Typical DWP faux shock and surprise! They have been weaponised by this government for 10 years now and now employ the same sub human tactics on their own poor disabled employees as they do with disabled members of the public like ourselves. Are we really surprised?

I’ve been sick and disabled for long enough to remember when they treated us with at least some dignity and fairness and now look at it? Pure evil most of the time.

A new Outlander is due in September 2020 and new from the ground up which is a novelty for the Outlander as I think it’s just been revamps on what is essentially the same car for a good 6+ years. Probably the reason why the AP has come down for us in reality and we will probably start to see shortages more and more the closer we get to the new model.

Just wish it had been this price when I renewed last year as I’d have snapped their hand off at that price. It would have provided me with almost free motoring for a good 85% of my mileage. Hey ho.

Darn it, wish I knew about this. Just assumed that the Motability car had to be the tax exempt one.

Anybody know if you can swap it over mid lease? I’ve just paid 12 months road tax on my private car so wouldn’t be able to so it until next January at the earliest. By then my current Motability lease would have another 19 months to run.

Agreed, it’s the squeaky hinge that gets the oil. Seems they sit up and do something about it if you make a noise across social media only these days. Why? Because these companies care more about their public persona and ratings sadly and not so much about their actual customers. It’s all about the ratings.

I had problem a while back with GWR and trains constantly being allowed to leave the depot with no working toilets on my local line. Complaining directly was a complete and utter waste of time and just got unanswered. However, a GWR insider told me to forget about the official way as complaints just went into a black hole void and told me to plaster my gripes all over their Twitter feed asking should a disabled man with incontinence problems really have to wet himself because of GWR’s inability to ensure at least 1 working toilet on their trains? Got sorted out within a few hours of me doing that because the last thing GWR or any other company want is the whole www seeing what cr@p treatment they are offering their disabled customers.

Its sad when companies do not offer mutual respect and honesty in the times we live and sadly it seem to be the norm these days.

for me 10 days out of 14 its sat on the drive

Exactly the same here. Sometimes, when I’m really bad, the car might not move for two weeks or so. Does seem such a waste. I truly value the freedom that a Motability car offers me and couldn’t do without it but – It does seem such a waste that it is just a static exhibition piece for most of the time. Surely there has to be a better solution?

Cars are going up and up in price yet Motability’s stupid £30,000 price cap has still yet to keep pace. It’s highly frustrating to say the lease especially as this is a car that will meet a lot of customers criteria with it’s height and easy access.

It’s a shame it doesn’t have DAB but is that such a big deal really considering it does have Apple CarPlay & Android Auto so a piece of cake to simply use an app?

Re: Insurance – I’ve found the key is to take in your Motability insurance certificate when using a dealers courtesy car to ensure they put the car on Mota’s insurance instead of the dealers own insurance. As JS say’s, there is no excess above the usual amount on your Motability insurance but there will be (usually £1000) if the dealer puts it on theirs.
