Had my 85X Coupe on 15 April and had problems getting into ŠKODA Connect. Checked and apparently the problem was caused by a recent software update.
Everthing o.k now and was able to sign into Intelligent Octopus Go to get the best rate. What I am reading does not fill me with confidence. However it’s also a fact that I really enjoy driving the car and it does appear to be well built. Software problems have dogged the VW group vehicles so I hope they are on top of this and rectify the issues quickly.
Glad to read you are enjoying the car and couldn’t agree with you more about how impressive the car is. Picked mine up on Monday and am really pleased.
Had a Kia Soul previously and the Enyaq is in a different class altogetherBuild quality up there with marques in the class above and well worth waiting for. Hope everyone waiting, get their cars quick ?
Ordered a 85x Sportline Plus Coupe on 10/12/23 given build date of Feb24 and am collecting car on 15/04/24, which is a little quicker than the 20/24 weeks I was told to expect.
Hope you all get yours early as well.
As I’ve previously mentioned I ordered on 10/12/23 and told 20+ weeks likely to wait. Was told by my dealer might get it in March as it had been built wk 05/02/24 but now told mid/late April and I think that is the most likely date.
Latest I’ve been told is that it’s at the port waiting to be shipped but I take much of what’s said with a pinch of salt. Not in any great hurry and am happy with the Kia Soul I currently have so just looking forward to when it eventually does arrive.
I was also told last week the car was built and being sent to the port in Germany, so you’ve just answered my question ?
Will keep you aware of any developments. I ordered on 10/12/23.
l asked my dealer and got the order number but the reply I got from Škoda simply quoted the Motability reference number, so I would say just use that as the reference.
Ordered a Enyaq 85x Sportline Plus Coupe on 10/12/23 and have just had confirmation that it is built and on the way to the port in Germany.
My dealer White Dove in Cardiff has been excellent at keeping me updated although I initially thought that their estimate of delivery in early March was a tad optimistic. However they weren’t far out and should be getting it in 3 to 5 weeks.
Have to admit I found contacting Škoda customer services by e-mail was also very efficient (unlike an earlier attempt to contact). They were quick to confirm what the dealer had told me and gave me a likely early March delivery date.
February 8, 2024 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Mr Bean is blamed for slump in electric car sales by House of Lords report ? #257826Just look at the mess Bean has made of the image of the British Secret Service. Don’t ever underestimate “Bean”!
I also ordered a Enyaq recently and paid a £500 deposit. Don’t see it as any great error as I will pay AP and cost of pack plus paint just before picking up car, so wouldn’t worry too much. Just look forward to enjoying your new car when it arrives.
I ordered the exact same model on 10th December and was told the extra cost for the Velvet Red was £385 the difference between the cost of Metallic and Velvet red. I think that is reasonable but would not have stumped up the full £1045. It’s strange that there doesn’t seem to be any consistency with what we are told by Skoda dealers.
Just had a look on the Carwow site and they are showing an example of a Enyaq Coupe with colour options including the fact that as part of that scheme Metallic paint is free and for a top up payment of £390 the Velvet Red is available.
@NanasRob
“When I asked my dealer about the cost of the Velvet Red, he said I’d have to [ay the full cost, not just the difference. He said they had made a mistake once and the dealer had to pay the difference themselves”.
Got back to the Dealer and told her about your experience and she confirmed that it is Skoda policy to upgrade by paying the extra only. Seems to me if he had checked with Skoda they would have confirmed one way or other.
Wouldn’t be the end of the world if I couldn’t have the Red I would go for Moon White. Great colour the Arctic Silver, unfortunately not available on the Coupe.
Someone after my own heart! I came to exactly the same conclusion having viewed the options. I like the look of the Coupe and the compromise of losing a little volume in the boot and no rear wiper was worth it. Whilst the AWD might not be needed quite as much for the small amounts of snow we get, it will certainly come in handy for the excessive rain we seem to be getting !
Enjoy your new car when you get it.
Thats what the other dealer told me but this one said it would just be the difference. Would be happy with white or blue so not a major problem.
I ordered a Enyaq 85x Sportline Plus Coupe with Advanced pack and asked if I could pay the difference between the Metallic and the velvet Red colour. Was told that if I wanted it the cost would be £385 I think.
Decided to do so and ordered on 10/12/23 and was given a build week beginning 05/02/24. I hope what I was told was accurate as another Dealer I spoke to said I would have to pay the full cost for the velvet red.
Real step forward especially with regards to not having to use rare expensive and polluting minerals and metals. A company from Sweden called Northvolt have just developed a Sodium ion battery with a similar charge density to the top Lithium ion ones and it’s ready for mass production.
The great thing about Battery tech is that there are so many different options being explored. A Ferrous Oxide battery developed by Zeeker, part of Geeley recently attained 648 miles on a single charge, which in itself is impressive but even more so is the fact that it was attained in temperatures between -2 and -12 centigrade.
We live in Interesting times.
Excellent news mate, looking forward to reading what you think of it. I know it hasn’t been an easy process but I’m sure it will be well worth it.
I ordered one last month but given all that’s happened since it’s reassuring that someone is actually getting one shortly lol!
With regards to protecting the Environment, Zeekr a Chinese company have just launched their first mass produced BEV. For once this vehicle can be truly regarded as a game changer as the battery is Lithium Iron Phosphate which does not contain the very expensive and rare metals like Nickel, Cobalt or Manganese.as well as being non toxic. It has been tested by exposing the Battery to heat of 1,000 degrees Centigrade for 8 hours and -48C for 48 hours. In both cases the battery worked as before. The standard range battery delivers 428 miles range and the long range 540 miles. For @ Elliot the top range model does 0-62 in 2.84 Seconds and is capable of charging from 10 to 80% in 15 minutes. Unfortunately the standard range only completes 0-62 in 5.4 seconds so bit slow for you lol.
The standard single motor model starts at $29,475 and top range Dual motor $42,300 in china. I believe this model, the Zeekr 007 ticks pretty much all the boxes, especially if they are allowed to sell it at a similar price in the rest of the World as in China [Europe has already started to complain of heavily state subsidised Chinese cars flooding the market].
At the very least the technology and performance is a game changer.

