Quick update for those interested in the model and those currently waiting.
Still in love with the car, averaging 4 mpkwh which is giving me an average of 320 on a full charge. All the milage has been covered in standard mode on a mixture of A and B roads with prob 200 on the motorway. Occasionally i use sport mode just to annoy the boy racers but even in standard mode on regen 3 i don`t slouch about so im happy with the range overall.
The ride and drive are sublime, so smooth and rapid over pretty much all road surfaces and near silent on the motorways with very little road and wind noise. Finally getting used to the size in car parks, the self park and brilliant 360 camera system do help but its still a huge car. Still turns heads in car parks and town centres though and in all the time ive owned it only ever seen one other in the wild.
I know its only been a short time of 3 months but even so i would not choose another car if i had to, it really is the best car i have driven on the scheme and would not hesitate to recommend one, range, drive and comfort are all 10 out of 10 from me. So far the Ohme charger is behaving itself so no issues there either, overall a very happy bunny with car, scheme and facilities provided.

That’s a comforting read. I finally pick mines up on Friday, it’s been a long ol’ slog waiting for it, but I can’t wait to get behind the wheel.
4 mphkwh is some serious numbers especially for the 20″ wheels
July 22, 2024 at 1:18 pm #285434Yes mate, you will be impressed and i drive it like i would a gas burner not like the vicar lol. I reckon of you drive it in Eco like i did my Kia Soul then you would achieve 4.6 easily pushing the range up to 340 or 350 but where is the fun in that.
If you have ordered the Ultimate your gonna love those ventilated seats in this weather, they are utterly sublime.

July 22, 2024 at 4:27 pm #285455Yes mate, used it quite a lot in this weather to cool it down b4 trips, not really noticed the range decrease much either as the climate on auto works really well accompanied by the sun roof on tilt. The blind spot monitors are really useful too to protect those expensive wheels from kissing the kirbs. Your gonna love it, 3 months in and I still smile like a child when I see it lol.

----------------------------July 22, 2024 at 9:05 pm #285468@Stuart have you only done 748 miles in 3 months… ๐ฑ I’ve done 1,000 in 10 days ๐๐๐ and going to add another 300 tomorrow.
Totally agree about the car, it is brilliant, @KamKam you’ll love it too ๐ย I’m also getting near 4 miles per kWh, normally in eco mode but only because I prefer the dash graphics however I’ve used all the modes. I’m not bothered about speed these days but I do drive at the speed limit so 70/75’ish on the motorway, not like an old granny ๐
Memory seats are excellent but especially the ventilated seats when it’s warm. I love the adaptive cruise control and self driving function. I’ve used the remote control to move it a few times when it was parked too close to my wife’s car so getting in the boot was too tight, just moved it forward 3 feet then back when I was finished… and once because the door was too near a pole so moved it forward about 6 inches ๐ค๐
As for downsides of the car they are so petty I’ve got a cheek to mention them but here they are… charging at 10A with the granny it tripped twice, on 6A & 8A it’s fine, maybe there’s an issue with my outdoor socket but it worked fine for years on the MG5 & Leafs ๐คทโโ๏ธ I’ll get the socket checked later just in case.ย ย Because all the USB points are type C and not type A I had to buy new charging cables ๐ฌ cost me ยฃ7 for 2 ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ. It’s big so you overhang parking bays, the 360 cameras help though. My wife uses it a lot so her car is becoming a garden ornament ๐๐ told you the downsides were petty ๐๐
July 22, 2024 at 9:17 pm #285471Yeah my milage is usually pretty low as the wife does not drive anymore due to illness and i still work and get a van supplied for that so the car is pretty much a weekend car tbh and holidays. i usually cover around 15000 in the 3 year period so it will get used.
Agree with the remote key usage though, come in handy a few times when people park really close to you, and another thing i really like which is a little bit childish lol is the glove box being a draw, i think that is really cool as well as the door pockets and under centre storage been see through so you can see whats in them. Have found the headrests move forward and backwards too, only realised the other day they activate like a switch, push and it pops outward, push again and it pops back in lol

