Well she 2 years old today, turned 10,000 miles on my way back from Somerset on Thursday.
it’s booked in for its service on Tuesday.
So how has the 2 years been? It’s been great hasn’t missed a beat and it’s the best car I’ve ever had, so comfortable it eats the miles up.
Fuel consumption well I’ve had 70mpg out of it on a couple of occasions. The power well let’s to just Ive left some boy racers stared face when I’ve pulled away and left them for dust lol.
I have done Slideshows of each year I’ve had the car been to some stunning places
First Year
Second Year
I will definitely be extending my lease next year to 5 years.
Nice evening down on Blue Anchor, Somerset

Glad you’re still enjoying it Lee. They’re definitely a comfortable ride. 10k in two years? Done just over 2k and coming up for two months?
May 28, 2023 at 9:52 pm #222592Oh yeah I love it. I do a lot of long runs in it but the first month I had it I was laid up for 3 weeks as I had eye surgery.
Winter months I don’t really go far like.
Miles I’ve put on the cars over the years
2005 C3 1.6 Exclusive SensoDrive in 3 years I put 22,000 on it
2008 C2 1.6 VTR SensoDrive 14,400
2011 C3 1.6i Exclusive Auto 7,900
2014 C3 Picasso 1.6 Exclusive EGS6 in 4 years and 11 months 24.050
2019 C4 Cactus 1.2 Flair EAT6 in 2 years and 2 months I put 10,500 miles on it.
I took the miniature with me to Blue Anchor as well lol

May 29, 2023 at 1:10 pm #222614Had my C4 shine plus 155 a month now and love it. Does your C4 have three colour choices for the display, red, blue and brown? Mine has only blue and brown but the test car had all three colours.
May 30, 2023 at 2:58 pm #222722Yeah it does but I know someone who had one last year a 2022 22 plate and theirs only got the 2 options like yours.
Service went well nothing to report back they replaced my wipers for me as they started to smudge but not bad going as the ones changed were the originals from new.

June 17, 2023 at 9:25 am #223657Have you seen what the best car to own is in 2023 according to Auto Express. Telling us what we already know.
June 19, 2023 at 11:28 am #223799Someone did post it on the group I set up on Facebook.
It is a lovely car mind. Shame they dropped the 155 engine I got but emissions rules put an end to that.
the Sales manager at my Citroen Dealer he was driving a C5 Aircross 1.6 180 EAT8 when I ordered my C4 and he had a customer have a 155 that week and he said that the C4 155 was better in his opinion.

March 2, 2024 at 11:52 pm #260062I’ve extended my lease for 2 years on the old girl. All simple done through the online account. Even the insurance documents were updated within minutes.
I nearly went to order a C5 Aircross 1.5BlueHDi EAT8 Max but my mam is poorly at the moment been sent home from hospital where she shouldn’t have been so my heart not really in it plus I do like this car. The 1.2 155 pulls really well and I got the power when needed plus it’s been economical. I’ve only put 12,500 miles on it.
Plates are different since early photos as I have a private plate in my late brothers memory on it since last October.

Current Car: Hyundai Kona Premium EV...2 way 40kg hoist
Last Car: Toyota C-HR Excel Hybrid...4 way 80kg hoistMarch 3, 2024 at 2:31 pm #260085This is something I find strange on my behalf. Interior and comfort are top priority for me. Citroen has both and I like the recent Citroen cars a lot, but I’ve never considered having one.
March 6, 2024 at 3:09 am #260360Thank you struth. Been a bit of a shambles with the hospital and the ambulance service but that’s another story. Appreciate the kind comment.
as for the car some know I am a Citroen nut but I do know they not perfect but this car been the best I’ve ever had. This is my 6th car all been Citroens of course I’ll always have a soft spot for my first car but Citroen has really upped their game the last few years.
My late brother 2 months before he passed away back in 2013 was on his 7th car alao Motability car that was a C4 1.6eHDi 115 Exclusive EGS6 which was a nice car even though o my got to drive it for 2 months but this C4 I got now I think he would have loved it. It’s come a long way. Drives lovely the EAT8 box so smooth. The 155 gives a great punch of power when you need it. Shame the 155 is no more due to emissions getting stricter.
Now according to figures the 1.2 136 Self Charging Hybrid 6 speed dual clutch automatic that is going on the C4 from this month is suppose to be just as quick. AP hasn’t been released yet though but still even if it’s still the same as the 1.2 130 EAT8 Max it costs more than what I paid for this 155 in 2021.
Spec Wise between the Max and my Shine Plus
Gains
Heated Steering Wheel as standard on the Auto (I use a steering ball anyway so not really a again for me)
The Touchscreen Software like in the C5 X which consists of wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, other the air updates to the Sat Nav and Firmeware, better graphics and a Shark Fin Aerial
Loses
well obviously the 155 lol
Leather Interior. Can’t even get it as an Option on the Max only on the fuel electric ë-series model
Highway Assist
Wireless Phone Charger
Subwoofer
and one little thing I don’t like Citroen for they no longer wrap the front A Pillars anymore only if you pay £300 for a black roof. I’m my option I think it makes the car that bit nicer but that just my preference some may like it all coloured.
some of that kit my 155 has is standard on the ë-series fully electric which in Nil AP at the moment which is a great deal for someone who wants to go fully electric.
Did I say I was a Citroën Nut lol
looking forward to the nice weather again to go down Somerset hopefully North Devon as well. Obviously lucky to have Brecon Beacons on my door step too. Hope my mam will be well enough to come out with me. Sad seeing her looking frail I live with her so seeing the difference in her is upsetting but hope she improves soon.

