@Mack2024 The leg room is limited in the rear, I’m 5’11” and have to have the seat nearly all the way back due to my disability I need to sit with my leg straight which doesn’t leave much room behind me, but my son who’s 5’10” sits behind me on many long trips and it isn’t the easiest to get in and out of the back due to the doors and door space not being the largest but once inside the car he’s fine. I raise the drivers seat so he can get his feet under it and he has no complaints the head room seems fine, but I’ve never sat in the back. I have no problems with head room with the the seat raised, but I’m in no way saying the car has lots of room.
I’ve had my I4 since 1st March 2024 and have driven over 27000 miles. Just like petrol or diesel your efficiency is governed by your driving style. If you put it in sport and floor it then you can get as low as 2 miles per kwh and if you take it easy you can get over 4 miles per kwh withouttrying. On long journeys travelling at 70/75 mph with 4 people plus luggage in the car I normally average between 220/240 miles on a full charge. However in normal city driving it’s between 200/220 and that’s enjoying the car, I don’t see the point in having an I4 and driving everywhere constantly looking at my miles per kwh. If I do need to charge I use Tesla superchargers which cost between 23 to 37 pence per kwh with a membership at £8.99 a month so it isn’t an issue, especially as virtually all my charging is at home for 7 pence per kwh. The savings I’ve made are astronomical, less than £5 for a full charge and over 200 miles. I’ve never driven a car before that I can throw around country lanes and it still only cost at most 4 pence a mile. I had twst drive in lots of ev’s before picking the I4 and non compared to the comfort and driving experience. I would definitely recommend the I4 to anyone, if due to their disability it’s suitable.
They ha e to give you a reasonable time frame ro collect the car, if it was registered on the 18th they should have contacted you before then. It’s not your fault they registered the car, they ahould have contacted you to make sure you could collect in February and if you couldn’t they should have held of registering it unti the 1st
The Tesla charging system works out the cheapest if you can plan around them. It can even work out cheaper if you have to go out of your way a bit to use one, as with membership you charge for around 30p per kwh compared with 75p/85p if you can do the whole journey using tesla it should cost you less than 10p per mile and that’s saying you only average 3 miles per kwh Don’t forget your first 200 miles will be charged at home so that part of your journey will cost 2.5p per mile. I’ve got an i4 and on long journeys with 4 people in the car with luggage doing 70 with heating/air con used as normal I average 3.8 miles per kwh.
People get to obsessed with how much it costs to charge at rapid chargers saying it’s cheaper to have a diesel, but you need to take into account all the driving you do throughout the rest of the year charging at home at 7.5p per kwh which averages less than 2.5p per mile so yiu need to look at the costs overall. I’ve driven 7100 miles in less than 4 months because you don’t have to worry about fuel costs. Last week I drove just under 500 mile for less than £11.00. If like most of us you need to stop quite often due to disability then as long as you plan well you only stop as much as you would on long journeys anyway. Also every time I’ve used tesla chargers there’s always been chargers available and I’ve never had to wait. Enjoy you trip.
@theo2017 The first time I used Tesla the £20 stayed on my statement from Friday until the Monday or Tuesday, I’ve since signed up for a month and used Tesla superchargers yesterday, I’ve just checked and the £20 authorisation fee isn’t showing, so it might not apply if you join up for discount. The money only stays as pending anyway. I can’t recommend Tesla supercharging enough, the difference in cost for rapid charging is crazy. Where else can you rapid charge for under 30 pence per Kwh
If you do enough miles, and most round trips are under 250 miles then EV is a no brainer. I save between £60 to £70 a week
Kezo, why have you rounded down the cost of a gallon of petrol yet rounded up the costs of electricity? I’d like to know where you can get a gallon of petrol or diesel for £6, yet you’ve added 33% to the cost of charging and 20% to the amount of charges.
Iv’e got one for my i4 but haven’t managed to fit it yet, it says you need WiFi connection but when it connects to the car it disconnects the phone from WiFi and stops android auto. If anyone’s got any advice on how to get around this it would be much appreciated
If it’s just a face lift and the model stays the same then it shouldn’t be an issue for example i4 sport eDrive 35 keeps the same model name and number then it’s no different to a car changing model year which doesn’t effect your order. It’s sounds more like BMW are just cancelling the orders or if its only happening to a few with cars on order, could it just be the dealerships taking Motability orders and changing the slot to a paying customer? I don’t know but just putting it out there

Williams give you a free BMW golf umbrella and this rather nice keyring
@Mm7 I called in when the car arrived at the dealership to make sure the seats were OK, as I’d been told they were the same as the car I’d had for a test drive but they didn’t have seat base angle adjustability, so I just asked rhen when I arranged a pickup date. Just asked when the dealership call to arrange collection, it shouldn’t be a problem and was free.
@Mm7 I asked the dealer to remove it, I want the edrive badge removing aswell but there was a misunderstanding. Apparently it comes off easily with a hairdryer and some dental floss

I’ve just done a trip to Anglesey 92 miles at motorway speeds, some 50 limits and averaged 4 mpkwh. Then 62 miles around Snowden which did involve some spirited driving and quite a few hills but somehow still managed 3.5 mpkwh so that’s 154 miles with 34% battery saying 82 miles. I’m more than happy with this, especially as the weather’s been awful, very windy. I think if you do a long trip motorway driving you can get 250/270. I also feel that the more I drive it the better the range, I don’t know why, may be because it’s getting a bit warmer. On normal town driving even in sport if I do 50 miles a day I’ll use between 20 and 25% but that’s driving the car however I want to, sport air con and getting everywhere 5 minutes faster than I should of. I know EV’s aren’t for everyone but there’re 4 22kwph chargers at the park where my caravan is so charging isn’t an issue.
The car was great around snowdonia, which made me smile
April 7, 2024 at 8:37 pm in reply to: A wee Sunday Evening Poll: To recover from all the daytime footie. #271927E, unfortunately, but I’d love to be proven wrong. It seems that some manufacturers or just certain cars never make it in the top trim, like most Nissans, but again they used to so who knows. I just feel that if they were going to add the S they would have already done so. Like others have mentioned the car I tested was an GT Line S AWD in white and it looked totally different different to GT Line and after test driving the S, I couldn’t bring myself to order the GT. Line without all thee extras of the S. Also the ap was £7000 at the time!
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I was toying with the idea of getting this, but I have 2 concerns – Is it any good as I’ve had cars with good acc and cars with really bad acc and my other worry is will it reduce efficiency on motorway driving?</p>
If you open the boot it’s at the bottom of the cubbyhole on the left, the plastic at the bottom lifts up and the locking nut tool and bar for towing are underneath. It was quite a search
The good thing about the car is you don’t need your phone with you to use Spotify as it has its own app. I tend to forget my phone quite often and if I’m only going out for a short trip it’s good not having to get out the car and go back inside to get it just to listen to music. I agree over the ride quality. I have some big long speed bums I have to travel over everyday and in the cla you had to literally crawl across them but in the i4 it just floats over them, if you give it a bit of gas, we’ll press the accelerator as you’re coming off them it levels the car and you hardly feel them. You get used to the turning circle, but it does catch you out at first especially reversing into a parking space.
The rear bumper of the car gets really dirty and when you use the screenwash because it’s on the wipers it can drip onto the drivers window. But if they’re the only quibbles I’ve got after over 3 weeks then I’m happy.
Congratulations Mikey, looks great.
