The new Kona Bev is on our shortlist, so looking at availability!

We’ve now got the green light from MB to place a new order & take delivery asap if anyone knows of any dealer stock Kona’s in the West Mids area.

But has anyone recently placed an order & can offer a realistic delivery timeframe on a factory order?

Tom, give your local Hyundai dealer a call and ask them if there are any stock cars available. Thats what I did and picked up an Ioniq 5 a couple of weeks later.

@Ioniq Already phoned a few local ish dealers, nothing in stock & new orders range from 9mth / 4mth / 3mth or a possible 6 weeks.

By all accounts I missed out on stock option last week, but only had the green light from MB on Tuesday ?

            <p style=”text-align: left;”>Tom, give it a couple of weeks and ask again.</p>
There are a couple of ships due in from Korea, and possibly cancellations.

Also, its near the end of the month, and the salespersons have targets. They tend to be more accomodating at this time.

Not west mids but close, just completed the paperwork for an in stock Kona Electric Ultimate Meta Blue pearl with black leather today at Marshall Hyundai Hereford, they also had a Kona Ecotronic Grey Pearl Ultimate with light grey leather available from stock and service was excellent

Also Berkleley Vale Hyundai, Thornbury North Bristol have a white Kona Ultimate with lux pack available from stock as of today

Hope this helps, factory order would have been July earliest

Cheers for the heads up @Genesos, I’ll certainly give them both a shout in the morning?

Marshals had been one of the local dealers I spoke to, nothing on there forecourt this end, but I’m sure they were one of my calls that were going to get back to me on the status of group stock availability.

Just change your postcode to suit your location better.

I’ve only gone & done it!

Had a test drive today & we’ve pulled the trigger on a Kona Bev, 4-6 weeks delivery so possibly on a ship heading over already.

As it’s the weekend, the dealer will need to contact there adaptions specialist on Monday,    just to confirm that the required adaptions are available, but hopefully the new Kona’s been out just long enough for the kit to be available.

Had a few hybrid vehicles on loan, but this will be our first Bev.                                                                         I’m not expecting the Ohme charger install to be straight forward, (consumer unit not close to the garage) but we’ll cross that bridge as & when.

                      Tom.

Nice one Tom. One step at a time. You should get an email from Ohme starting the installation process Mon or Tues. If you can do the survey, fine. If you have any doubts, insist on them sending an engineer out to do the survey.

why would a ship from Korea be of any note here? We do live in the UK.

Hyundai has its own seaport at Ulsan Korea, the ships arrive into Tilbury docks, which are operated by the Port of London Authority, however the ships often dock in the EU

                                      Hyundai use Eukor and Glovis.

9 April 7am Morning Calm (Hyundai) Eukor

10th April 10am Glovis Symphony (Hyundai)

It also tells you where there coming from.

                                      https://pla.co.uk/ship-movements

However Hyundai now lets you track via an app if you have order number,

@Kezo Meter & consumer unit are next to each other, internal & next to the front door.

The layout of the property suggests the ideal spot for fitting the charger would be on the outside wall roughly behind the electrical supply units. But makes for a trip hazard.

Placing the charger the other side of the door would mean it being situated lower down under a window, with no exposed wall around the door for a cable run, due to it being a bungalow.

Hopefully the logistics of installing a charger without the cable being a trip hazard will be more straightforward than I Imagine it to be.

Drill out, cable run tightly under front door cill using 18th edition  fire rated ultra clips (Not as Ohme contractors use these lol)

                                            or

From the meter, up into the loft area and down to the charger on the other side of the wall or where ever is best.

I’m sure installers have faced much greater issues than that of mine.

Tho pointing out that planing & building a fitted kitchen on & around our incoming gas & electric supply wouldn’t be her best idea, is never going to be a smooth ride however the Bev charger install goes?

With the possibility that the car could be ready to collect in as little as 3 weeks time, it’s definitely going to be a close call if we can get a charger installed before then,

so might need a few pointers if our caravan’s commando socket would be a suitable stopgap, but for now, we’re crossing our fingers on the ohme.

If you are in the west Mids you may well get Charge Dev to do your install. They were excellent when they did ours a couple of months ago. The only thing I could fault and this was OHME rather than charge Dev, was being in a hurry to do the job. Having ordered in late Nov but not expecting the car until May I tried to put them off but was bombarded with emails and phone calls. I gave up and did the survey over Christmas, got  call from Charge dev a couple of days later to arrange a date. I chose the furthest out date they were prepared to offer me and had the install in early Feb, so, 6 weeks with me deliberately dragging my feet.

Ohme did say I should hear back from the nominated installers within 5 days, so I’m ever hopeful of a fairly quick charger install & a smooth transition into our first EV.

But with my luck of late, I’m not holding much hope ?
