Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

The differences in V2G are the differences between on board and off board charging. From what I’ve seen there’s room for both for different reasons but for DC the plug and cable costs €500 before any electronics that’s the problem there
October 9, 2024 at 11:53 am #290621Tbh u the time you buy all of that you could buy a home battery system that would give you more flexibility and better results. Don’t forget even if you do all of that there’s limits on usage and it’s OK for us who never own the car but if you own it why would you want to take life out of you fifty grand car? It’s a nice idea but looking at the details it’s not really practical. Out of curiosity what is the OP looking to run that means without V2l the Enyaq is out? Just being nosy really. Obviously you’re taking power thru the charging port so you can’t use that power whilst driving. If it’s for charging a decent truse sinewave inverter could do that from 12v if its camping if it were me I’d look at portable power banks some of these now can put out and store a lot of power. I wonder if those options mean you have more choice of car it might be worth considering.
V2H is the easy part as it intergrates through a Bidirection charger with your home/grid (V2x), through the charging port. Think of it as one very big battery storage system.
V2L is essentially the same princple, with the exception it is primarily geared up to power a morowave, toaster fridge, kettle etc. Thats not to say V2L can’t power appliances, charge a home battery or assist with a powercut, within your home or even run the home, becase it can, it just needs to be intergrated in a different way and act more like a generator, incorporating a automatic or manual transfer switch.
Hyundai/Kia for example, also allow you to make use of V2L, whils’t on the move or camping (if thats your forte), by the use of an in cabin socket aswell as the charging port. MG have V2L but I’m not sure if its only from the charge port.
Useing a 12v inverter of the 12v battery in a EV, when there’s a large battery bank available kind of defeats the object and we know EV’s are tempremental with their 12v batteries at the best of times.
October 9, 2024 at 11:54 am #290622@Collie Yep it’s a 25, 10th digit is an S. we had already ordered Ecosuite in January, maybe that’s why we got it.

October 9, 2024 at 11:59 am #290624Rich for me it would have been car camping. In hindsight the logical thing for me to do would have been going for the much bigger Enyaq with mild 4×4 and lower ap then buying a power bank with the money saved on ap.
October 10, 2024 at 8:53 pm #290755Ordered a graphite grey 85x, it is already in Grimsby docks. Anyone else interested the dealership group have a Black one a White one a Blue one available too.

October 10, 2024 at 10:05 pm #290756MickC, you’re going to love it! Worth all the waiting for!
I’m so impressed with the car, the ease of charging and just the whole advances in technology, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to an ICE car!
Post us some photos when you get the car!

I will put some pics up.
Got to swop my tariff with British Gas over to the Ev tariff.
Do you use the Ohme app ? or do you just charge the car anytime anywhere ?
I’m sure i will be asking more questions.
October 12, 2024 at 8:47 am #290816We have the Enyaq and just “dumb” charge, by plugging in when Peak Save events happen. We have British Gas and make the most of the Peak Save Sunday and Green Flex events where electricity is half price.
The current EV tariff for us is 7.9p (12-5am) but the normal daytime rate is 26.9p standing charge is 49.88p. Our current tariff is 23.03p and standing charge is 46.94p. The higher daytime rate means it’s not worth switching if we can charge for 11p during Peak Save events.
We’d save 3.13p by charging at night (based on 11p Peak Save rate) but pay 3.86p more for all our daytime use plus the increased standing charge, it’s just not worth it.

Will BG keep these peak save events rolling over winter. I read the PS Sunday has only being extented untill the last Sunday in December?

I’m currenty on the standard variable tariff (never switched) the rates are now >
Unit rate 24.74p per kWh
Standing charge 74.74p per day——————————————————————
The Electric Driver V11 Tariff for the Regular Payment Scheme is >
Off-peak unit rate (12am-5am) 8.89p per kWh
Peak unit rate 25.28p per kWh
Standing charge 72.66p per dayI wont be using the charger very much i generally do 100 miles in a week so the charger might be used twice a month (to 80%)
Which tariff would be best for me ?
October 12, 2024 at 10:08 am #290819There is another tariff fixed for 12 months >
Fixed Tariff 12M v15 for the Regular Payment Scheme.
Unit rate 24.74p per kWh
Standing charge 58.30p per dayOctober 12, 2024 at 10:36 am #290821@kezo They keep extending it, was supposed to finish July, they extended to September. If you are with BG you can change to another BG tariff anytime without a penalty fee. So if they do scrap Peak Save you can move to an EV tarriff.
@MickC I don’t think you need an EV tariff for 100 miles a week, personally if you’re with BG I’d register for Peak Save and charge on a Sunday. @Brydo is the best person to advise on energy tariffs.Enyaq EV
October 12, 2024 at 10:38 am #290822Another thing if i stay on the variable rate tariff or change to the fixed rate tariff that means i can charge in the daytime,at night i have foxes come for their chicken wing feast every nite and i know they are inquisitive and can possibly see them being naughty and chewing on the charging cable.
October 12, 2024 at 10:57 am #290824I’ve been a follower for a while so thank you for all the advice and information. I orderedEnyaq 85x Sportline Plus at end of May and its now in UK due at dealers next week. Can anyone give me the boot dimensions please I’ve looked everywhere!
I need interior width height and length to back of back seats and then to back of front seats. just working out if I can pick up a chair in it !

They would only do it once!
It might be advisable to ride out higher energy prices if you can and look at fixing in April when the prices start to come down, depending on the mileage you do.
October 12, 2024 at 1:01 pm #290833Position the car so the cable is pulled enough to keep it off the ground without putting too much tension on it, failing that put matting over it or buy something with bitrex in it and put that on the cable
October 12, 2024 at 1:21 pm #290837October 12, 2024 at 1:37 pm #290840Sorry if this has been asked & answered elsewhere on the forum – but does the Enyaq come with the IV cable storage bag in the boot or is this a dealership accessory?

Our’s didn’t come with a bag, there’s a storage space for it under the boot liner, I don’t think it would fit there if it were coiled up in a bag. The Ohme installer gave us a cable bag branded with their name on it. Never used it.

October 12, 2024 at 6:51 pm #290897Thank you – that’s where I’d like to keep the cable – I don’t want under the boot floor especially when my wheelchair is in the boot

mine did in March but I suspect they are discontinued as the IV branding has ceased so they were just probably shifting surplus stock.

On British Gas you can swop tariffs without any penalty £’s as long as you move to another British Gas tariff.
With that in mind i guess i should swop to the tariff with the lowest standing charge.
