant
I have just done around 1000 miles in mine and I love it, In my opinion so much better than the BMW X1 it replaced.November 20, 2021 at 10:12 pm #169633Jack
They are crap on petrol don’t bother getting one get a skoda the mg struggle to do 30mpg and on a long run the max I have got out of it was 33.5 mpg and I do drive very economical I hate mine can’t stand it if someone wrote it off I would shake their hand, the worse car I have had in the last 10 years get one in the vw group stay away.November 21, 2021 at 9:23 am #169647vinalspinParticipant
The “VAG” Alhambra I had for 3 years a 2.0l diesel only managed 28mpg over 46,000 miles, not all they’re cracked up to be, vag are one of the biggest liars about economy out there!November 21, 2021 at 9:50 am #169650JonnybonesParticipant
You must be doing something wrong then Jack I get an average of 38mpg on my standard HS thats not in eco eitherNovember 21, 2021 at 4:05 pm #169678HarbParticipant

I’m torn now, was thinking of ordering this next week but now thinking I might switch back to the Toyota Ch-r as the mpg might tip in it’s favour.
It’s the HS usually around 30mpg? Seems pretty low to meNovember 21, 2021 at 4:53 pm #169688Karl
Getting 34ish around town, up to 40 on the motorway from my manual, not bad for its sizeNovember 21, 2021 at 9:48 pm #169706KirstymcParticipant
We just had one for a hire car whilst our car was getting serviced. It was driven 20 miles in total and we had to replace 7 litres of fuel. Never thought we would say give us our Peugeot back.November 22, 2021 at 11:00 am #169723vinalspinParticipant
Getting a hire car with a full to full fuel policy is not an accurate measure of how much fuel you use as people returning them (sometimes the hire company as well) don’t always full them to the brim, while the gauge might look full it could be up to a gallon short, otherwise using the figures you gave you are suggesting the car only managed just under 13 mpg, very doubtful.November 22, 2021 at 12:30 pm #169733Kirstymc
I’m just giving our opinion on the car. And yes the mileage and the amount of fuel used is correct so if it works out to 13 mpg then so be it. Won’t ever be on our list to choose, let’s put it that way.
