Appreciate the quick response Glos Guy. Been advised by kwik fit that Monday is the earliest they can come to repair a puncture because it’s not an emergency, the car is outside my home. I can get my son in law to put the spare wheel on and take the puncture to ATS which is less than a mile away, but this costs me twenty pounds every time so I was just wondering if motability allow customers to use an alternative tyre company if kwik fit aren’t nearby ?. Thanks.
Hi Elrow,
I did have a look at the current Q3 and really liked the car, unfortunately I couldn’t justify the extra cost of £1395 for the technology pack to include heated seats and a reversing camera, both of which are a necessity for me.
Hope you enjoy your new car when it arrives, it’s a very good looking motor. Thanks for the advice guys, I’ve just phoned motability and they have logged the problem with the car and they are quite happy for me to hang on to the garage courtesy car, also if anything changes they’ll sort me a hire car from RAC, puts my mind a rest .
thanks Dave.
Thanks for that Joss, not too long to wait then, enjoy.
Hi joss, if you don’t mind me asking, did they give you any idea of the lead time “
Very disappointing that the Škoda Elroq with the Maxx pack has been taken off.
Thanks for the information Phaedra, I’ll give it some serious consideration.
I know everyone has different financial circumstances and good luck to those who can afford to pay high APs , personally I could not justify paying 7-8k AP plus full monthly payments for a vehicle I could never call mine, But as I say , each to their own.
Totally agree that MB could come up with help for customers who don’t have off street parking. If I could get help with the cost of something like the Kerbocharge system I would seriously consider taking the plunge on a EV.
May 19, 2024 at 3:30 pm in reply to: PPF New Sportage and that’s the dreaded ppf warning on. #277919I don’t know if Kia have solved this problem with the PPF, all I can add to this is that I’ve had my sportage GT Line S Hev since November 22. I’ve done 6000 miles of mainly short distance and the car has not missed a beat, no sign of a ppf problem yet fingers crossed and overall I’m very pleased with the car.
Totally agree with what glos guy says in regards to what it costs us over the lease period.
i have thought about going electric but as i have not got a driveway there is no help from motability to get a charge point. I believe that if motability want to push EVs then they need to look into helping customers with solutions such as kerbo charge , which would suit me perfectly as I’m sure it would many others. It’s not sour grapes but it does seem a bit unfair that there are solutions out there for home charging but no help unless you’re blessed with a driveway. Just saying.
Hi midge, I’m really pleased with the sportage, coming from a tiguan I find the car very quiet and pretty smooth, also plenty of speed when you put your foot down in sports mode.
I’m averaging 40 to 44 mpg at the moment, mostly journeys of 30 miles or less, haven’t done a long trip yet. I haven’t felt the need to adapt the car in any way as the inbuilt tech is amazing, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the car when you eventually get it , hopefully not to much longer to wait. That is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a new car, I ordered my sportage HEV gt line s in April 22 and received it in November 22.
I believe that the channel system where suitable is the way forward for people without a driveway, not having the ability to charge an electric car at home is a major issue and this system is one way to overcome this problem. Also can’t see a problem with motability installing a charger if you can get the channel installed privately or maybe they could help with the cost of that also ?.
Hi gilders, it seems like I’ve a lot to learn yet about all the tech embedded into this vehicle. That scenery mode sounds interesting, I haven’t found that yet ?.
Hi to everyone waiting for a new Sportage, I picked mine up on Tuesday after ordering on April 1st and I can honestly say the wait was worth it. Comparing it with the Tiguan I handed back which never missed a beat in the four years I had it, the GTLs HEV is a definite upgrade. The car drives extremely smoothly and the tech is amazing, I think it will take me some time to get my head around all of it lol. So hang on in there folks, you won’t be disappointed.
Ordered a hybrid gt line s 2wd in penta on April 1st. Had a call from dealer yesterday, car will be ready to pick up on Tuesday 29th. I’m well pleased and I hope you all won’t be waiting much longer for yours.
Same problem here, very annoying, started about a fortnight ago.
Thanks for the prompt replies guys, much appreciated.
Like Asc I have ordered exactly same spec sportage on the 1st April. Emailed dealer today for update, they said no specific date but Kia have assured them that the vehicle will be delivered some time this year. Probably another six months to wait.
The milford refineries have been closed for many years now, although the old Esso site is now a large LNG storage and distribution terminal.
Hi kezo, it’s on the southern side of the haven , the Pembroke side, the Milford refinery was Esso, and Amaco, . I worked on most of them in the 70s and 80s and I can tell you that the Valero site ( Texaco then ) was the coldest place to be on a winters day with the wind blowing right through you. I hated it lol. The money was good though.
Not quite correct there wigwam. The Valero refinery in Pembroke where I live still refine crude oil into many types of fuel including petrol and diesel.
Glad you got it sorted ?
Great news on the £50 rebate. Just updated my account with bank details and didn’t have any problems. Make sure you tick the check box as joss stated.
