Does anything surprise you with this ridiculous government we have.
One thing I find ridiculous is the fact I can’t have another Enyaq Coupe yet I can have the identical ID5.
Make it make sense.
By jove, tosh.
I would say Vauxhall have only lost the plot recently since Stellantis took over. I had a 200bhp 2 litre GTC on the scheme a number of years ago and it was an excellent car.
Doesn’t change the fact that we’re starting to get some right rubbish added to the scheme these days.
So true @Glos Guy. The scheme is rapidly becoming a dumping ground for Far East rubbish.
You’ll love it. I’m getting around 220 miles range but bearing in mind I drive to work in the dark and return home in the dark. The journey also includes motorway driving.
The only thing I don’t like are the brakes, which for a car weighing so much are pretty pathetic.
Those Leapmotors get dreadful reviews.
The Alpine version is less than £300 per month to lease privately with £3500 ap.
There seems to be a lot of value with some lease companies lately.
January 17, 2026 at 12:24 pm in reply to: YouTube Bangernomics Video £300 a month in your pocket or new car #332396My father in law never spends more than £1k on a car.
His last one cost him £800. He ran it for 3 years with no problems then sold it for £600.
If I couldn’t charge at home, I would definitely go down the self charging hybrid route.
I’ve only had to charge once away from home when my charger was broken and all I can say is ouch.
I really don’t get this we don’t want EV’s agenda.
There are plenty of non EV cars on the scheme for those who still want them.
Personally, I love my EV and wouldn’t swap it. Fair enough, EV’s are not for everyone but if you have the facility to charge at home, they make perfect sense.
Nobody at this point in time is forcing anyone to drive an EV.
It’s crazy when the ID5 is still on but the Enyaq coupe isn’t.
This government really is bonkers.
It’s crackers when the Enyaq Coupe is banned but the ID5 isn’t.
Just shows how bonkers this government is.
I would be very careful of buying a Jaguar i-pace as there are many articles out there saying that some insurance companies won’t touch them with a bargepole and those that will are inserting various clauses like not covering the batteries etc.
There is a YouTube video which states the cars in question.
Not that I have anything to hide, but surely a taskforce of 80 is going to cost a pretty penny given Motability’s salary and benefits package.
At the end of the day it’s us that will be paying for this in our AP’s.
The e Outback is extremely powerful and fast.
The other issue with leasing privately is how fussy many of the companies are with charging for any little chip or minor mark.
Quite fussy. It could be a massive problem for the disabled who naturally will have bumps and scrapes getting in and out of their car.
When I leased privately, I took mine to a local cheap bodyshop who did what was necessary at reasonable cost.
The price point for the electric version is ridiculous given it costs less than £30k.
I was reading in Car Dealer magazine that some of the ousted manufacturers are absolutely livid and are considering a legal challenge. I don’t know if there’s any basis for this, but it just shows that the only winners are the haters of the Motability scheme.
If they clubbed together, their financial clout would make mincemeat of this labour government.
I’m sure between them they would be able to afford a better legal team than Starmer.
I don’t think this is over.
November 28, 2025 at 9:33 am in reply to: Luxury cars removed from Motability ahead of budget #318423I see the Enyak coupe has been removed, even though it’s not what I would call a coupe.
That means the ID5 is next then.
Well, one thing they could trim is the charity donations they make using our money.
Looks like Keir Starmer uses the forum, judging by this comment.
I would welcome anyone getting rid of this vile corrupt government, no matter who they are.
When I leased my BMW 4 series privately, I had a 30k per annum mileage allowance.
Motability could easily charge an extremely low amount for additional mileage if they’re being forced into reducing the allowance.
Elon Musk hates Labour. Maybe he would fund any court action taken against this disgusting government.
Why should this even bother our clueless government as they don’t stand to gain anything.
Back of a fag packet politics.
November 25, 2025 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Luxury cars removed from Motability ahead of budget #317968Just seen that total chunt Danny Kelly on TV. His take is that if a disabled person is able to save enough money to pay an AP, then should they be getting any form of disabled benefits.
It beggars belief that these people are allowed to spout the nonsense they do.
I just hope a few of these get to experience what we go through daily in the near future.
November 25, 2025 at 9:57 am in reply to: Luxury cars removed from Motability ahead of budget #317925It’s the no coupes or convertibles that seems the most hateful move to me.
It’s nothing more than pandering to the baying crowd who see disabled people as benefit grabbing scum.
The stupid thing about all of this is that it saves the taxpayer nothing.