July 22, 2024 at 11:38 pm #285479@Stuartย sorry about your wife but I’m sure you’ll love getting out in the Ioniq 6 after driving a van. I fully expect to be pretty close to my 20k miles a year allowance and maybe even over it if I can manage the European trips I want to do ๐ค
Didn’t know about the headrests so I’ll try that tomorrow.
The childish thing I like is the boot opening by itself when you walk up to it, same as the car unlocking itself as you approach the door ๐
July 23, 2024 at 10:17 am #285487I’m a totally gadget freak so can’t waiting to go through all the menus. Will be a blessing in both winter a summer being able to control the climate via the app.
I’m pretty sure there’s a setting Rhodgie you can change so the car pulls at a lower rate to stop it tripping the board.
After having it for a while is the Bose still decent quality?
July 23, 2024 at 12:05 pm #285497@KamKam there is a setting to reduce the draw but it would then affect all AC charging so if I used the 7kW at home or a 22kW (car can draw 11kW)ย in the street they would be reduced to 80% or 60% of the max so it’s just easier to reduce the granny to 8A.
I’ve got no complaints about the Bose but I’m not an audiophile, I just like playing random stuff from Spotify or Gold FM ๐๐ lots of the time I turn it off to enjoy the silence ๐คซ๐
July 23, 2024 at 1:55 pm #285511I’ve had mine for almost 10 months and didn’t know about the headrest.
And I agree, it’s one of the best spec’d, smooth cars I have driven, even though I have only driven mine for a combined total of 30 days or less since ownership ๐
July 23, 2024 at 11:13 pm #285566@KamKam @Stuartย today’s trip was 290 miles with 23 miles left when I got home, started at 100% and got home with 8%, had AC on all day and the sunroof open for โ of trip, mostly A roads doing about 45/50mph and 65 on main roads.
I left from just outside Glasgow, up A9 to Perth, then Blairgowrie where we stopped at Tesco for the toilet and a meal deal ๐. Then on to Glenshee, Braemar and Ballater for a wander around. I was going to charge here but wanted to see how far I could go ๐ฌ๐ค Then went to Cock Bridge, Tomintoul, Grantown on Spey, Aviemore and back down the A9 and home.
That’s me at almost 1300 miles in 12 days, I picked it up from Gateshead on the 11th… I love driving it ๐ ๐

Nah, I know the road, the terrain and all the charging points along it, been up and down there thousands of times so had no worries about getting home. This is why I didn’t top up on the route as I wanted to push it to see how far I could go… I would have circled the block a few times if I hadn’t needed to pee ๐
The GoM seems pretty accurate at about 3x the battery % overall, I’ve got the aircon set so it’s the same as on normal but it doesn’t make a massive difference to range especially at this level. Reducing speed to 60 or following trucks would help if desperate for range but considering we’d just been over the highest road in Scotland and up & down some big big hills I’m very pleased with the range.
July 25, 2024 at 11:30 am #285638A full tour of Scotland then home to charge for ยฃ5!
Dealer called the other day cars arrived but needs to be there for 4 days before the can release it? ๐คจ
July 25, 2024 at 12:41 pm #285643Do you have the digital side camera. If so how are they. When compared to normal mirrors.

Mine was the same, 3 months later and i dropped a pound coin in the footwell, bent down to pick it up and noticed a big piece of protective film they for got to remove. Thats about the fifth so far lol, they made a hash of cleaning the as well so after a few weeks i put a ceramic polish on myself and it looks brilliant now, really pops in the sun and the water just runs off.

----------------------------July 25, 2024 at 1:10 pm #285649@ianpย I don’t have the DSM as wasn’t willing to pay an extra ยฃ1k ๐ฑย however I was in a car with them when wife was test driving it and was a little unusual, you’d soon get used to it but I like the fact the normal mirrors both tilt downwards when you select reverse.
When the hand controls were getting fitted they told me the dealers needs 4 days notice of when it’ll be ready to go out… I’m guessing so they can do the handover paperwork and get the insurance sorted ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Still got bits of protective film on mines but that’s okay as my wife likes to peel these off… similar to popping bubble wrap and watching Dr pimple popper ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐

Must be a woman thing, as my wife also watches Dr pimple popper ๐คฃ

Fully expect the “prep” to be a riot. I got a matt colour not sure if I’ve made a mistake with maintenance/washing etc.
July 25, 2024 at 2:57 pm #285654Oh wow cannot wait to see pictures of that, i wanted matt gravity gold but i chickened out at the last min lol.

----------------------------July 30, 2024 at 12:21 pm #285937So I finally got the new “whip” as the kids call it. Pretty impressed so far and actually quick for a big old girl.
Made my first mistake and updated the software and now the speed limit warning option is no longer there. You fellas got any work arounds?
July 30, 2024 at 12:26 pm #285938Only one I know of mate is hold the left scroll wheel down for 5 seconds and that should jump to the section that disables it. But I’m pretty much sure I read somewhere once it updates it’s on for good.
Good luck mate.
