I’m sure all of you who have one on order, have been eagerly waiting (as of I) for Q1 24 to see what will be updated… and now the msport is available! (With 3 different packs too).
now the question on my head. If we want to switch to the msport model with the dealer, will they have to raise a whole new order with the factory, or will they be able to trim msport with the original factory slot?

It’s so strange how some BMW dealers handle amending an order from Sport to M Sport so differently, it is all down to the individual processing motability orders, the guy I spoke to is very laid back, had no issue in changing it and informed me it can be done, and he’s shown me evidence of the car internally changed to M Sport with the exact same build slot and order number as when I placed it in August.
Just thought I would update y’all. I changed from sport to m sport yesterday. Checked today and motability order showing it’s been updated to m sport with my original order date 24/8/23.
Also spoke to bmw genius this afternoon and they have confirmed order bas been updated to m sport. Still the same build slot which I had for the sport and schedule for week 10 production status 111. Can’t wait! ?
@yk genius told me mine is still showing 105 but e35 sport hasn’t changed to the m sport yet on their system either. Last update they have is from last Friday the day I changed it to the k sport, Majority including yourself is showing m sport. Wonder if it’s stuck in a queue somewhere or once it’s updated I should have something, reckon it’s worth contacting my dealer? Thanks
To add to this my motability shows application was made 05/01/23 I’ve heard everyone else’s showing their original date on motab when they ordered, but not sure if this affects anything re bmw order/schedule?
@Ayzee @GlosGuy which home charger did you guys pick, epod or pro? I see the difference just don’t know what’s easier to use.
Can’t help I’m afraid as I don’t have an EV! I’ve only been offering advice on this thread as I know a fair bit about BMW and was concerned that some people had been given duff, or only partially correct, info.
Yeah there does seem to be various different narratives around this and hopefully it all works out for everyone. Hard to see how build spots could be lost when they are essentially the same cars.

At last! Someone has a dealer who’s done it ALL properly and has amended BOTH the order (with BMW) AND the admin (with Motability). If the M-Sport is removed from Motability tomorrow you are still going to get one!
@glosguy I had to go in on Friday, mine shows amended to m sport since friday on motab. But on genius its only showing status 105 sport, however this hasn’t been updated since the Friday 05/01 wonder what this means for me?

this to me sounds like the dealership has placed a new order for you and maybe a new build slot
if your motability order shows the recent date change and not your old date from September, and bmw status still showing sport without 111, this to me sounds like they’ve given you a new build slot or order number bro.
I would contact them tomorrow and investigate it further
@yk annoying if that is the case, have emailed him to clarify citing examples, he is out of office until Thursday. Why couldn’t I be straight forward like the others…
This would really annoy me if the dealer has said to you that you have the same build slot and then you have been given a different build slot as you would have sacrificed the sport order which was to be delivered soon for another 6 months wait at his ‘promise’ that he has kept the same slot. I dont understand these dealers as they wont gain anything from the order staying as sport or m sport so why cant they just be upfront and honest. My order did go from 111 to 105 but it went to 105 when it was sport order on 2/1/24 then when i requested it to be m sport it changed on 4/1/24 to 111 again.
@Ayzee i would check with dealer if its been sitting at 105 for too long as it means no production week available.@mm7 I will do just to double check did everyone get new order numbers after you’ve transferred to the m sport? Or everyone using new ones? Thanks
Just got the I4 sport order from August changed to the M-Sport Pro Pack from the original Sport. Changed the colour from Sapphire Black to Brooklyn Grey, as I’ve seen all colours in the dealership and Sport looks the best in Black but Brooklyn Grey is stunning in person.
The Tech pack is nice, HK audio and heads up. However Heads up is very gimmicky in my opinion and I don’t listen to as much music as I used to. The Pro pack seems like a more engaging drive and just makes the car look fantastic.
The seats and the roof lining make it feel a tad more premium compared to the Sport. Is it £2000 more premium? The variable steering is what tipped the favour in opting for the pro pack. Around town it’s so much better.

I presume they just got a build slot recently and the change is being done before going on the factory floor to be built.
I didn’t privy the details. The salesman sent me a follow-up email regarding my request to switch from the Sport, I’m going on his words being gospel and I have proof if that doesn’t end up being the case.

Seeing couple people having problems with switch over, I would recommend you check with bmw genius and your motability order account to see if changes have been made to confirm you’re definitely getting m sport

small update, called the dealership i do have a build slot, but i’ve been pushed back to end of may, original was end of feb, bit annoying. i also have a new order number i can track with, so at least i have a date in mind now roughly.
@Ayzee if you have a new order number it means he put it as a new order. My dealer also said to me that there are live slots and likely delivery May time but expect July. On the paperwork he will have to write July. I said it was a deal breaker for me and then next day he said he got it manually changed.
Im sorry this happened as I know your car was due quite early in March.
You have waited all this time, just another few months to get the car you actually want.That’s worrying as mine is also on 105 since Monday. I’ve mentioned to my dealer don’t change my sport to M-sport if it means I don’t get my delivery in march. As we don’t have a car at the moment.

ordered i4 M sport in Portimao blue with the pro pack..
dealer has said as I don’t want a home charger I’d receive £750 credit for public charging (first elec car) has anyone else heard of this?
also delivery date of around early April, when did you all get order codes etc, ordered last Thursday and haven’t had any communication since

I did find it strange as I’ve never heard of it myself, but the dealer is their mobility specialist and he was very confident that I would receive it.
not holding out for it but it will be a pleasant bonus if if I get it lol
@edd Is your motability account showing m sport update? If so has it shown the new recent date or old date?@candy I believe that’s correct however best to contact motability and find out
i’m getting the home charger installed + discounted ionity charging for 1 year through bmw
It still showing as sport but when I queried this with my dealer she advised they will change it as soon as my M-Sport is accepted by BMW.
