I remember the days when my late brother had mileage bills for you going over 12,000 a year.
it was upped to 15,000 when I joined in 2005.
luckily I don’t do a lot of miles it sorts of evens itself out as I don’t go far in the winter. On the old car I did nearly 28,000 in 4 and half years.
I feel for those that do a lot of miles though.

Did you feel much difference in power between the C3 110 hybrid and the C3 Aircross 145?
according to Citroens figures for the C4 the 1.2 145 supposed to be as quick as my old C4 1.2 155 EAT8.
mind I beat Citroen fuel consumption figures with the 155 so if they right about the 145 being just as quick I don’t know.
Being the Citroen nut that I am my Citroen Dealer Thomas and Davies would have let me take out new models many of times but I drive with Hand Controls.

mad to think if he hadn’t had a New Citroen Saxo Automatic in 1997 I was 10 at the time he had it just over a year after the Parachute Accident I wouldn’t be the Citroen nut that I am today. He had that first one on DLA SSAFA helped out with his driving lessons and Hand Controls.

Yeah all paint free of charge to Motability customers. I had the same red on the C4 was a stunning. Colour. Citroen missed a trick not putting it in my out going C5 Aircross.
be interesting how you find the hybrid. Shame I can’t test drive any as many times over the years my Citroen Dealer knowing the Citroen nut that I am would have let me taken new models out for a spin. But I drive with hand controls.

My May 2021 Citroen C4 1.2 155 Shine Plus EAT8 I had it for just shy of 4 and half years done just under 27,000 miles.
All it had was 4 services, 2 MOTs and 4 tyres.
On The Road Retail Price When New Dealer 1st registration. Fee etc £27,605
Price without VAT £22.150Went through Wilson’s Auctions last week I don’t know how much for but a guide Cap Clean Price was £11,800
Now a car dealer in Cwmbran has it up for £14,895.
I also paid £1.195 advance payment on it.
so I don’t think Motability done too bad out of my lease extension.

If you can get a test drive buddy definitely as in general the New C3 Aircross has had positive feedback but my salesman buddy recently handed one over to a Motability customer who was coming from the old C3 Aircross 1.2 130 EAT6 she told him the next day she will have to ring Motability about having it back and changing to something else as she finds the seat too uncomfortable compare to the other car.
Granted mind they have handed over quite a few now and she is the only one that’s complained about it.

The service manager at my Citroen Dealer was telling me Motability wants videos now of any jobs that needs doing before authorisation including wipers.

Think I went with the right choice. The he new model was tempting mind especially as I sat in one in the showroom but I think I will save money with the diesel too. Mind that C4 I had 70mpg out of it a few times cruising down the M5.
my favourite feature of this new car is the electric drivers seat. The seat in my C4 every couple of times getting in and out it was drop down. So would have to adjust it again then to get my driving position just how I like it.

I pick up my new car Saturday. Only thing after 20 and half years I’ll have to remember the fuel cap on the drivers side. All my other Citroens been on the passenger side lol.

Went to see the new car Friday. My number plates been put on the new car. Just waiting on AIC in Cardiff now to fit the adaptions.
trouble is more I drive the C4 the more I don’t want to give it back lol 😂 going to miss my little pocket rocket.

Thomas and Davies in Merthyr has always put £25 in. Whether it’s a retail or Motability car.
and that’s after they have taken my car to Cardiff and back for the adaptions they put the £25 in the day I pick it up.

My late friend Gary was a low mileage driver and before he gave up driving for good in 2020 after having his new car for 9 months he sadly passed in 2021 his sons said to him a few times over the previous 5 years maybe why don’t you give the car up.
he said to me it’s there if I need it anytime I want. I am ok financially so I rather have the car knowing it’s there.
I did put him in a petrol for the last car though as with his mileage getting lower I was concerned the Diesel would get DPF issues.

