There’s no issue having the car in 3 weeks time. Contact motability closer to your move-in date to the property and claim the free wall charge installation.
If you are certain of the move-in date and have pictures of the consumer unit/electric meter along with pictures of where you’d like the charger installed, you can book the installation weeks in advance. This way you don’t have to wait 4/5 weeks after the move to have it installed.
I did exactly this and the installation was done much sooner.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the reassessment—just carry on with your routine and plans.
For context, I got my renewal form last February, sent it off, and only received bi-monthly texts confirming they had it. Finally In December, I received a call from a health professional, the call lasted about 15-minutes and to my surprise resulted in an enhanced and backdated award.
The assessor advised that going forward, I should only report any changes in circumstances on the form and avoid repeating or resubmitting the information they already had, this was a relief as having to reiterate my situation repeatedly had been quite stressful.

What a nice looking motor you’ve got right there.
Don’t be stingy with the pics, post more pls 🙂 ….. and how’s the ride and range?
Actually mb are quite considerate when it comes to swapping EV’s due to its range, you’ll need to advise them of the difficulties you’re experiencing such as having to make frequent charging stops to get to your destination and the impact its having on your health/mobility.
In my case, my work was located 100+ miles away from home, and my then E2008 was a pita in winter/cold months. A swap was approved considering I mostly work from home, and in the event I couldn’t cope with the vehicle anymore. I didn’t swap in the end.
I’ve had mine for almost 10 months and didn’t know about the headrest.
And I agree, it’s one of the best spec’d, smooth cars I have driven, even though I have only driven mine for a combined total of 30 days or less since ownership 🙁
I recall an op having to go through similar experience with their housing association on this forum.
Sure someone will post a link to that topic.
Here is the thing, back in 2013, I had a BMW 316i on Motability which came with an 18″ wheels. I swapped them out for a 20″ wide fitting wheels and also had the rear windows tinted.
In that period I had a rear quarter damage, punctures, theft etc….. all repairs went through Motability without any questions asked nor was the insurance invalidated.
Also handed the vehicle back with the modifications and still received the GCB.
May 10, 2024 at 3:04 pm in reply to: Help Please :Can’t get octopus intelligent go for my Enyaq #277240Hi there, I know it’s a little off topic, but is it possible to register two cars with Intelligent Octopus Go. My son has an Audi E-Tron and I have a Skoda Enyaq Coupe on order. Thanks.
Hmm, if you’re alternating and charging with the same charger I don’t think it makes any difference. The communication is between Octopus and the charger and not with the vehicle (I need to fact check this).
Though mine is linked to my vehicle to charge during off peak hours, it can also charge any EV both off peak and peak hours.
I was in a similar position years back when I put my private car of £505 tax band on a disabled class, I subsequently ordered a Motability vehicle and specifically told Motability that I wish to retain the disabled class on my private vehicle which they agreed to.
The Motability vehicle still got registered on a disabled class and this was never changed despite advising Motability and DVLA of the mistake.
So I had two vehicles on disabled class for years, DVLA and Motability were all advised but this wasn’t rectified.
I have had mine for about 3 months and unfortunately the card isn’t universally acceptable by all chargers unlike Electroverse which I’ve pretty much used here and in France without an issue.
Also can only filter by charger speed, connector type and hub but not by accessibility on the app.
On the Ohme charger, set the charging rate and hours under ‘my energy’ Then under ‘ my charger’ there is a toggle switch that says’ price cap’ . Make sure that is enabled. The charger will then start at your off peak rate. Hope that helps.
??
Plus, can also toggle the switch to override the price cap and charge as normal.
I’m sure the op is inclined to know the consequences but lets be kind….we’re all human!
Let’s not cast the first stone.
Should be fine, dealers are quite flexible and happy to amend orders to reflect new MB price changes.
Can’t comment on either of the cars, however you can order on the 31st and if prices are favourable in the next quarter you can amend/cancel your original order.

Here’s what you can control remotely on i6

Initially I was quite skeptical on the digital mirror especially at that price, however the more I researched, safety wise it offered more than the conventional mirror, which got me to summon up the courage to go for a stock car with one.
My skepticism was purely based on the media’s negative review of an Audi’s digital mirror, but having one has completely changed my view – granted it takes getting used, but it becomes second nature after a few days.
Also contrary to some views on the smart park feature, mine does more than just “forward and back” it does park itself whilst in or out of the vehicle. That being said, I see it more as a novelty feature which I would probably never try to use again.
The bings and bongs are definitely not as intrusive as has been suggested, my ears are very sensitive to bongs however, I can live with the i6 alerts. Apparently, these safety alerts are the new norm in regard to ncap rating so expect new cars to have these.
I would suggest a test drive to avoid any misconceptions against such a capable car.

Apologies @Kezo for the confusion, I was making reference to the remote parking feature called smart park 🙂
@Kezo, I got the car from Ancaster in London, they had few i6 in stock with immediate delivery. From memory they had few of the gold matte silver and byte blue in stock.
Same here, the wife liked it the very first time we saw it at the dealer, I was super skeptical of the profile but it grew on me.
Hmm I honestly never thought of the heatpump, thought it came as standard, I have reached out to Hyundai for confirmation. That being said, I pre-heated the cabin this morning using the app(Bluelink) and it worked great, so I’m highly certain it comes with one.
One good thing is you can actually select the pre-heat temp which goes up to 27 degrees and you have the option of what gets pre-heated (seats, steering, windscreens, washer fluid etc)
I need to try the smart park myself, however the dealer demonstrated it by using the key to drive it out of the parking lot, as I understand, it could reverse parallel and reverse bay park as well.
The efficiency is great, I achieved an average of 4.5/kwh that’s without trying too hard. My last car E2008 was very thirsty only managed 2.8 at best.
It’s pouring down with rain atm but will take couple of pics once the weather clears up.
Picked up an Ioniq 6 rwd ultimate yesterday in Abyss black with every option available including digital mirror and smart park.
Ordered last week Tuesday, so pretty quick collection turnaround.
It had 350 miles of range at 100% charge, drove about 95 miles at an average of 67 mph on the motorway and still have 255 miles of range left.
The ride comfort is exceptionally smooth even on the 20″ wheels.
It is tech loaded, so will take some time getting used to… It even automatically changed lane on the motorway which I never knew it had the option.
So if you have any specific question, require measurements or a mini review of any option, let me know and I’ll do my best to provide feedback.
