Hi Gamo This was also in the question I put to them, asking if anything would be done to make the replacement closer to the original spec (missing relax seats etc) I have had good think about this one, as much as I would have loved the relax seats etc, I’m not going to push it any if they confirm I’ll get the AWD with new tech pack. It is a bit rubbish we are getting slightly less nice things, but we are also getting a lot just going into the facelift, for me the rear wiper and new OS system with the revised console with shortcut buttons and bigger battery and heat pump are all such a big upgrade for me to accept the missing seats, if I had got the pre facelift I would have had no rear wiper or heat pump, the new OS if future proofing things ans the wireless CarPlay is a nice touch too I’ve came to this conclusion after reading all the Enyak debacle and now what’s been happening here with the Ioniq 5 What is clear is the lack power Motability have, with them being the larger fleet supplier now in the UK, they should make things clear to the manufacturers when there are updates and facelift due the customer must get clear communication and at least the spec they ordered or a FOC upgrade I’m hopping the others waiting for the AWD get confirmed too, it’s only Ianp at the moment who’s 100% confirmed, so will feel better once I hear the others are getting the same good news its been stressful, due to all the price increases in all the other alternatives I had on my list.
Yes I hear what you are saying. Hopefully you will get your confirmation ASAP.
@ianp That’s brilliant news. i managed to speak to the executive team at Hyundai yesterday as park of my complaint to the CEO the emailed me back to say it’s now been converted to MY25 due march for the colour i have choose on my order, they did say we would have priority on stock It’s now showing as MY25 on the Hyundai tracker was showing yesterday as MY24 and it now has a VIN allocated too, so something happening i email them today to confirm if this will be an AWD version, they have not come back a yet, but hopefully as you have had yours confirmed it will be AWD one thing they did say is Motability would be last to update their systems I guess they are waiting on the October update for the AWD variants that was due October as per the last comms that was posted. If you confirm it’s definitely 100% AWD I’ll make the decision to wait for the colour that I ordered or see what’s available from any stock in AWD will update as soon as I know all the best
its good to see that you are making progress with your order. Did you ask them about the missing items from the tech pack? or are you happy to accept the omissions??
Just been having a look at the specs Hyundai have published. I have a Ultimate+tech pack on order and it looks like the equivalent to that would be a 2525 Ultimate + tech max pack.
The Namsan looks like it would be and 2025 Ultimate + tech pack max + vision roof.
what’s interesting is both of these (when priced up in the configurator) are cheaper than the new N-Lins S trim which comes fully loaded (minus DSM but I don’t think you got these with recent Namsan orders).
Just a waiting game now but I got fingers crossed for an N-Line S

Looks like they all gone up about a grand. They also removed small battery and AWD models hopefully this means updated model is on its way…
New model has not even launched in the UK yet.
You are correct it has not but its rumoured to be imminent.
I must say I’m a bit disappointed ☹️. No new electric vehicles or manufacturers and prices on the whole have gone up, but on a positive, the Skoda Enyaq hasn’t changed and is a cracking deal.
The enyaq’s have also increased! think the sport line is up £800

Ioniq 5 Namsan RWD £3499 (-£2500)
managed to search these 2 but now the site is going crazy!

What in particular?
@kezo the steering wheel is the main thing. My mind won’t let me ignore the 2 spoke thing. But also the light coloured dash/infotainment surrounds. made it feel less premium in my opinion. Not to mention old fashion USB. made me feel like I was in a car from the “onesies”
You can get a black surround for the displays and a replacement black thing for the for the cloth bit on the end of the displays from ev-vida store. I did put a pic of it up for @MFillingham but. cant find it. Can’t help with steering wheel sorry.
Appreciate the suggestion but the steering wheel can’t be lived with.

