I’m sure all of you who have one on order, have been eagerly waiting (as of I) for Q1 24 to see what will be updated… and now the msport is available! (With 3 different packs too).
now the question on my head. If we want to switch to the msport model with the dealer, will they have to raise a whole new order with the factory, or will they be able to trim msport with the original factory slot?

Still 111 with a build date of 5/02/24, with the usual caveat of likely to change.
Mind you, that’s with sticking to the Sport in Skyscraper Grey, probably going to be a rare sight with all the current swapping to M Sport ??

Ive seen a few BMWs in Sanremo Green and I think it looks great. Distinctive and classy.
January 9, 2024 at 10:07 am #254413I’ve just changed mine to M-Sport and it’s now sat at 105. I hope it changes soon with the same build date 12th February.
January 9, 2024 at 11:13 am #254416changed to the m sport on friday, just checked again still on 105, i know @mm7 changed pretty sharpish so hopefully same for us…
January 9, 2024 at 11:50 am #254424Spec wise what’s the difference between the i4 sport and M sport
January 9, 2024 at 11:59 am #254427So I spoke to BMW genius and gave them the original order number which is still the same changing over from Sport to M Sport and they informed me it’s still showing as a Sport model but I spoke to the dealer who actually put through the changes and he’s got a system that can internally amend orders which uses a different programme to what is generally used with genius so they may not have the most update information and can be misleading. I would recommend to directly speak to the dealer involved in your order to find out if the same build slot is used, if it is the same and your expected delivery is for example in March as mine is then it will be built and delivered within that time I would wait til closer to production date (Feb) to track the order.
January 9, 2024 at 12:05 pm #254429Different steering wheel
Different 18″ alloys
Suede instead of cloth in middle of sensatec seats with blue stitching
Different bumper front and rear
Anthracite head lining
M badges.
Think i got it all everything else is same

It’s also critical to check that the dealer has cancelled the Sport on the Motability system and re-submitted a request for an M-Sport. This is completely different to the actual order of the car and is nothing to do with BMW. Until this happens, Motability have not authorised your M-Sport order and, if it disappears off the scheme, you might not be able to take delivery. As I’ve said before, both changes (the BMW order and the Motability admin) are equally critical. One is useless without the other! Your dealer has to do both.
January 9, 2024 at 12:28 pm #254432Still waiting for the dealer to change my order – they have said the dealership is changing hands so nothing has been done yet….might consider going elsewhere if nothing changes this week.

Hope it goes well for you.
Sounds like a red flag though. A dealer really should be able to carry on with business as usual during a change of ownership – assuming they give a damn of course.

January 9, 2024 at 1:07 pm #254441my order was manually changed with BMW by my dealer by calling the planning team. When he tried to do it online on the system it wouldent let him so he was honest and told me it would be new slots if he did it online. My status was 105 for a few days and then when he manually changed it and also queried my 105 status the next day it went back to 111.
my only issue now is on the motability site still shows as sport model with AP of £4250. its been a week now almost so not sure if I should be worried.

Sounds as though your dealer hasn’t changed the Motability admin. It only takes them a few minutes but it is absolutely critical that they do so. I fear that some are thinking that as long as the dealer has altered the order with BMW to an M-Sport then they are home and dry. They aren’t. Without both being changed there’s a risk of not ending up with the car.
January 9, 2024 at 1:27 pm #254447Thanks @Glos Guy i will chase my dealer maybe he just forgot.
January 9, 2024 at 3:22 pm #254463I have the option to choose between the Ohme epod and Ohme Pro which is the better version to choose and do they both charge at the same rate?
January 9, 2024 at 3:29 pm #254464I went for the epod as its more simple to use and no messy wiring to hang or wrap around. The pro has a display but they practically do the same thing. I believe both can be controlled by your phone anyway. I guess its whether you want to faff with getting a wire and sticking it in the charger then ur car or whether u want to faff with unwrapping the wire from the unit and then faff with wrapping it around again. Same kind of issues lol
the epod is more new compared to the pro. But the pro is more expensive to buy.
January 9, 2024 at 3:41 pm #254465According to my dealer, order slots cannot be amended into an M Sport configuration – but will need to be a new order slot all together. The plus is order slots for MSport were more available than sport, and thus they doubted my delivery will be any later even if I changed. My motability order was amended into the MSport trim straight away on approved applications, and I received a new order sheet to sign for MSport, but that is about it. My old order number still shows sport configuration when tracking with genius, but I believe I should ignore that. Has anyone here had their SAME order number which was created for the sport change to the MSport spec with bmw genius? If so, seems like good news for you
January 9, 2024 at 3:47 pm #254466@ryan hi Ryan, I used my old order number but it’s showing status 105, hasn’t changed yet. Wonder what that means for me? It’s all a bit confusing.
January 9, 2024 at 3:48 pm #254467January 9, 2024 at 3:51 pm #254468@Ayzee @GlosGuy which home charger did you guys pick, epod or pro? I see the difference just don’t know what’s easier to use.
January 9, 2024 at 3:53 pm #254470@Ryan not sure why your dealer has said that. I am using my exact same order number as before and confirmed with BMW genius that its m sport. Initially my dealer also said no to me but then they called and got it manually changed. I would ask your dealer to do that.
January 9, 2024 at 3:55 pm #254471January 9, 2024 at 4:11 pm #254472Spoke to my dealer today as I was clearing the last of the AP, and asked about the M Sport and if there would be a delay in swapping an order over (was asking out of curiosity after all the comments I’d read here).
He said that he had had at least 6 customers ask him the same thing and when he contacted BMW he was told that there was no way of telling until the order had been swapped over and it was processed by BMW. He advised that in doing so I would either keep my date of April this year or be pushed right to the back of the queue of those ordering the M Sport. So it was a gamble, in his words.
He didn’t seem as if he was trying to be awkward, he actually seemed to be being very honest and was willing to help me if he could, but I had already decided to keep the Sport.
