@MM5 have you got off road parking? & are you in a position to have a home charger fitted?

as constantly charging away from home incurs greater running costs.

Ohme should supply a charge cable with the ePod.

5m is the norm, but you can ask Ohme for an 8m if required.

The local installer who did mine a few months ago, had the unit onboard but no charger cable, as that should have come directly from Ohme,

Only Ohme forgot to dispatch it.
A quick phone call from me, an apology from Ohme, my 8m cable turned up within the week.

I remember when I collected my Tiguan R-Line Tech, nothing to video even if I wanted to. The sales person didn’t even venture outside of the showroom to where the car was parked.

Although they did say that they would answer any questions I had before leaving.
They didn’t seem impressed at all that I insisted on checking out the car before completing the paperwork / pin 👍
          Q’s
a: don’t I receive a free usb cable for android auto?

          > she went & found 1 for me.👍

b: where is the sensor for the hands free tailgate opener because I couldn’t trigger it?🙁

          > the R- Line Tech doesn’t come with that feature 🙁🙁🙁

BTW > I just needed to take at least 1 step back after triggering the auto boot opener before it actually opened 🤭🤭🤭

All other handovers with various brands & dealerships were way more engaging 👍

Direct Line Motability do use specialist vehicle leasing / rental companies to source adapted vehicles where there is a need.

With adapted vehicles being short supply, their availability is very dynamic as vehicles are de-hired with short notice & more likely than not, are already shortlisted against someone else’s requirements.

Throw in a specific vehicle type, be it electric /suv / estate etc, the available vehicle list grows even smaller.

So do press DLM for a vehicle with the correct adaptions fitted for your personal need, although you might have to be a little flexible on the type / size of vehicle offered.

Personal experience & I’ve seen a couple of posts recently.

One thing to be aware of is while there doesn’t seem to be any urgency by DLM signing off on a total loss, once it is, Motability do seem set on giving you just 3 months to find > order > take delivery of your new scheme vehicle, otherwise your back receiving pip until you collect your new car.

So be as prepared as you can be for when motability gives you the green light to place a new order & do confirm any specific requirements re: timeline.

Knowing what your next vehicle choice will be, you could potentially place a new order on the same day as Motability gives you the ok, but a car with a 6 month lead time could potentially leave you without a vehicle for 3 months.

I would expect that within the cars infotainment settings, there should be a toggle to turn AA on or off.

Twin ports might have only the 1 used for full compatibility.

So long as the vehicle supports AA or Car play that is.

Cables are usually the prime suspect, as not all c type cables are equal, but as you have already tried several, you should have had luck with at least 1 of them.

                  Cheers guys.

11 months waiting on dvla so far, they definitely have no urgency in reaching a decision.

The only urgency is the 14 days timeframe in which they need paperwork returned,

but the 4 month wait between there responses is par for the course 🤭

@kezo Checked it again just after 00:30 still 6kW App load limit is set at 60A, Max charge is set at 32A, I have an 80A fuse fitted by the DNO

Max Charge 32A Load limit 80A Ohme will adjust is for you if you contact, with the serial number requesting the load limit is adjusted 60 to 80A. Its an installer mistake for not setting up commissioning the charger. The E-Pod requires the installers app if you want to have ago 🙂

                      @kezo
I know yr da man to ask. Just come across this thread.

I’ve had my ePod installed just last week & my Ohme app is reporting the same as Phaedra.

load limit  60A – max charge 32A – & national grid dropped in a 80A fuse the day before the charger was installed.

Are these not the optimal settings?

on a side note, national grid didn’t replace the seal on the cut-out after replacing the new fuse! is this going to cause issues at a later date?

We were down the dealership last week, had a look at the motor while signing some additional paperwork, granny charger in the boot along with a charger lead, unfortunately I don’t know the length of either.

A 5m lead is gona be a close call, playing it safe by opting for the 8m cable.

The granny charger out the window is plan B ⚡️

                          Ohme ePod installed today 👍

but my run of good luck is teetering on the edge again.

Seeing a few posts where the charger has been delivered to the customer prior to the install,    I contacted Ohme about 10 days back to confirm how I would receive the unit.

Ohme confirmed that the charger is in the hands of there approved installation expert & they would bring it with them on the day.

