      Evening 🙂

My eldest is over from Amsterdam, we were talking about trying to get a drive from my HA so I could change an electric car.  His partner was looking on the internet as he’d seen something in Amsterdam where the’s not a lot of houses with drives and found this, I wonder if Motability are aware of it or would be interested in supplying it?

      ChargeArm

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Checkout https://www.kerbocharge.com/ its a UK company which hides your charging cable in a channel in the pavement and is currently being piloted by the town of Milton Keynes’ council. Its somewhat more pleasing than rhe ChargeArm and the kids can’t swing on it lol. Either way its doubtful either would be covered by Motabily’s standard insatallation plus the requirement of planning permision . although an option worth to putting forward 🙂

          They are no donnert.

There are a lot of solutions, from the swinging arm, to charging stations rising up from the Kerb.

Where there is a will, there is a way….oh and money helps as well.

The other perhaps negative with ChargeArm is the majority of our pavements are tarmac and the need for machinery to relay it, may mean the chargearm will become a obstruction for any such works?

It’s not fitted to the pavement, it’s within the property boundary.  Or can be fitted to a vertical wall.

Sorry, what I meant to say is the overhanging arm may prevent pavement maintenance, unless the arm can be folded?

I believe that the channel system where suitable is the way forward for people without a driveway, not having the ability to charge an electric car at home is a major issue and this system is one way to overcome this problem. Also can’t see a problem with motability installing a charger if you can get the channel installed privately or maybe they could help with the cost of that also ?.

i think you will find the charge arm folds back into the upright pillar when not in use. so will be within the upright and on the users property completely.
