Hi all,

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice,  my car has been in the garage for almost four weeks now with an electrical problem. The garage has been very good and loaned me a courtesy car which is fine,  I’d just like to know if this is standard procedure or should I contact motability regarding a hire car ?

just for information the car is a sportage and apparently there has been a water leak somewhere and water has entered the wiring harness and the garage is waiting for advise from Kia as they haven’t come across this before.

No problem with having a courtesy car of the dealer – in someways I find it easier and better than having a hire car. However, it’s probably worth letting Motabilty know there is a problem with your car, especially if it’s going to take sometime to fix.

1. Indeed let Motability know about the issue in case the issues will persist and you can use your timely communication as a leverage for early termination on mechanical grounds.

 

2. It is very kind of the garage to source you a vehicle. I assume you have no adaptations. Still I would ask for a hire vehicle from Motability – they work with Proximo.

Thanks for the advice guys,  I’ve just phoned motability and they have logged the problem with the car and they are quite happy for me to hang on to the garage courtesy car, also if anything changes they’ll sort me a hire car from RAC,  puts my mind a rest .