December 22, 2023 at 4:16 pm in reply to: What would you like to see on 1st Jan / New Quarter #252068I don’t think you have expanded on the dubious “green message” comment but I’m sure you will. I’m afraid it is about the climate agenda and the detrimental effect that fossil fuels are having on it. If we don’t ditch fossil fuel use the environment as we know it will be destroyed.
@Glos Guy
The whole idea of the green agenda is a holistic approach. So if you use assumptions that EVs are being produced and use Electricity provided by coal powered stations then yes they would appear to be more damaging to the environment. However if sustainable green energy is used the figures look very different.
Factor in the pollution caused by Fossil fuels and there is no doubt about which is more environmentally friendly. Put simply we can’t afford to carry on as before.
We have already had these debates before and usually end still in our entrenched positions. So on the basis that this is supposed to be a discussion on what we would like on the scheme my choice would be a Fisker Ocean, long range preferably.

“EV’s have their place for certain situations but for people like me where offroad parking and overnight charging are not an option they are a none starter and Mobility needs to cater to this rather than constantly pushing the dubious ‘green message’”
What exactly is the dubious “green message” you refer to?
Whilst I fully understand it is difficult for some to currently change to EVs seamlessly we all have to at least try and reduce our carbon footprint. Man made climate change is happening in real time and the quicker we accept that fact the better, particularly for our Children Grandchildren and all the future generations.
At this time EVs are the best option but if an equally clean alternative was developed, with easier affordable access to all I would switch without hesitation. I commend Motability for taking a stand for the environment and also agree with yet another fine point made by @MFillingham.
I ordered a Enyaq Coupe on 10th December and the confirmation I received like you did not mention “Coupe”. Having said that the dealers website is still showing the 80 models as available so at least it’s a 85!
I think I’ll give the dealer a ring just to confirm.

Nice to have some good news for a change ?
Excellent car just hope it comes back on the scheme as a reasonable offer.November 13, 2023 at 6:06 pm in reply to: How has David Cameron become foreign minister, when he’s not elected as a MP?? #243405Where theres a will theres a way. They have made “Dave” a life peer which allows him to join the government. Dont see it having any great effect on the result of the next election as its for Labour to lose rather than the Tories to win.
A “distraught” Boris Johnson declared “we’ve got no plan” when he realised Vote Leave would win the Brexit referendum, a new book claims.
Mr Johnstone who is widely credited with delivering the slim majority for Brexit, is said to have walked around his living room “looking ashen-faced and distraught”, muttering: “What the hell is happening? … Oh s***, we’ve got no plan.
Anybody surprised that neither Boris or any of the other Brexiteers had a clue what to do having won the vote?
Thanks for being an antidote to the drivel being peddled on some other threads. Few people realise how morally bankrupt the Tories have made the UK. How they have deliberately degraded the NHS as a precursor to privatisation as part of a trade deal with the USA.
When shown in such stark terms it shows a future of nothing more than continuing decline. For what they have inflicted on British Society the Tories should never be allowed the chance to do so again. They are a parasitic infection that should be banished to the extremities hopefully for good!
