I haven’t heard from my dealer for almost 2 weeks now and last time build week was w/c 10th June
@bogzaf Deposits are yet another area where different dealers adopt different approaches! The Motability stance on this is that some dealers may ask for a deposit and are perfectly entitled to do so. However, many dealers don’t ask for one (my BMW dealer didn’t, even though I added a lot of expensive options to the car) and some will ask but not push it if you say you’re not happy to. My advice would always be to avoid paying a deposit and also to have the £750 new car bonus paid directly to the customer after pick up and not direct to the dealer to deduct from the AP. That way, if you change your mind (e.g. a better car comes on the scheme and you want to cancel, or the AP drops and the dealer won’t spend the 5 minutes adjusting the admin) you have no tie to the dealer whatsoever and can walk away. There have been a few examples on here over the years where people have cancelled their order and dealers have been difficult about refunding deposits. They have no choice but to eventually refund, as we never enter into a legally binding contract with the dealership, but some people have had real difficulty. In one case I had to help the person get their money back. It’s a hassle that people can do without.
indeed. I’ve learned a lot from people in that forum ! And I’m really grateful! Unfortunately I found this page literally on the day I made my order 🙁 but it’s good to have so many amazing people with great knowledge and willing to help!
Whilst I am pleased that @bogzaf got a positive outcome, I would strongly advise others not to attempt to get the AP adjusted by calling Motability. They are the last people you should ask in this situation! Motability’s policy with regards to APs is very clear and has never changed. You pay the AP that applied when you placed the order, regardless of whether it goes up or down. If an AP goes down before the customer picks up the car, the only winner is Motability. The dealer does not benefit at all and the customer loses out. Motability do not like dealers adjusting the Motability order so that the customer pays the lower price, as it results in less profit for them. @bogzaf was very lucky, but if you call Motability 99% of the time they will just quote the policy and, by calling them, you are also alerting them to the fact that you might try to do this through the dealership. By contrast, the vast majority of dealers value their customers and, human nature as it is, most car sales people won’t want to see their customers paying more than they need to, especially as it’s only a few minutes work for them and makes not a jot of difference to what they receive by ordering the car (which is a fixed handling payment from Motability plus the car counts towards their bonus targets – even though most will deny this). Thankfully, the instances where dealers won’t adjust the AP down (which does NOT affect the vehicle order or delivery time in any way at all – it’s just an admin thing and absolutely nothing to do with the actual order) are few and far between. I suspect that in the majority of these cases it’s simply a case of the sales person being a bit clueless as to how it all works, but of course some will just be being downright lazy or, dare I say it, a bit ‘anti Motability customers’. Obviously anyone unlucky enough to encounter such a sales person will be unlikely to use them a second time.
i totally agree with your point. I did accept that they will not change my AP when ordered my car however meanwhile other things came up and I decided to ask the source – motability helpline. This is my first ever motability car. I wasn’t aware of any things including that is should not pay deposit when they request it. So I guess everyone should do as they feel 🙂
My skoda dealer did not want to reduce my AP either. They told me that motability not allowed the to do that. However, I’ve read here so many times people where able to reduce it that I decided to call motability and ask. So the answer was – dealer can cancel and re submit application and stay with same order if car’s price did not reduce (manufacture price) if for example Skoda costs £50k when I ordered and now same model is £48k then they would have to cancel application and order car which would send me to the end of the queue. I rang my dealer and said this but they said they will not do it until they will get official approval from motability. So again, I rang motability help line and lovely lady Chloe put mi on hold and spoke win manager. And she sorted out everything. My application was resubmitted for lower AP but order remains unchanged as the price of the care is still same.
I’m with ovo on energy and gas. And also switch on their ev tariff. As the car not always be at home during night so I needed a cheap ent time tariff to charge when I need it for 7p/kwh without with to night off peak time. Will see how it will work once I will get my car. My energy and gas bill for 4bed are on DD for £122 and I am £550 in credit.
My dealer called me earlier in the week to say that my assigned build date which had been changed from week 22 to week 18 3 weeks ago has moved back to week 22 again. Oh well, nothing you can do but wait. Of course though I took the opportunity to ask him to cancel and replace the order to give me the lower AP, which he has already done oncewhen the AP dropped last quarter . He was a bit reluctant explaining that Motability specifically tell dealers that they are not allowed to do this and that if they do, they must also cancel the factor order and, if the customer still wants the same vehicle, place a new one. WE left it that he would discuss it with his manager. A couple hours later I got a call to say it was done, and without deleting the factory order. It is at best unfair and at worst incompetent of Motability to be so inconsistent in their messaging which leads to only those with the awareness of how the system works and the confidence to challenge benefiting from that sloppiness. It has saved me £900 since I ordered the car but not everyone will be so fortunate.
I spoke with motability directly regarding changes to get lower AP as my dealership said no. Motability said to me it’s ok to cancel application and resubmit it for lower AP. If car’s price did not change since original order then card order with manufacturer can sty as it is. But if car is now cheeper then they will also have to cancel manufacture order and order new car in new manufacture price. Otherwise motability would loose money. They give permission to my dealer to change AP and as there is no change in price for Enyaq since we ordered in jan same car order remain.
Ordered 85 eco suite coupe on 29/1 build week given 2 week letter wc 15th April however then changed to week 18 and now 24 th which is 10 June. I will contact my salesman in 2/3 weeks time. And will see if any changes.
