So to the lucky guys who’ve picked up their new cars a quick question. Have you charged to 100% yet and if you did what range was showing when you unplugged?

July 19, 2022 at 3:42 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #191141Here in sunny and very hot Stirling it’s currently 32°c and I won’t venture out to my car to see what it says haha, on a note about charging apps just on the off chance you might venture into Scotland in your kona download the Chargeplace Scotland app, you don’t NEED an RFID card but it can be helpful in a pinch. In the city of Stirling we have tons of 20kw chargers and about 10 50kw ones and all of them are FREE! In fact the only times I’ve had to pay I’ve been in different council areas and even then it’s not that expensive. Hope this I fo helps.

July 18, 2022 at 5:38 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #191078I can guarantee it isn’t the one with the dimples. To be honest I much prefer this look over the older shape.

July 12, 2022 at 10:51 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #190581Hello all, so over 6 weeks of ownership and I’ve finally managed to get a fairly representative photo of the jungle green/Misty Jungle paint colour. This picture doesn’t do it justice, for that if you’ve ordered it you’ll have to wait to see it in gorgeous sunshine.

July 9, 2022 at 5:44 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #190310Thanks for your reply Xz130 I have also looked at various how to vids on YouTube – but I didn’t find them to be that specific – my dealer doesn’t return from hols until 18th – but I will pose question then – I did learn that you need at least 64gb usb preferably fast 3 or more.
Yeah that’s correct, my update was 59gb I think, it took an hour or so and then rebooted itself and it was done.

July 9, 2022 at 5:28 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #190306Hi all – sorry about all these posts but I have been doing various searches to see if the dealership updates the software on the car as part of what they do from getting it from Tilbury until delivering it to us – I was trying to find a list of what the dealership do to the car before hand over and if software update was included. from my research I understand the last software update for navigation etc was end of May – one before that November. I will be putting this question to my dealer but wondered if any of you knew?
My car was running the Nov update and I had to do the update myself. Weirdly it didn’t work one one of my hard rives but it did on the second and I’m not too sure as to why. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.

July 8, 2022 at 11:19 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #190247I know some of you have recently acquired your Kona and a few more of us, with luck will join you, by the end of the month. Can any one throw some light on Hyundai Blue Link – I understand it comes with the car for the first five years and there is an app to download. I don’t mean the sales pitch – has anyone used it and is it useful? Thanks
Hi Tillyman, I use the Bluelink to check the star of charge at any time and also were I parked if I’m somewhere new. I find it useful because it tell me if I forgot to lock the doors or it tells me when my charging is complete which is very useful because I rely on public chargers. Overall I’d say it enhances the ownership experience of the car by helping you with multiple bits of info about the car.

Apologies in advance for the off topic question; could someone tell me if an adult self-propelled wheelchair fits in the Kona boot? Photographs most welcome. Have a great day guys.
my wheelchair does fit but it blocks most of the view in the rear view mirror. My chair has easily removable wheels which make it easier to fit

July 5, 2022 at 5:08 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #190020That’s a handy saving Xz130 How are you liking the colour – Misty Jungle with light grey interior is what I chose – I understand – jungle green is the same thing – when I chose there wasn’t an opportunity to see the colour for real.
it’s a intriguing colour, it’s really hard to photo to show it off but, when it’s parked in the sun it’s a beautiful colour that gets people’s attention.

July 5, 2022 at 4:25 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #190013Hi Muttzmuttz You will also need your order number – which your dealer can give you, if you haven’t already got it – I had to ask my dealer for mine. Thanks for the update and tips Xz130. Wow 3k in a month that will take me 3 months – so you must have made a good saving on fuel already. Enjoy your car – my anticipation is building – getting more and more into Big kid mode.
I have just done the math and saved £610. 74 in just a month. I love this car

July 5, 2022 at 1:05 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #189990<p style=”text-align: left;”>I got my Kona almost a month ago and have put nearly 3000 miles on it in that time. I can say hand on heart that all of you will have your patience rewarded. It’s a fantastic car to live with and drive. From a comfort side of things I have been able to drive for longer periods than my ioniq and charging is simple. One warning note though. Change the automatic door unlock from Park to manual mode as I nearly had the charging door ripped off by an automated car was as if put the car in park and the car wash exerted enough pressure on the flap to open it up. Apart from that 1 month and 3000 miles has been a breeze.</p>

June 24, 2022 at 8:27 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #189157Yeah I’m in a similar situation as I have no drive. There are a host of chargers near here and the coverage of CPS is excellent and I plan to make use of it it on my 1st big road trip from here to The outer Hebrides.

June 24, 2022 at 10:08 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #189080so it’d be great if we could have it for then to give it a good run, and test the charging infrastructure up here.
the charging infrastructure is great up here and if you use the chargeplace Scotland app that will cover most spots for you, in Stirling their points are a locations are free.

Hi @Vaun, I’ve charged it twice to 100% one was a 7kw charger and the other was a 48kw rapid charger. I’m stuck slightly as I don’t have off street parking unless I pay to have my garden fence cut down and paying for a dropped kerb. I know ranges vary from what the manufacturer says they’ll do but I’m not even getting to charge to the range in the brochure. I wonder if its software related. ??

Great range! How are people getting such big ranges? When I charge I get 254 miles and no more. I have to use public chargers so is the high mileage accomplished with a slow charger?

June 7, 2022 at 8:53 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #187809So I picked up my new car from Arnold Clark Hyundai Glasgow at 4:30 today, hopped in and drove straight up to my in-laws 171 miles away. I am already in love with this car. It drives fantastically and most importantly my back felt great after the 3 hour drive which, in my ioniq would have left me destroyed and need extra medication. I hope all of you waiting im/patiently for your cars to arrive get them soon. You’ll love it. Happy motoring.

May 25, 2022 at 1:26 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #186070Hi all Just received reply from my Motability dealer – Car to be shipped 31st May Arrival 19th July – then add 2 weeks until arrival at dealer. No idea which ship or why it appears to be longer at sea than others – presumably other stops on the way. So sounds like August / September – but at least it is info!!
Great news for you finally

May 23, 2022 at 2:14 pm in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #185944Great news Xz130 – I’m pleased for you. Were you notified when it was on the ship and given a VIN. Ordered mine late October – also misty jungle but ultimate and light grey trim. I asked my dealer for latest 12 days ago – still waiting for reply – I understand they are often having to wait for 2 weeks for update from supply. I bet you will be like a kid at Christmas counting down the days – enjoy?
Hi @Tillyman, I was never given a VIN but I was told it was on the ship in late February early March. I was in the dealership for a service on my Ioniq earlier this month when I was told it was in their compound awaiting pdi and adaptions to be fitted. If I were you I’d keep asking for info as that seems to be the only way to get anywhere.

Just to add a small point of view, most councils (in Scotland anyway) will let you run a cable across a pavement if you have a cable protector that is wheelchair/pram friendly and a sign warning of the trip hazard.

On my first car which was a Honda Jazz, I placed my order on a Monday and on the following Monday I was driving off the forecourt. Pretty pleased at the time.