Ohme were good on their word & the fitter had the charge unit with them this morning,      wall charger but no charge lead for my ePod, that apparently come directly from Ohme 🤭 but only if they remember to dispatch it🙏

A quick call to Ohme cs & my 8m cable is now on order & I should receive it within a week🙏

as the Bev is due to be collected tomorrow, I’m hoping it comes with a full charge ⚡️

Pure coincidence. National Grid swapped out the cut-out to 80A yesterday / ePod fitted today / collect car tomorrow /1st charge when Ohme decides I’m worthy of a charging lead 🤭

The beginning of the week I had word the Kona has arrived at the dealership, 10 day’s late from there 1st eta, but at least it’s onsite now,

just need our adaptions fitted & we should be good to go.

Also had word from Ohme today that the charger install is booked for 2 weeks time, so all in all, not a bad turnaround on both.
We only got the go ahead to place a new vehicle order from MB 4 weeks back,  then ordered the Kona 4 days later.

2024 has been a hell of a year so far in more ways than one, finally some good news 👍

Just had feedback from Ohme & the installation is as I thought it would be!
                              a none standard installation

But @ £118 it’s way less than I was expecting

”Scope of works: Fusebox is domestic DB with SPD so need RCBO to suit and wire up and behind the kitchen unit and into the loft space, wire along the loft into the garage, down the inside of the garage wall and drill out and along to the charger location. Total cable run is approximately 20m”

It’s still 50/50 if we will get charger fitted before the Kona, but I’m ever hopeful.

Ohme did say I should hear back from the nominated installers within 5 days, so I’m ever hopeful of a fairly quick charger install & a smooth transition into our first EV.

But with my luck of late, I’m not holding much hope ?

TBH  after the useful advice gained from yourself & the forum that I am able to request an onsite survey definitely makes for a smother process on my part.

With the possibility that the car could be ready to collect in as little as 3 weeks time, it’s definitely going to be a close call if we can get a charger installed before then,

so might need a few pointers if our caravan’s commando socket would be a suitable stopgap, but for now, we’re crossing our fingers on the ohme.

@Kezo Meter & consumer unit are next to each other, internal & next to the front door.

The layout of the property suggests the ideal spot for fitting the charger would be on the outside wall roughly behind the electrical supply units. But makes for a trip hazard.

Placing the charger the other side of the door would mean it being situated lower down under a window, with no exposed wall around the door for a cable run, due to it being a bungalow.

Hopefully the logistics of installing a charger without the cable being a trip hazard will be more straightforward than I Imagine it to be.

I took my daughter to the Toyota dealership last week especially to look at the bZ4X as Motability class this as a small suv,

needed something small as she’s the motability customer & has only recently passed her driving test.

Reading the spec sheet, it fitted our needs to a T,

We only walked into the showroom & daughter said I can’t drive that it’s the size of a tank?

We never even opened the doors to have a look.

Had a test drive today & we’ve pulled the trigger on a Kona Bev, 4-6 weeks delivery so possibly on a ship heading over already.

As it’s the weekend, the dealer will need to contact there adaptions specialist on Monday,    just to confirm that the required adaptions are available, but hopefully the new Kona’s been out just long enough for the kit to be available.

Had a few hybrid vehicles on loan, but this will be our first Bev.                                                                         I’m not expecting the Ohme charger install to be straight forward, (consumer unit not close to the garage) but we’ll cross that bridge as & when.

Marshals had been one of the local dealers I spoke to, nothing on there forecourt this end, but I’m sure they were one of my calls that were going to get back to me on the status of group stock availability.

                                                Tom…

@Ioniq Already phoned a few local ish dealers, nothing in stock & new orders range from 9mth / 4mth / 3mth or a possible 6 weeks.

By all accounts I missed out on stock option last week, but only had the green light from MB on Tuesday ?

***I’ve finally received a call from DLM***

7 weeks after a salvage company 1st got in contact notifying me that our vehicle was now written off & requesting the return of the spare key,

I’ve now had a call from DLM who have only just officially notified me that the vehicle is a total loss.

The most comical bit was when they asked if there any personal items we needed to remove from the vehicle?

At 7 weeks, the vehicle could have possibly been sold on / repaired / back on the road by now❗️

The good news is, DLM will complete there admin now, so I should hear soon from Motability with reference to placing a new vehicle order.

Just in time for Q2 prices ?

@Serenity 3 days on from the rtc, it was a eurocar who supplied the initial loaner vehicle, a 70 plate, Grandland.

To say I wasn’t impressed with the quality & the cleanliness inside would be an understatement, bits of trim missing, scratches inside & out & the rear seats were filthy. Vacuumed out but filthy.

The adapted vehicle from proximo is a different story altogether, a 73 reg Toyota, but the age of the vehicle aside, all trim panels in place, clean n tidy & they had given the outside a wash n clean.
