I’ve currently got one on order to pick up in the next couple of weeks, I had 2 good test drives and it’s a really nice place to be, it’s comfortable and nice to drive, there is some hard scratchy plastics but it’s not a deal breaker.
I’ve previously had 2 skoda enyaqs (80 sportline and 85x sportline) which have both been classed as mechanical failures as skoda couldn’t fix, so the explorer is similar in some aspects.
I’ve gone for premium with driver assist pack in magnetic grey.
I’ve been really unlucky with Enyaqs. It’s a shame as it’s a good car when it works right. It suits our needs.
I’m currently deciding if i should stick with another EV and go for an Ioniq 5 or to get a plug-in hybrid tiguan.
I hope you have a better time if you go for the kona.
I need help picking a replacement car as motability has given me a technical termination as dealer can’t seem to get to the bottom of the issues with the Enyaq. I’ve got 3 months before the hire car goes back so that’s the timeframe I’ve to work to. Main thing is it must be reliable! I know you can get problems with ANY car but some seem to have more issues than others! On my shortlist is the electric Kona, electric Scenic ( heard they might have issues) qashqai epower. Like the look of the mini countryman and the Toyota CHR but can’t really justify the cost. If you had to choose what would you go for? Reliability and boot space for a wheelchair are important. Hire car is an electric Jeep Avenger which has been reliable and charging so much easier than the Enyaq but the boot is a tad small or that would have been a contender.
Like you I’m in a similar situation, I’m now on my second Enyaq, the 1st one was an 80 sportline which i had from August 23 till August 24, skoda couldn’t fix the car so motability terminated as mechanical failure and told me I could order again.
I decided lighting wouldn’t strike twice and manged to get an in stock 85x sportline plus which I picked up at the end if August 24, I knew the day i picked it up it wasn’t right, it was making an awful knocking noise from the rear, I booked it in but the earliest available slot was October, the dealer has had the car since and can’t fix it, so this one is getting rejected by motability too, in the next few weeks i can order another car but not sure where to turn.

I’m getting very similar figures to wigwam, says 27 miles on pure when full and managed 27 when being sensible, I’ve recently been running in power mode for about 100 miles and that’s averaged 45mpg which I’m more than happy with.
I ordered on the 4th of April but luckily the dealer had a few cars already on order and i was allocated one of them, I picked a MY21 car up on the 4th June.
Yep you can run in pure electric mode as long as you have charge in the battery, that was the main reason we got one, mostly short journeys under 10 miles, I expect my mpg to go up as I’m now using more electric.
This is my 7 day average

@smasher Leaving the car in hybrid mode it runs mostly in electric but you also have buttons in the menu to either hold the current charge for later or charge the battery using the engine which is what I did on the return journey.
Evening, not really done to many journeys so far this week, but this is a local one of just over 3 miles.
I did the journey going completely in hybrid electric with the exception of twice when the engine kicked in as I accelerated, the return journey was still in hybrid using electric but charging the engine at the same time.

@Tharg I recently received my Volvo xc40 T5 Recharge and can confirm even when the battery is empty that you still have same amount of power as with a full battery.
@smasher ye no problem, I’ll be doing a few short journeys in the next week, so will keep you posted.
That sounds excellent to me. It will be interesting to know how accurate the 24 mile range is, although I guess you’d have to run it in pure electric mode to find out. Of course, doing that means driving an 82bhp car with 160nm torque which I guess is fine in traffic but may be inadequate on clear roads.
I’ve ran it in pure electric today and can say that it is absolutely fine in traffic, more than quick enough in round town, in hybrid mode on a dual carriage way it stayed in electric till about 40 and then as I put my foot down the engine kicked till I let off a little and then it stayed in electric at 70 no problems, I’m more than happy with the car so far.
Morning, I charged the xc40 from the 4 miles I had left to full which said 24 miles in 3hrs 5min, so i would probably say a max of 4 hours for empty to full would seem about right, I’m pretty happy with that thought it would take longer.
I’m going to do the first charge later, I’ll get back to you tomorrow.
Unfortunately not, you get a 7m cable but my drive is at the end of the garden which is over 10m, I have a wooden gazebo which I’ve now had a socket fit too so i can charge now.
The reason I’ve been using mostly petrol is because I’ve been waiting to have power outlet fit.
You can get reasonably good mpg on journeys.

I picked my xc40 t5 phev last Friday, I’ve been using it mainly on petrol and charging the battery via petrol too and I’m averaging 36.7 at the moment which I think is pretty reasonable considering its only done about 500 miles and will probably go up a little when it has more miles.
Thanks ajn he’s worked for Lamborghini and Porsche but mostly does freelance stuff.
A couple more pics that my son took, he’s a car photographer.

Ye its a lovely colour, I love the way it changes from white to light grey to silver.
@ajn It’s an R Design pro, so you only get the nubuck/leather interior, I really like it though, very comfy.
Hi,
Sorry I’ve not been about all weekend been to busy driving ?
Had a bit if a nightmare on Friday picking the car up, was due to collect at 10, everything was fine apart from they couldn’t tax the car as volvos systems had gone down, managed to get it sorted after a 3 hour wait (not the dealers fault)
The car itself is lovely to drive, I didn’t think the suspension is too stiff its comparable to my tiguan r-line that has just gone.
I’ve done 350 miles this weekend mostly on petrol or charging via petrol as outdoor socket is not installed till weds, averaged 37mpg which I’m more than happy with.
Only 1 pic for now

It’s a my21 build so not got the newer recharge wheels, dealer sent me a video yesterday with all the wrapping still on.