October 20, 2025 at 9:15 pm #316030Well seeing how prices are this quarter and even though I still got 6 months left with my C4 as its on a lease extension I bit the bullet and ordered a new car.
Being a Citroen nut I had 3 options
have another C4 but the 1.2 130 EAT8 Max which has less spec and less power than what my current one has at £2,499. I paid £1,195 for my 155 back in May 2021
New C5 Aircross 1.2 145 Hybrid Plus at £2,999
or the out going C5 Aircross 1.5BlueHDi 130 EAT8 Max Edition at £2,499.
So I have gone for the out going C5 Aircross BlueHDi. My Dealer managed to get me the last one in eclipse Blue as well. Should get it by Mid November.
I shall miss the C4 though as Jono will agree its a little pocket rocket and I have had really good fuel consumption out of it. She been the best car I ever had. we just had a great holiday down Cornwall. even went up to Doc Martins cottage in it

October 21, 2025 at 11:02 am #316049I think that’s a solid choice Lee. I drove the C5 air cross when looking prior to getting the eC4 and it was a lovely ride and drive.
I’ve been happy with the eC4 but am finding it too low now. There’s nothing in the EV slot from Citroen at the moment that has a suitable desire/AP combo for me so I’ve nothing from them shortlisted at present, come the Dec reorder window.
October 21, 2025 at 4:52 pm #316071I can understand where you’re coming from Bandit. As you most probably agree it’s a lovely car Citroen really upped its game with the C4 over the previous one and I will be really sad to see this one go but I think the extra height in the C5 Aircross will be a big help to me
And for the electric versions yeah you are a bit low on choice as far as Citroen concerned.
The C3 Aircross Extended Range a nice car but the spec compare to the C4 is a bit below par. No keyless entry and start. 1 remote key. No adaptive cruise control. The reverse camera isn’t like on the C4.
and unfortunately there no option to add any of those above.
don’t get me wrong mind my Citroen Dealer has had a lot of orders for them and as I say it’s a nice car but it’s a drop in spec and your paying more than what the ë-C4 was.

October 21, 2025 at 8:01 pm #316077@CF21LEE I’m just catching up on this thread and to say my wife has the e-C4 and she loves it (private bought not MB), it is probably the most comfortable car we’ve driven, although my saab 95 seats were better 😁 but the ride is just sublime and given that it was spec’d with a sunroof and heated massage seats just makes every trip a joy. It doesn’t get many long trips as I’ve got an Ioniq 6 but I’d happily travel the country in it. Hope you get as much joy from the C5 as the C4 gave you 🤞
October 21, 2025 at 11:00 pm #316082Ah Rhodgie when I changed the Cactus back in 2021 that’s the first thing I missed was the glass roof, granted it wasn’t an opening one like on the C4 but I loved it. Often when up the cemetery visiting the family especially during Covid when travel was restricted I go and park under a tree go and lie on the back seat looking up at the trees through the roof and have a snooze.
I can see why you have it. I couldn’t have stretched to the £800 cost of it though plus I would have had to wait months I was lucky this one was due into the country that week I ordered it. I did have to forgo the red fog lamp surrounds but I didn’t care if it meant getting the car earlier as you no doubt know what it was like during Covid.
I have been in a ë-C4 as a passenger as I drive with hand controls hence being the passenger. The Service Manager who I have know since I was a kid when my late brother had his first Saxo back in 1997 his mother in law has one so he took me out for a spin in it and I was impressed fairplay.
he was telling me as well the adaptive cruise works better on the ë-C4 compare to my petrol as example on a motorway your catching a lorry it slows a bit then you move over to overtake well my petrol has a delay for a second or 2 where as the ë-C4 the acceleration is instant.
what colour has your wife got?
and your right about comfort it doesn’t have the massage seats but its still comfortable I drove back from Cornwall non stop Friday morning 180 miles and was a pleasure to drive.
I hope this C5 Aircross lives up to it

October 21, 2025 at 11:21 pm #316087I too drive with hand controls in my own car but for the occasional time in her car I’ve got a set of Lynx controls which connect directly to the pedals, not great for long term use but good enough if I need to drive another automatic.
Not sure what the colour is called but think it’s only available on the EV version

October 21, 2025 at 11:27 pm #316088The e-C4 has done about 20k in 4 years, the Ioniq has done 32k in 15 months 😱😂😂
October 22, 2025 at 10:55 am #316116That’s the same colour as mine @Rhodgie Iceland blue I think it’s called, something like that.
Lee, yeah definitely haven’t faulted the comfort over it’s time. The C3 air cross isn’t anywhere near as well appoint, you’re right and I think it’s ap is too high. I am going to take a look at its Vauxhall cousin the Frontera but as it stands my current first choice is the Inster. Subject to test drive etc.
October 27, 2025 at 6:42 pm #316351Ah I used those Lynx Handcontrols on hire cars for my late brother back in early 2013.
I love the black wheels. Wanted them in my red car but was only available in Europe. Then they started fitting the exact same ones on the ë-series model. Even the same style alloy as the petrol and diesel models.
Yeah like the C3 Aircross Hybrid there no flappy paddles to change gear either I would definitely miss that. Citroen has skimpt a bit in the spec of that model.
I think I made the right choice with the outgoing C5 Aircross. I already have experience of the 1.5BlueHDi 130 EAT8 with the sisters car. Will take some getting used to mind. Drove the C4 again today up Brecon the 1.2 155 makes me smile every time.
