We are away in 3 weeks time in the touring caravan, I need to see how the wife is in the caravan after her accident/illness before Christmas, we are going to look at static caravan sites with view to renting or a permanent storage and seasonal caravan pitch in the New Forest.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
I have used the UK forums, some posting claims February/March 2026 model still having issues, to be honest it is putting off the EV3, but the wife likes the look of the vehicle as opposed to the Toyota C-HR+

Hi all. I’ve setup a new account so I can be anonymous. I’ve recently managed to terminate my Motability lease early. I then used the online access from my account to ask Direct Line for my Claims History letter. Their page said 48 hours, so 2 days to get this via email. No sign so I rang them up to chase. Apparently they are inundated with requests for this letter. The wait time was estimated by the lady I spoke to at 10 days, so 5 times the quoted time. Sounds like there’s a lot of us sending the message that we’re not happy with the way things are going and are exploring our options. I’ll follow up over the next few days with the choices I’ve made and my reasons for them. Cheers
.
Good luck I totally understand your reasons, I am still in 2 minds.

Kezo the man to speak to he is up all all these matters, there was posting in February on this site as regards the matter, several new owner on forums are still complaining several being left without a vehicle for months. I need to do some further investigation Hyundai/Kia hide their head in the sand as regards the Tuscon/Sportage issues, does not look good.

Kezo has Kia fixed their AC charging problem yet, I have read online owner complaining only receiving their EV3 2/3 days ago and still experiencing AC problems, owner reverting to granny leads.

I due to test drive the Kia EV3 Gt-Line before it’s removed ?
@oscarmax It is the EV3 GT-Line-S (former AP £2999) that has been removed from the scheme. The GT-Line (£799 AP albeit with a £300 dscount at many dealers) is still available on the scheme (for now anyway).
The Kia dealer predicted 16 weeks waiting list

My understanding the drive smart box is being trial at this stage, if there was to many problems I would assume Mobility would not move forward.

Just after real world advice please. I’m in the current window to change, thank goodness. I’ve been looking at the ev3 although slightly small and the Cupra formentor. Totally different car prospects I know. im currently in a 2023 VW Tiguan which is perfect for my needs. With current prices I’m wanting to keep the AP as low as possible. Heated Seats and SUV are a must, so is minimal wind noise. Any other recommendations are welcome. i live in a flat but have 8 pod point chargers located, although I’ve heard they are expensive. also if you don’t get a charger, how much pre paid credit do motability offer, online is mixed results, so real world opinions are needs thanks
Unless you can charge off peak at home just walk away, there are plenty on hybrids similar to the Toyota’s range which will achieve 60mpg plus.
We have a plug in hybrid we only charge at home off peak, on holiday we use pure self charging hybrid mode achieving 50/60 mpg.

I have filled in several surveys over the years, nothing mentioned about the above, always received one after contacting Mobility asking about how the call handler performed.
However, received a survey late afternoon asking about the changes, and how I feel about them. Main question the asked me if I am likely to leave the scheme.

Had a look today was I impressed unfortunately no, I just thought it would look and feel so much better, I haven’t had a test drive yet, but both prefer the Suzuki Across.
The Kia EV3 looks and feels a more modern vehicle, the Kia interior and boot are larger the the Toyota C-HR+ despite being externally a larger vehicle.

You are 100% however, as you stated if any driver under 30.

In response to the OP’s original question; I don’t think AP’s will change dramatically in Q3 either way. The whole point of making the lease terms better for Motability is to trim costs so that there doesn’t need to be any massive increases in AP’s. They’ll be forecasting 5 to 10 years in advance and have ample reserves to ride out the changes while things settle down. On the VAT debate, they’ve known for some time that they would have to shoulder the VAT on the vast majority of orders this quarter. I’m sure they’ll claw it all back over time, big business is very much a long term game.
I have uploaded a posting VAT

I haven’t told the step daughter and her husband we have a Mobility vehicle, they are very narrow minded and believe disabled people and those on benefit are a burden and drain on society.

I could always have the towbar removed and buy a used Across, the offset is it was serviced by Mobility and oily rag and a good tyre kicking.
Suzuki offer similar to Toyota 10 year warranty service extensions, so long its got full service history, it would be no different to Motability full dealer service. The main downside, you haven’t owned a used one from new, but don’t really matter. Its certainly still worth talking to the supplying dealer or Toyota and ask for some figurers if they bought it and the options of selling it back to you. Theres also potential used RAV4 deals.
Toyota tend to be a £3/4,000 higher for the equivalent Suzuki, however, they do come with a speed limiter and Toyota APP. At present the advertised retail market price of 4 year old Suzuki Across with 30,000 miles £21,500/£22,500, as I have no part exchange I could probably push the asking price dow. At present our vehicle is 18,960 miles by August 2026 approximately 22,000 miles, August 2027 approximately 28,000 miles.
I would happily pay £20,000/£21,000 for our vehicle at the end of it lease, I need to pop in a see the Suzuki man before I make any decisions.

I did, and I am truly sorry about that.
There is no need to say sorry, at the end of the day we all haven’t got much of a clue, Mobility recently become a law unto themselves. As I previously stated the Kia dealer explain in all to us, however they can only pass on the information they are being given.
If Mobility get cute and add 20% VAT you then cancel, you then become a new customer with a free smart drive.

I am sorry but I think you don’t have clue ?

So basically Mobility is going to take the AP VAT hit, hence the AP hike in the second quarter, if these AP stay exactly the same in the third July quarter AP will be plus 20% VAT, WOW.
Possibly not, which was my original point when answering the question posed by the OP (sorry OP for derrailing your thread). Lets say the AP for 1st April should have been £625, no VAT. Motability had 3 options on April 1st: a) Set it at £625 – that means they take a £125 hit on cars delivered after July 1st b) Set it at £750 – that means they fully cover the VAT, and get an extra £125 for cars delivered ahead of 1st July. c) Set it somewhere between £625 and £750. The where will be based on their best guess of how many cars will be delivered before and after, and try to cover all of the after. Given they are trying to save money, and have to cover costs A is almost certainly not true. I personally suspect they have done C, but they may have done B. As APs are sticker prices, and no-one really knows how they are made up it’s impossible to tell. The Enyaq feels like it’s been subjected to at least C. If they have done either B or C, then July 1st won’t show a huge increase; that’s already partly baked in from April 1st.
Well that’s as clear as mud, no one in their right mind is going to order a vehicle with a flexible AP.
