All in all it doesn’t fill me with confidence that this will be sorted anytime soon with DLM. The delivery of an adapted vehicle yesterday, means all drivers are now mobile again, so that in itself is a great help.

I will update as or when things develop.                                                                                                      Also cheers for the contact info kezo, appreciated?

On a separate matter, concerning my dad’s MB car, I couldn’t fault Motability in the slightest.

DLM again the stumbling block, but MB were great with sorting things out with them.

      Cheers all

I know nothing about the Enyak unfortunately, so info taken from experience with other manufacturers.

        @Dee49 re: seat movement,

is it possible the seat memory is key fob specific,
Automatic memory recall via each key fob used?
If not! I should raise the issue next time you are in contact with your dealer.

        re: usb music,
I recently had somewhat similar issues with a 2 month old hire car where the radio station had to be re-tuned every day,

I stumbled on my fix by accident,

Who would have thought that recording the driver seat position into memory, had the unknown effect of also storing the input I had made to the radio’s preference’s ie: my preferred radio station & favourites.

No more issues with the radio or my wireless Android Auto after I set the seat into memory.
only a small step sideways for a usb drive to follow the same approach.

Having door mirrors tied to seat memory is common, but also the infotainment system! that was definitely a surprise.

Ordered a Grandland Ultimate on 13 October & picking it up next week.

As a guide the expected delivery dates on the main Vauxhall website aren’t far off.

it’s currently quoting order now for delivery in May, so as mentioned a 4 months(ish) lead time.

@Badwolfe  As it’s your first scheme car, I bet that cancellation fell just at the right time for you, no having to wait for a minimum order / handover date.

Let’s hope it’s already built & not to long await.

jon56 yours can’t be far off now either.

Just received a call to inform us the Grandland we ordered has now landed at the dealership.

The Christmas ? holidays have pushed the needed adaptions back a little, but we’re looking at a collection date on the 10th January.
So just short of a 3 month turnaround on a factory order. A big improvement on noted Vauxhall delays from Q1 & 2 this year.

so from your order date, @8 weeks it might just be on ?‍? ?

With only 7 weeks left of 2023, things have definitely improved with Vauxhalls assembly plant. ?

jon56 is the benchmark, as his order had been placed a week before mine.

Just need that predicted snow fall to land after all our cars have been delivered ?

Good news more so for the daughter @jon56

                        me not so! Lol

Our daughter is the actual motability customer & due a lucky break, her driving test got rescheduled to October from an original date in December,

                        she passed first time.?

Gaining her full license earlier than expected had the knock on effect of an additional 2 month wait to have an adapted vehicle available to be able to get behind the wheel herself.

so the sooner the car arrives, the happier our daughter will be.?

Motability did state, that as soon as our daughter passed her driving test,

our current car would technically be classed as unsuitable owing to the fact the she wouldn’t be able to drive it, (that would have been fun if mid term)

Luckily our 3 year lease came to an end just at the right time, giving us the opportunity to place a new car order more suited for the daughter as a driver rather than a passenger.

All I need now is to put a bow & gift tag on a new set of car keys that’s this year’s present sorted ?

High hopes of an early Christmas present,

Having ordered our Grandland the middle of October,

the supplying dealer has now updated our initial 6 month wait & has advised that car is set to arrive at a uk port on 1st December.

It will still need to land at the dealership & have adaptions fitted, so picking it up this side of Christmas will be tight.

Definitely an improvement on lead times from earlier on this year.

Reason for asking is the Vauxhall car configurator today is now showing as available December. Previously the same Vauxhall web pages quoted March 24.

Might need to place a call into the dealer & check current status.

Been looking at a few cars over the last few weeks,

Altho the 3 cars have electric tailgate,

I can confirm that at least 1 (the other 2 are unknown) of them has full key fob open / close function,

but having seen a few cars last week & can’t specifically recall as to what dealer said what,

                              Nissan Qashqai: Tekna

                              Vauxhall Grandland: Ultimate

                              Sloda: Enyaq 80x sportline plus

Can’t confirm other trim / spec levels tho

Rather than 3 named drivers, can anyone confirm that adding a 4th named driver (with additional premium expected) is not possible?

Reason being 2 pip awards, (wife & daughter), but for the limited miles we do, i can’t justify having 2 scheme cars.

Motability are aware of us sort of car sharing & although it’s condoned in it’s T&C’s, it is what it is.

The reason being is the daughter is taking driving lessons, so when she passes?
2 disabled drivers with 2 partners!  hence the question?

                                TIA

On a side note with regards to adaptions, either motability or dvla!

Is a disabled driver, (other than the motability customer) able drive an adapted vehicle?

ie: do they need any certification that they have been trained / assessed / compliant / approved to drive an adapted vehicle (left foot accelerator)

The case being that the wife has had a previous stroke, (amongst other conditions) that left her with right side weakness, so a left foot accelerator sounds like a possible option?

Although the wife could use her pip award against her own motability vehicle, this would be unpractical & overkill to our needs.
So hopefully 1 adapted vehicle for 2 disabled drivers.

Waiting on a full adaptation assessment, then hopefully an adaptation specialist will give us the full heads up on vehicle suitability.

So far a mini is on her wish list, followed by a red mini, a yellow mini & a green mini with a Union Jack roof.

The annoying part of all this, is that a lot of cars these days have a reversing camera, yet have no ability to incorporate a sd card & make use of the already installed hardware for recording’s.

Add to that the increased usage of either front facing sensors / traffic sign recognition systems, the hardware is almost there, even on cars with a front facing camera that incorporate safety systems, I have not heard of any that can be used for duel use as a dashcam.

How hard could it be for manufacturers to add a small camera to the front of a vehicle & a sd card to the rear parking camera.

On handover of my R-Line tech last week, I did have to ask where is my data cable, but the salesperson did go a fetch 1 for me.

I also could not get the boot to open with the foot wave, so I asked for a demonstration! only to be told by the dealer, that feature is only available on the Touareg & not on the Tiguan,  At home I now have mastered the art of opening the boot of my Tiguan with 1 foot.

The easiest way to wire a dash cam into the fuse box is with addafuse, It literally just piggybacks of an existing fuse,
No cutting or splicing of wires, all you then need is a ground point behind a suitable screw or bolt, all neat & tidy.

I can’t remember where or what manufacturer, but just recently I’ve read that the said vehicle had a usb type c plug on the rear view mirror housing for the connection of dash cams, let’s hope this becomes norm.

The healthy option of walking to go post my renewal letter to the dvla never even crossed my mind.

                                                      Don’t mind 1 bit ChrisK & thanks for everyone’s help & advice.
