today ive been on test drives of the c3 hybrid max and the c3 aircross max.

i love the interior esp the steering wheel and cockpit display they call it a hud but its not really.

the seats are very comfortable on all road surfaces and speeds.

the aircross can be a bit wallowy on bends but then its citroen suspension so expected. the c3 is a little more planted and yo can chuck it into corners a bit more almost mini ish.

neither engine is particularly quick but enough considering most of my driving now is under 50mph.

overall if pressed i would go for the c3 max hybrid in red at zero ap on wpms. it has enough boot and cabin space for me and the in/out works fine and the seats are comfy which at the moment is my priority.

the aircross obv does have considerbley more space all round but do i want to pay 540 for it? i dont need it 99% of the time so i wont go for it.

so the cheapest option is what i will go for in feb.

Good to hear, they are suitable vehicles and can be added to your list:-)

Did you test drive the MG ZS Hybrid+, as thats not alot of money either?

          Glad you liked them buddy.

Did you feel much difference in power between the C3 110 hybrid and the C3 Aircross 145?

according to Citroens figures for the C4 the 1.2 145 supposed to be as quick as my old C4 1.2 155 EAT8.

mind I beat Citroen fuel consumption figures with the 155 so if they right about the 145 being just as quick I don’t know.

Being the Citroen nut that I am my Citroen Dealer Thomas and Davies would have let me take out new models many of times but I drive with Hand Controls.

its annoying you War Pensioners lost the Auto grant my late brother a Para veteran found it handy.

mad to think if he hadn’t had a New Citroen Saxo Automatic in 1997 I was 10 at the time he had it just over a year after the Parachute Accident I wouldn’t be the Citroen nut that I am today. He had that first one on DLA SSAFA helped out with his driving lessons and Hand Controls.

i think the difference in size negates the difference in hp, but both were nippy enough for overtaking and getting away from junctions and suprisingly the c3 actually has a bit of a growl if you floor it which would make you think it was something with more grunt. i actually did a second circuit because it took me by suprise and i wasnt sure i heard right.

havent test driven the mg yet going to arrange that tommorrow for as soon as possible as well as the juke tekna hybrid. it is a shame the auto grant has gone as that has cut my budget in half. the c3 at zero ap is favourite obv but the mg zs trophy for £115 is close and has all the toys as does the juke at £452.

my mileage has nosedived since “retiring” so a motorway cruiser is not needed and if i am honest neither is a big boot etc. so the citroens make sense.

i am awaiting tests as they think i have peripheral vascular disease which may complicate matters and put me in a chair sooner than expected so i may need extra boot space.

worst case senario i could lose a foot/leg not immediately obviously but depending on progression it could get nasty pretty quickly, as if the current issues werent enough.

jan prices will be the first consideration and then the test results hopefully all before ordering on 28th feb.

at least i have at least 2 options that will work within budget.

2 test drives to go lol.

The Citreon (Stellantis) 110 hybrid is the base mild hybrid engine. The 145 is a full hybrid and will propell itself short distances on electric and is the most economical engine of the two, similar to the full hybrid Juke.

ah that makes sense i did wonder and hadd drafted that as one of my questions following the test drives. so that may nudge me towards the aircross. i do like the green colour you can get that in. or the c3 it would be black or red.

I definately test the new MG ZS hybrid+ as it gets decent reviews and is a decent size for getting in and out and will have all the kit in Trophy trim.

If these along with the Juke become your top 3, I’d probably arrange another test drive in all 3 on the same day and then make your decision.

zs hybrid+ trophy test drive booked for 24th jan. it gives the jan prices chance to land and settle down. going to set up a juke tekna tommorrow. so far so good all test drives have been exact model and trim.
