I would certainly wait till your 26 Lee, if thats possible, as it opens up the entire scheme to you. Extending your lease to 4 or 5 years is an option but the criteria changes every now and again. In our case we were allowed to extend to 5 years as we had paid more than £2.000 AP. In 3 years time this could have changed.
If this is to do with the insurance then the restrictions are for under 25’s so Lee should have no restrictions as far as I know.

With CVT there are no gears so to speak of, in years gone past they were drive pulleys and a V belt the width of the pulleys is constantly variable making the V belt ride high or low on the pulley and effectively altering the diameter of the pulleys and so the ratio between driver and driven, never driven one but I believe they were problematic.
Modern ones don’t use pulleys and belts but do have one gear that is used in a planetary arrangement, or at least that’s the case on the Corolla. There is no sense of gear change when driving a CVT as opposed to a DSG, a DSG will automatically select an actual physical gear and the driver will sense this happening, with a CVT this goes unnoticed and the car just drives. However CVT engines do rev high under acceleration, it only happens if you hit the throttle, for example when joining a motorway but it only last a few seconds.
Be aware that although the Corolla GR Sport is a sportier model it isn’t any lower than the Excel so the Excel would not be any easier to get into.

That’s incredible, I was expecting similar to a Golf is a Leon is a A3 is an Octavia. This literally is a Corolla with a Suzuki badge on. They will even be being made on the same production line.

I know you have ruled out Corolla but have you considered the estate with a 581 litre boot? I have a Corolla 1800 hybrid GR Sport Estate as a company car, I had to visit a company today for work, it’s a 29 mile round trip all urban driving.
It was a cold morning with heating and heated seats on but the car still managed 54.1 mpg on the way there, I was there one and a half hours and when I came out the engine had cooled but was not cold and without heated seats on the return journey the car managed 65.4 mpg all according to the on board computer so I’m uncertain of the accuracy. The car has only done 700 miles so this should improve after more millage and will also improve in warmer months.

Dacia are owned by Renault, I until recently had a SEAT Leon, my daughter has a motability SEAT Arona and my wife has a SEAT Ibiza if you lift the bonnet on all three may of the parts have VW stamped on them because the cars are all in reality Volkswagen’s. What’s the betting Dacia parts have Renault stamped on them?

My car SEAT Ibiza SE Tec 1.2 petrol TSI 2017.Mike, according to the price list metallic paint is £600 on all but the Dynamic and Orange Edition, I don’t know if motability/dealer will charge for this but if they do then the Dynamic may be a better option. I think all Dynamics come with black roofs but have your choice of satin grey, it looks like the one you showed in the pictures, the interior is blue themed have a look at pictures on Google it’s worth considering.
Can anyone answer if metallic paint is charged for as an optional extra?

I don’t know if motability charge for metallic paint but the Dynamic comes with metallic paint as standard and also a fair bit more kit than the Design.

Yes auto folding door mirrors are standard across all three body shapes from Design spec up. The heads up display sold it for me, I’d have gone for the Excell if it was standard on that car. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the specs, for example the GR Sport has rear seat heater vents in the estate but not in the hatchback, the estate GR Sport has 17 inch alloys but the hatchback GR Sport has 18 inch alloys. Also be aware the hatchback has limited head and leg room in the rear seats compared to the estate.

My car SEAT Ibiza SE Tec 1.2 petrol TSI 2017.Just thought I would do a quick update on life with the Corolla. Firstly, it’s averaging just over 61 mpg which is pretty unbelievable given that I’m not a slow driver. This has been with a mix of journeys both town, A roads and motorways and it’s been set to normal mode not economy. On the motorway I’ve been setting the ACC to 75 mph sometimes 80 mph and the aircon has been on all the time. It fascinates me how the hybrid system works, I’ve actually changed my view on these self charging hybrid engines and if a Lexus was on the scheme, I would give it some serious thought. Now the bad. The seats are the most uncomfortable I’ve ever known and my bum gets seriously numb after around an hour at the wheel. My back has been fine due to the excellent lumbar support function. I will have to look for a cushion of some sort to help my poor bum. Finally, the noise is a definite problem both the CVT and road noise despite it having really small wheels. If economy is top of your list, the Corolla will take some beating.
Glad your getting good milage, which model did you go for, I’ve chose the GR Sport estate as a company car I’ve currently got a SEAT Leon 1600 diesel estate and the mpg is comparable. I have to claim milage on my work expenses for the Leon I get 8 pence a mile for the Hybrid Corolla I’ll get 12 pence a mile I do about 10,000 company miles a year so it adds up to a fair bit. Add to that the company car tax is cheaper on the Corolla and the fact that petrol is cheaper to buy than diesel it’s a win win situation.

Yes it’s on the windscreen, it can be customised to show different things, digital speed, satnav turn arrows, road sign recognition and so on.

My car SEAT Ibiza SE Tec 1.2 petrol TSI 2017.Well after a fews days of having it I’m already hoping I can get it changed. Yes it’s economical currently doing 60mpg but it’s a dreadful car being the lowest Icon spec. The CVT box is noisy and it’s all noise and no go. The turning circle is poor and it doesn’t have a satnav yet it has lumbar support and a rear view camera. With the noise it sounds like you are going a lot faster than you are and overtaking is something you have to carefully consider due to it’s lack of power. The steering is very vague and it feels like the car is trying to take over. Luckily it’s a temporary car.
Yes the specs are odd, icon has heated front seats but no satnav, icon tech adds satnav but no front fog lights, design adds most things needed, I went for GR Sport it has an heads up display I also considered Excel this gives keyless entry but looses the heads up display. As a general rule of thumb the specs are good like for like with competertors though.