Ah I used those Lynx Handcontrols on hire cars for my late brother back in early 2013.
I love the black wheels. Wanted them in my red car but was only available in Europe. Then they started fitting the exact same ones on the ë-series model. Even the same style alloy as the petrol and diesel models.
Yeah like the C3 Aircross Hybrid there no flappy paddles to change gear either I would definitely miss that. Citroen has skimpt a bit in the spec of that model.
I think I made the right choice with the outgoing C5 Aircross. I already have experience of the 1.5BlueHDi 130 EAT8 with the sisters car. Will take some getting used to mind. Drove the C4 again today up Brecon the 1.2 155 makes me smile every time.

Ah Rhodgie when I changed the Cactus back in 2021 that’s the first thing I missed was the glass roof, granted it wasn’t an opening one like on the C4 but I loved it. Often when up the cemetery visiting the family especially during Covid when travel was restricted I go and park under a tree go and lie on the back seat looking up at the trees through the roof and have a snooze.
I can see why you have it. I couldn’t have stretched to the £800 cost of it though plus I would have had to wait months I was lucky this one was due into the country that week I ordered it. I did have to forgo the red fog lamp surrounds but I didn’t care if it meant getting the car earlier as you no doubt know what it was like during Covid.
I have been in a ë-C4 as a passenger as I drive with hand controls hence being the passenger. The Service Manager who I have know since I was a kid when my late brother had his first Saxo back in 1997 his mother in law has one so he took me out for a spin in it and I was impressed fairplay.
he was telling me as well the adaptive cruise works better on the ë-C4 compare to my petrol as example on a motorway your catching a lorry it slows a bit then you move over to overtake well my petrol has a delay for a second or 2 where as the ë-C4 the acceleration is instant.
what colour has your wife got?
and your right about comfort it doesn’t have the massage seats but its still comfortable I drove back from Cornwall non stop Friday morning 180 miles and was a pleasure to drive.
I hope this C5 Aircross lives up to it

I can understand where you’re coming from Bandit. As you most probably agree it’s a lovely car Citroen really upped its game with the C4 over the previous one and I will be really sad to see this one go but I think the extra height in the C5 Aircross will be a big help to me
And for the electric versions yeah you are a bit low on choice as far as Citroen concerned.
The C3 Aircross Extended Range a nice car but the spec compare to the C4 is a bit below par. No keyless entry and start. 1 remote key. No adaptive cruise control. The reverse camera isn’t like on the C4.
and unfortunately there no option to add any of those above.
don’t get me wrong mind my Citroen Dealer has had a lot of orders for them and as I say it’s a nice car but it’s a drop in spec and your paying more than what the ë-C4 was.

Well seeing how prices are this quarter and even though I still got 6 months left with my C4 as its on a lease extension I bit the bullet and ordered a new car.
Being a Citroen nut I had 3 options
have another C4 but the 1.2 130 EAT8 Max which has less spec and less power than what my current one has at £2,499. I paid £1,195 for my 155 back in May 2021
New C5 Aircross 1.2 145 Hybrid Plus at £2,999
or the out going C5 Aircross 1.5BlueHDi 130 EAT8 Max Edition at £2,499.
So I have gone for the out going C5 Aircross BlueHDi. My Dealer managed to get me the last one in eclipse Blue as well. Should get it by Mid November.
I shall miss the C4 though as Jono will agree its a little pocket rocket and I have had really good fuel consumption out of it. She been the best car I ever had. we just had a great holiday down Cornwall. even went up to Doc Martins cottage in it

I park on Torquay sea front regularly opposite Abbey Park the disabled bay is 4 hours but parking in the normal bay with a blue badge there no restriction so that’s what I do now.

Apart from my first car the other 5 cars I’ve had I have had JG Hand Controls and my late brother did I can’t fault them. City Motors in Cardiff been brilliant over the years.

I made the same mistake back in 2019. Maddening really the car was dead on 4 years and 11 months old so I lost out. on £200

I know Stellantis Group is struggling for parts at the moment for the gearbox on the Hybrid hence why they recently took the 2008 Hybrid off the scheme and re added the 1.2 130 EAT8.
The Citroen C4 been available with the hybrid for over 6 months now but still not available on the scheme. Just the 1.2 130 EAT8.