For anyone who is having a frustrating experience with their build date, have heart that the situation may improve! On ordering the 85 Edition(Loft, no extras) on 25.11.23, I was told build times were looking good and to expect a build date in March and delivery of car in April at the latest. Time ticked on and the estimated build date moved all over the place, from weeks 12, 16, 20 to 26. The staff member who dealt with the order was very poor at communicating or coming back to emails and you always had to instigate for an update. I called the dealership today and asked for another staff member to take over the sale due to the poor experience. New staff member has been great so far. AP reduced to Q2 price and build date given as week 14 (this week) which they will call and confirm next week. Fingers crossed, it’s all looking a lot more positive.
I really really hope that my build weeks which was pushed from week 16 to 18 and now to 24 somehow will be brought forward to maybe week 20 at least ?
My salesman Jason is great. Always respond to my emails or call me instead of sending an email. He try to be as much helpful as possible. Sadly, he is only trainee sales executive so he needs to ask questions/ permissions other more experienced staff members which – in my opinion are terrible. Jason in on annual leave from Thursday and I had to deal with others and omg. I’m glad I have Jason. The rest of them act like motability clients are not worth the time whatsoever. So the experience might be different depending on who is your sales person 🙂
Skoda wings Peterborough did not call me back either despite saying that to motability lady. I tried to call them at 5pm as they open till 6pm and guess what? At 5pm phone said that they are close and when automatic voice said their opening hours – they should would Monday – Friday 8:30am to 6pm ??♀️
@madhoose – try to call motability. They will contact your dealer to resubmit your order with lower AP. That’s what they did for me.
Change of alloys on 80 edition by the looks, think they are nicer than previous.
saw this too the other day. I’m wondering if they will be updated on those already ordered but still awaiting to be build ?
They pissed me off so badly at wings that I called motability today. And ask a lot of questions including reducing AP. So I’ve been told it’s fine with them to cancel and resubmit application to get lower AP. I rang Škoda wings and they said that “we doing this for 5 years and motability never agreed for this” and we will not do it until we get an official permission. So I rang motability again and explained what I’ve been told. Lovely lady put me on hold and rang them to explain situation and give a permission. She said all was sorted and they will contact me later today. She also said they clearly have no motability training knowledge
Skoda Glasgow refusing to alter AP. Too be fair they have been shocking with any communication. Never thought I’d say it but wish we had went to Arnold Clark
skoda wings Peterborough refused AP change too. I’ve asked the question when I ordered my car. Furthermore, I tried to get enyaq 85x suv which shows in Škoda stock locator and been told I would loose £500 deposit which was required to made an order therefore I have to wait till god knows when for my car. It should be build next week but as for today build week is 10th June. But who knows if this won’t change
Volvo’s AP is much more than it was. So whoever ordered before today – good job. I saw Toyota rav4 is available but AP is really high
Anyone know anything about new Škoda price list? Do you think AP for Enyaq will go up or dow? I personally think there sie a huge demand atm so I think they might increase AP to slow down orders from motability
So I got another update from Škoda and form build week 16 they pushed to week 24 ?♀️?♀️ I don’t get it. If they allocated date why they keep changing it ;(
I’ve asked question if I cancel my order and pick something from stock will I lose my deposit or this will still count. Currently awaiting respond. Will see.
Just had an email from my dealership advising that my Enyaq Coupe build date has been moved back from week 16 to week 23 (W/C 3rd June). They say it could be moved either way before then! So that’s a 7 week delay as it stands!
When did you ordered yours? We ordered 29/1 and best told same week and 3 weeks ago we found out that it was pushed to week 18. Not sure now ?
Ordered an edition 60 race blue suite interior with no extras 4 weeks ago. Update from dealer this week is that its due to be built in the next week and on target for 10 week projection.
60’a are quicker as there is less demand on them
i ordered mine on 29/1 (coupe) and been told build week wc 16. Then two weeks after was pushed back to week 18. So instead may it will be June. Or as per Tuesday conversation with salesman even July. And I’m a bit pi*** off. I’m on enyaq group on Facebook and some people ordered after me and it’s been build and will get it in April. Like c’mon ??♀️
I have (stupid) question regarding Škoda connect. Are we getting this for free for all 3 years or we need to subscribe and pay £13?
when I asked as skoda wings about this they told me they have clear instructions from motability to do not change paper work to reduce AP.
Collect it when you are ready and not before. No reason why you should be out of pocket just because it got here sooner than expected, an if you’re up for it tell the dealer that you’ll cancel and re-order to get it at the lower AP, they might change their mind. My dealer did it all be it a little reluctantly but there is nothing lost for them so it worth insisting.
and that’s the reason why most of Škoda dealers (and other) taking no return deposit. People what to cancel and re order because of AP dropped but if it would go up would you do the same ? Don’t think so. It’s hard to find a dealer which will cancel and reorder for the less AP.
More 7 seater cars !
kia EV9
mercedes GLB and all electric from Mercedes.
maybe ford explorer 7 seatSanta Fe and Kia sorento 😉
and not too high AP !
I’ve just had an email to say that my 85x sport line plus has left the factory. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to reach the UK and then to the dealership? Thank you.
can I just ask when did you ordered ?
