I’d say the dealer is being a tad picky. With all the profit MB are making, together with new charges for adaptations and increased AP’s, they’d be mad annoy customers further.
POPS You are correct about politicians not answering questions. Say what you want about the likes of Thatcher, Major, Blair and Brown. They all answered questions at PMQ’s. It’s too tribal and defensive these days, they just give an arrogant snappy response (yeah but if you were in power you’d have done this and that).
Just gone through an Asda order from February and compared a few items to todays prices.
6 Eggs £1.09 today £1.50
1 Pint milk 60p today 79p
Rice £1.50 today £1.85
Sausages £1.50 today £2.25
Potatoes £1.18 today £1.49
How the f@@k can they say inflation is only 10%! People are going to die from cold and starvation this winter.

While that is true and the spiel the retailers like to point out I can assure you they are having us over and more so the supermarkets than the premium retailers. If the supermarkets are ripping us off on their forecourts, there ripping us off in stores too and while inflation is running at 10% I’ve seen many, many prices in Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, to name a few who’s price have been increased well past the inflation rate. As an example milk has gone up another 10% this week on top of the 10% from 2 weeks ago and not to mention the 20% a month or so ago, same goes for bread with an increase of around 60%.
Everyone knows there are problems in the supply world but retailers are adding to it without a doubt and look out for the massive profits being reported next April.
Isn’t it funny that the Ukraine suddenly became the bread basket of the world five minutes after the Russian invaded while there one of the poorest country, if not the poorest in Europe.
Food price increases are ridiculous, I do an online shop at Asda and I can see my previous orders. Asda Extra Mature Cheddar at the beginning of the year was £2 today it’s £2.85. That’s a 42% increase in a matter of months!
I do love driving on the motorway at night listening to LBC talk radio. We visit Cornwall 4/5 times a year and always drive back through the night when the M5 and M6 are quiet. Quietest I’ve ever seen was 3am on Easter Monday, services were deserted, lovely.
I once got a local authority parking ticket overturned. I was parked in a loading bay with badge displayed, the loading bay stipulated 5 minutes only, got a ticket as I was there an hour. I found a really obscure court case where a disabled person successfully argued that it takes them more time to get their wheelchair out and set up, so the 5 minute rule was not in the spirit of the law. I appealed and quoted the case, the ticket was cancelled.

Loving the auto everything, after decades of driving aged manual transmission cars, and all the pull up handbrake stuff I’m simply not missing that at all.Yes, hill hold and auto break coming on when stopped at lights is great, but it’s even better for those who use hand controls, means you don’t need to keep the control pressed down.
It’s not just energy and supermarket prices that are increasing. We usually have a takeaway a couple of times a month. The price of our Chinese takeaway has been around £19 for a few years, in April it went up to £25. There was a sign in the takeaway explaining how the cost of meat has vastly increased and the gas for the burners had more than doubled. I think we’ll be knocking that on the head.
How does it work, do you need to stop at a dedicated booth and show the pass?
OMG what a coincidence, posted our application off on Tuesday. Not sure I’ll bother if it only lasts 12 months.
Skoda Octavia Estate Mild Hybrid. Love the looks of it, it’s our first estate. The mild hybrid system is good, it gives you a message on the dash to take your foot of the accelerator, the car then coasts using the battery, I love watching the MPG climbing towards 60 whilst the rev counter is at zero. Dislike the drivers seat, I’m forever twisting the wheel at the side to move the seat back forward, I’m sure it’s faulty.
We have the Skoda Octavia and had the exact same problem. We also had the double tap noise from the infotainment system. It would make a loud double popping noise and sometimes shut down. It went in a few months ago and it has not happened since.
Have a look at this.https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/495245-weird-clickingpopping-sound-o4-vrs-estate-petrol-dsg/
More chance of winning one on BOTB.
Regarding the NHS, the Tories paint a corridor and say they’ve built a new hospital.
As someone who would like to see a Labour government, Liz Truss doing well is a good thing. She’s continuity Boris, she’ll keep the same people around her, Mogg, Dorries, Patel and Williamson. She’s a Remainer/Brexiter , Tory/LibDem. She gets destroyed in any debate I’ve seen her take part in.
British Gas offered us a fixed tariff before our last fix ended last month. I decided not to fix as I’m thinking something will be done by the government regarding pricing, the projected increases in October and January as so extreme, people are going to be priced out of energy.
31c in car yesterday. I hate the heat, dreading Monday and Tuesday.
What about the weight of things like heated seats, add motorised adjustment and you’re talking a very heavy seat. What’s driving round with all these unused extras going to do for fuel efficiency? Remember the episode of Top Gear where they tune the Renault Avantime, taking the seats out made a difference.
My first thought, check the date, is it April?

I had this dilemma when my last Sky contract was up. I had the ability to get sports elsewhere but really like the Sky Q platform. I was thinking of a 4k freesat box as it could plug directly into current Sky Q dish. I did the maths, including paying for the new box and a decent VPN , I didn’t think it was worth the hassle. Got 58mb BB, Sky sports, movies, cinema, go, all channels bar kids and Ultra HD for around £59 a month.

Martin Lewis has sent me an email, seems energy prices are going up, up and away! They are changing the frequency of the price cap change from every six months to every three months so expect a change in January ’23 too. This is too scary, something has to be done.Something will be done, lots of people simply can’t afford to hear there homes. Think of a pensioner or someone on Universal Credit. It’s getting to a point where the energy bills will be 50% of their income.
I’m sure I read Sunak recently spent a week in the USA speaking with big health insurance firms. Will this lead to privatisation of the NHS? Is getting private firms involved with the NHS a bad thing? My GP already sends us to a private hospital for scans.
The one thing I do agree may be a positive for Motability customers, is inflation and cost of living. They’ll almost certainly be less retail customers with people feeling the pinch. Will this mean manufacturers flood back to Motability, hopefully!
