Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.

So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

So after 27 very impatient weeks, it’s collection day.  It’s fair to say I’m excited.

Postponed my collection from today until Friday due to me having the sh1ts and feeling sick, went 5 times in space of 15 mins at 8.00am.

Did you know that you have to wait another 4 days (rule) if you cancel an already booked collection day,or the dealership gets fined.

@collie hope your day goes well, dont forget pics and a first impression of your car.

                Got it this afternoon.

                My first question.

My expert at the dealership asked me to install the MySkoda app from the Play Store,he did most of the setting up on my phone and the car i just followed his promts.

Is this a security feature of the MySkoda app, where when i open/start my phone (not the app) it asks for the shape i drew on the screen joining the dots up and then the phone opens to the home screen.

Think that may be an Android thing. I use iPhone and don’t have to do anything. Just open the App.

Thats just standard android phone lock password, you can choose a pin code, word or draw a pattern.

You go to settings, security, screenlock and turn it off, however im wondering if the skoda app forces you to have a screen lock active whilst it’s installed?

If it does, do you have a fingerprint scanner on your phone ?

If so just use fingerprint unlock instead

It’s just the Android OS, the Skoda App doesn’t need or install any security lock.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Took me  sometime to find an answer, and its what you say,i think “my expert” must have change the lockscreen to that “pattern” one whereas before it was just a plain old swipe.

Put it back to swipe now.

Just opened the Skoda app for the first time and on the “car” tab i have

                          Vehicle Status…………Locked

Battery Range 87%/292 mi……not plugged in

                          Target Temperature 22 c……………….off

                          Charging Location………………no locations set up

I wonder if the pattern lock screen was put on so if anyone got my phone they would’nt be able to unlock the car.

Very probably, you really need to lock your phone, as well as access to your car it accesses all your personal stuff. My iPhone will only unlock when it sees my face or a 6 digit code if I’m wearing sunglasses.

Hopefully the handover went well MickC. I collected mine on Tuesday and agree with everyone who says it was worth the wait. It’s a great car.

My dealer has been excellent. It was fully charged for us and he spent plenty of time talking us through everything in the car. He even called this afternoon to ask how we were getting on and if we had any questions or problems. It’s been a long wait, 28 weeks, but having driven it now for 4 days, that is all a distant memory.

And hats off to Motobility, our good condition bonus is in the bank already.

From what I’ve read the locking system isn’t hooked up to the connect gateway, it gets the lock status as on obd but it can’t actuate it as it’s not hooked up to recieve a command to. Maybe the info I have is wrong it’s all 3rd hand but either way I haven’t been able to figure out a way to do it. I’d love to be wrong even the MG ZS manages that

You can unlock ours from the app. It asks for the s pin first. I got it wrong and don’t want to try again, anyone know what the default s PIN code is?

Does it actually work though? You’re very lucky if it does the Internet is full of people moaning about the fact app unlocking doesn’t exist on the Enyaq yet it does on Skoda ice cars.

Whatever they’ve done in the new beta the app is loads more responsive

There isn’t a default spin it’s set when you setup your account on my Skoda, if I recall correctly. I found this advice on reseting it

I found you cannot do it through the mobile App. But if you log on with a computer its easy.

                                                Go to https://www.skoda-connect.com/

Click on the little face top right hand corner of page.

                                                Click Settings

Notifications will open but click on the right hand tab: S-Pin

Then drop down the menu on Reset S-Pin

Tbh doesn’t bother me only I wanted was the remote aircon altho I would like remote control of heated seats and steering wheel so they can be preheated lol. That’s that explained then
