The e Outback is extremely powerful and fast.
The other issue with leasing privately is how fussy many of the companies are with charging for any little chip or minor mark.
Quite fussy. It could be a massive problem for the disabled who naturally will have bumps and scrapes getting in and out of their car.
When I leased privately, I took mine to a local cheap bodyshop who did what was necessary at reasonable cost.
The price point for the electric version is ridiculous given it costs less than £30k.
I was reading in Car Dealer magazine that some of the ousted manufacturers are absolutely livid and are considering a legal challenge. I don’t know if there’s any basis for this, but it just shows that the only winners are the haters of the Motability scheme.
If they clubbed together, their financial clout would make mincemeat of this labour government.
I’m sure between them they would be able to afford a better legal team than Starmer.
I don’t think this is over.
November 28, 2025 at 9:33 am in reply to: Luxury cars removed from Motability ahead of budget #318423I see the Enyak coupe has been removed, even though it’s not what I would call a coupe.
That means the ID5 is next then.
Well, one thing they could trim is the charity donations they make using our money.
Looks like Keir Starmer uses the forum, judging by this comment.
I would welcome anyone getting rid of this vile corrupt government, no matter who they are.
When I leased my BMW 4 series privately, I had a 30k per annum mileage allowance.
Motability could easily charge an extremely low amount for additional mileage if they’re being forced into reducing the allowance.
Elon Musk hates Labour. Maybe he would fund any court action taken against this disgusting government.
Why should this even bother our clueless government as they don’t stand to gain anything.
Back of a fag packet politics.
November 25, 2025 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Luxury cars removed from Motability ahead of budget #317968Just seen that total chunt Danny Kelly on TV. His take is that if a disabled person is able to save enough money to pay an AP, then should they be getting any form of disabled benefits.
It beggars belief that these people are allowed to spout the nonsense they do.
I just hope a few of these get to experience what we go through daily in the near future.
November 25, 2025 at 9:57 am in reply to: Luxury cars removed from Motability ahead of budget #317925It’s the no coupes or convertibles that seems the most hateful move to me.
It’s nothing more than pandering to the baying crowd who see disabled people as benefit grabbing scum.
The stupid thing about all of this is that it saves the taxpayer nothing.
One of my neighbours had the R version of this from brand new and had nothing but problems with it. Eventually he got rid.
November 14, 2025 at 10:18 am in reply to: EV’s to face congestion charge for first time, Sadiq Khan announces #317516So in other words, the charge has nothing to do with clean air and is just what we all thought all along.
Khan by the way drives around in a fleet of gas guzzling Range Rovers.
I would love one of these if they ever came on to the scheme.
An update on the 2nd charger. Ohme have said that National Grid are reviewing the situation due to carbon footprint regulations.
I can’t believe anyone takes net zero seriously.
@kezo that’s an X2 I could live with. My neighbour has got a 235i and it sounds lovely.
They get 5% vat when we charge as it is anyway.
This government are seriously lacking in the brain department and have no common sense whatsoever.
Calling her Rachel from accounts is mild compared to what I call her.
Sorry, forgot to post an update. The problem wasn’t the charger but was inside the outside electrical box. A component had failed and was getting worse as time went on. He said it was only a matter of time until it failed completely. Replaced the component and fingers crossed no problems since.
I would go back to BMW’s if the 2 litre petrol or diesel engines came back on the scheme.
@kezo I’ve had a call from Motability who have said the unit needs to be changed and they’ve authorised a second charger, seeing as we have 2 EV’s.
Yes, but as it keeps happening I hope they change the unit on Friday as I don’t trust it.
Just shows though that they could have sorted it days ago.
An update. I went outside and noticed the charger was lit up so thought I would plug one of the cars in. Low and behold it’s charging again. Somebody must have dialed in and got it working.