@MFillingham I agree not terrible value. But the interior of the current I5 is not my cup of tea so I’m prepared to risk it all. Hopefully it pays off.
There is a lot of talk on many Ioniq 5 groups of the Namsan Edition being dropped, not sure whether that’ll be in the new facelift or prior to. I’m so glad I went big and got the top of the range, the sun roof alone makes it worth in when you’re not shutting out the rain. The heat pump meant we could travel at motorway speeds with the heating on or off and not really notice any difference in range or consumption. If you’re use to wireless CarPlay or AA, get an adaptor or you’ll soon lose your sense of fun with the long cable required. There’s a known fault for that USB socket and plugging in repeatedly can’t do that much good. Living in Cornwall, there’s probably 4 or 5 I5s in the county that I know of, when we went to Southampton there were plenty and we were still the only one with the DSM which has also been the talking point for so many conversations, whether it’s when we park, return to the car or are charging, there’s often someone trying to work out why the mirrors are so small.
Glad you are enjoying it Mark. there’s plenty of car there. I was torn between I5 and the Yaq back in October and ended up going with the Yaq because I wasn’t keen on the I5’s interior. But after the drama with the change over and the wait times and also with the issues @phaedra is having with his Advanced pack ect its put me off.
Hadn’t heard anything on the Namsan being dropped till you said but Im hoping that it will be replaced by the imminent N Line variant. Iv been browsing through the Korean Hyundai site trying to work out what spec we might get in UK. its looking like quite few features will be paid extras on all trims like the vision roof, integrated dash cam and the digital side and rear view mirrors but who knows what spec we will get over here.
For now im just gonna get a factory order in for a Namsan and see what happens when its conversion time. worst case ill be back to square one with no car and no idea what to buy again. Ideally id want a AWD N-Line with all the bells and whistles
I am really glad you are enjoying your I5 I have been following your journey and when I order mine I’m going for the same colour its so so nice, please keep us updated especially form a range POV. This is the first facelift the I5 will get, Its not just a MY update where there would be additions or trim changes. It’s a substantial update, with the larger battery, revised motors, suspension updates and vehicle OS system rear wiper, these changes alone are major for the I5 the cosmetic changes for the interior trim and exterior bumpers are minor to what’s happening, its been a much needed update for the vehicle. We have been able to order since September but I knew the update was coming so we have held off, the change over is now and vehicles are available to be ordered now in Korea, the UK spec will be finalised for May, but anything that’s already on order but not yet built will automatically be upgraded (hopefully not like the Enyaq fiasco). We are placing our order the end of the month Happy motoring.
I agree the Enyaq fiasco really stressed me out and made it less appealing.
I called my local Hyundai dealer yesterday and they said there were no dates yet and would PROBABLY would be available for ordering in Q3. I asked about production upgrades and they said it would be upgraded if the factory changed over production but there was no time frame and wouldn’t know what’s being built until 2025 models start to arrive in the uk.
They have said that there are long lead times on I5 orders but they seam to be catching up and COULD possibly be deliverd this side of the new year.
Think im going to order the Namsan now and hopefully it will be converted to 2025 and im also hoping the equivalent will be the N Line, but as long as the interior is 2025 I’ll be happy.
Anyone know whether the storage box on the floor behind centre console can removed, to make the floor flat at the rear?
pretty sure it is removable and it can be removed very quickly without tools.
Im seriously tempted to wait! This is looking like my favourite iteration of the MEB platform. But i have an Enyaq on order due in March and with all the ups and downs with it am i just pushing my luck by waiting….
Have been wondering weather i made the right decision in not getting the advanced pack so thanks for putting this up. Only really cared about the Canton system and if its not great its deffo not worth the upgrade.
Just seen they are listing the L&K model on the Skoda uk website available to order from 10th Jan. Doesn’t affect us on MB just yet but its interesting none the less.
December 23, 2023 at 12:12 pm in reply to: What would you like to see on 1st Jan / New Quarter #252137Id5 ?

looks like a more competitive AP from VW (compared to the id4 at least) hopefully this is a sign of things to come with all manufacturers.
@GAMO, I don’t think so. When the dealer told me previously that it would be an 85X that was his assumption based on the fact that the non-X isn’t available in the UK. I think it just stayed as an 80SL until it had been manufactured at which point it changed to 85SL. I think the Skoda stock locator is not always correct – does it list them as “available nationwide”? I’m not sure that means much aside from they are being manufactured.
Maybe the documents relates to orders that were placed before it was issued? Im not fussed either way as the only difference between the 85SL and 85xSL is the front motors which I don’t want/need. I ordered October 25th and the dealer has said on Skoda system its showing as a 85xSL even specified 4×4.
Could the nationwide thing be because dealers are ordering from central stock now?
Saw on another forum that there are 85 series vehicles available on the Skoda website. this include the 85 sport line plus checked and there are quite a few cars showing delivery within a few weeks.
@Nathan did yours change on the dealer system as an 85xSL before changing back to an 85SL?Just rang Motability, they say the price is correct and came from Skoda!! But, as my original AP is price protected I’ll only pay the £1749. They’re sending me a text to confirm this. Sounds wrong to me, I suspect someone has put the AP for the coupe in by mistake.
Great news about your order!
My MB account changed to the same i called the dealer and said it’s probably the coupe but he wasn’t concerned I was told not to worry and i would be charged as per the original agreement.
He did something his end and now it had reverted back to the original description (80 SL) and AP, and said Skoda are footing the bill of any change.
For you its the same price so even if you cancelled and reordered now it would be the same. My build date is not till week 11 so im waiting to see how much other 80SL-85xSL converts pay!
ill just leave this here in case anyones interested….

Motability’s answer: Morning Mark, No such thing as a silly question! I actually think it’s a really good question! Any optional extras that are offered and fitted by the manufacturer will still be covered by our insurance with Direct Line Motability. If you have any other insurance queries or want further information about our insurance, please don’t hesitate to contact Direct Line Motability on 0300 037 3737 who will be more than happy to help. They’re open Mon-Fri 8-7pm and Sat 8-4pm. Take care and enjoy your new vehicle when you get it! Ricky So, from the proverbial horses mouth, if it’s a factory fitted option, it’s covered.
Would probably be worth asking DL. They might have a different definition of ‘covered’
Check in here every day Why? Not to sure habit I suppose I have a nice car for the next 3 yrs Note to self Must get out more
Although im still waiting for my first scheme car to arrive, I am the same with checking in everyday.
Just in case @wmcforum suddenly announces the addition of the Ionic N or something similarly crazy haha
The motability website states

The car itself is covered in the sense that you have insurance and in the event of a fault claim DL may not pay out for the damages to these items. e.g. you have the advanced back and hit a lamppost damaging the Crystal grill they could say they will not pay out, or that they will only cover the cost of a standard grill. I guess this will come down to their discretion.
In the event event of a non fault claim, the third party insurance pays and DL should recover the cost to cover the modification from them.
As long as you have informed DL of the modification you are covered to drive with it but they may not pay out on it from their own pocket.
