I’m sure all of you who have one on order, have been eagerly waiting (as of I) for Q1 24 to see what will be updated… and now the msport is available! (With 3 different packs too).
now the question on my head. If we want to switch to the msport model with the dealer, will they have to raise a whole new order with the factory, or will they be able to trim msport with the original factory slot?

Final review.
January 5, 2024 at 11:41 am #253953I’m not sure why everyone thinks that they can all of a sudden only keep their Motab car for 3 years.
I’ve seen the thread on this site, it was literally based on a chat with one Motab adviser, absolutely nothing was official.
You guys have been dealing with dealerships for a while now, I’m pretty sure you’re all aware of how false information coming from a representative can be.
I feel like this is a bad time for that rule to be implemented, especially now than ever when waiting times are so long. However of course I could be very wrong! I just don’t see how it can be taken more as a fact, just maybe be more cautious.January 5, 2024 at 12:10 pm #253956@Ryan i want to my current order for 5 years to justify the AP per year so i asked. See attached

I think you need to add park assist pro at build as this adds hardware for that to be enabled at a later date.January 5, 2024 at 12:18 pm #253964January 5, 2024 at 12:20 pm #253965The official line is:
We introduced two year automatic lease extensions due to the supply chain issues following COVID-19.
This helped our customers to keep mobile while they waited for their new car.As the supply chain is improving, from Wednesday 20 December, we’re changing the two year automatic lease extension back to six months.

Too many of us are now being told this for it to just be dismissed. There’s a lot of conflicting info and Motability really do need to clarify what constitutes “exceptional circumstances” urgently (that’s the same phrase they used to me), but I fear that people will ignore this at their peril
January 5, 2024 at 12:21 pm #253967Just a thought if the AP for the 3 series was the same as i4 (5-6K) would anyone opt out of the 4 and choose the 3 series instead? Also the advantage of having petrol.
January 5, 2024 at 12:23 pm #253968“exceptional circumstances” implies that it will be a very rare occurrence.

Exactly what I was told (and posted). However, you said a week ago that you had it on good authority that 2 years would still be allowed after April, if people request it. Is that now in doubt? Until Motability post that specific info on their website I think we have to assume that’s not an official line?
January 5, 2024 at 12:28 pm #253970I did forward an email that was sent to me:

Whilst I would much prefer a petrol car over an EV, and the engine in the 330e is a peach (plus an estate would be far more practical), I sat in a new 3 Series last week and it was exceptionally low down. I am told that the i4 is higher, but haven’t sat in one yet to test that out.

I’d want to see that info on the official website. No disrespect to you or whoever sent it to you, but it won’t be any good any of us saying that we had an assurance from an email posted on here. They will cite what the website clearly states and, as you have stated, we are all being told something entirely different.

None taken, i posted the info in the best interests of the forum users, in hindsight i should not have posted the email under my name. I agree wholeheartedly, six months extension is the norm and any increase will be in exceptional circumstances only.

January 5, 2024 at 12:41 pm #253975@Glosguy Both Saloon and Estate versions of the 3 series are available to order, I did test drive the 330e all I know is that it was rapid quick compared to a 330i. The i4 will be higher because of the batteries underneath the car but it’s not that noticeable at least not for me.
January 5, 2024 at 12:42 pm #253976I like the 330 but no the i4 represents much better value even if ap was the same and i just think the grand coupe style is much better looking.
January 5, 2024 at 1:15 pm #253978Hi guys, so went to the dealership this morning changed everything over to the m sport i4 with tech pack in black with lumbar support. Same build slot I was told at the dealership but he did call me back after I left and said tentative delivery date of July potentially, but he did say he will firm that up and let me know….
oh well it’s done now, the potentially (longer) wait begins. I will check with genius next week to see if anything has changed re build date.
January 5, 2024 at 1:16 pm #253979Just to add to that when I ordered the sport in September he did say June as worst case scenario so maybe he’s going by that…
January 5, 2024 at 1:18 pm #253980Have motability also done away with the option to extend based on low mileage? Under 15k miles I think it was and you could extend
January 5, 2024 at 1:28 pm #253981@Ayzee thats a little out of order if im honest. How did he say to you same build slot yet then say July. I would understand if it was delayed to April but July is another 6 months from now. I mean yes its done but i think its unfair. My dealer put 31/07/24 on the motability order form as delivery but the marshal order form handover date states 31/03/2024. Also its still not changed on the motability site to M sport, still states sport has yours changed ?
January 5, 2024 at 1:32 pm #253983@mm7 just checked it’s showing as approved with the pin and the new car details, have you checked yours? And yes I’m hoping for the best and will stay positive because they told me the same build slot, so a little confused but don’t have a choice now
January 5, 2024 at 1:39 pm #253985Does it say M sport With new AP
My car still says ordered and approved and has a pin too 03/09/23 for sports yet i signed everything yesterday and he even called to say he sent it all off….? i hope i havent got anything to worry about
January 5, 2024 at 1:51 pm #253986@mm7 yes it shows the new updated m sport spec and new AP, maybe give Motab a call? If he’s submitted his end should just go through on Motab
January 5, 2024 at 1:53 pm #253987Reassured, i just checked with genius and to my surprise my production date has been brought forward….confirmed correct model and colour and delivery for April 12th. I wont get too happy as you just don’t know with these things! (Considering yesterday my status was 105!)
