@Gertrudengladys I’m actually one of the few it seems, that has got the MY24 vehicle they actually ordered. I just feel for those who aren’t getting their MY24 vehicles.

Has anyone on this forum affected by the MY24 vs MY25 fiasco, been advised what happened to their order and subsequent build slot allocation that led them to not receive an MY24?
To advise some customers they will receive an MY24-but in reality, it turns out to be an MY25 with no advance warning is, in my opinion, completely unacceptable-especially when the 360 camera is a genuine requirement. It’s like purchasing a tin of peas and there’s baked beans inside! I too, preferred the lighter cabin especially when the head lining is black and the 360 camera was a real selling point for me. Personally, I don’t care about larger wheels or micro-fleece and faux leather seats-I care more about my comfort and the ability and ease of driving the vehicle and that means receiving that which I actually ordered. What are Motability and Volvo UK advising and what reasons are being given for not now receiving an MY24?

@wmcforum I didn’t understand why my topic had disappeared, so thank you for advising. No worries and no need to apologise. I don’t post regularly and have only really been involved with the Volvo XC40 thread. Rest assured, I will only post my own, personal opinions and information that has come directly from a reliable/professional source. Best regards

Apologies as I didn’t realise posting information “straight from the horses mouth,” so to speak, would be removed! If it was hearsay or via a third party, I could understand it-but it was from my local Mercedes-Benz dealership-a reliable source.

I’m cautious to post the information again as it appears my previous post with details, has been removed. I would rather not post again until the Moderator has contacted me to advise the reason for my topic disappearing. I’m sure if you call your local Mercedes-Benz dealership, they will happily provide the information to you.

Thank you very much, @nshaw. As we all know, it’s been a terrible fiasco! Fingers crossed everyone else waiting, won’t have to wait too much longer. Thank you to all for the great support, advice and information shared on this XC40 thread, much appreciated.

I’ve had confirmation that my vehicle is now at my dealership. All I’ve got to do is liaise with them, to arrange a convenient date/time to collect.

I’m still not seeing any further information from the VIN number. Yes, it was confirmed the vehicle will be delivered by 31st May so hopefully, I’ll hear something soon. I’ll post any updates on here.

I’ve just checked and I was given my VIN number 10 weeks after placing my order. However, I wasn’t able to then track each stage of my order on the App-it merely recognised the VIN number, but no further details were visible.

@Frank  I requested the VIN number about 6 weeks after ordering.

I have raised three formal complaints with Volvo UK Head Office over the past few months and I am yet to receive a response to any of them. It leaves me wondering whether I would be treated in the same way, if I were a private purchase customer? It appears to me, once the majority of Volvo Motability orders are placed, they cannot be traced until they are at or soon to arrive at the Dealerships-which makes me question whether this is common practice for all orders placed with Volvo-or merely Volvo Motability orders? Very early on after placing my order, I requested the VIN number appertaining to such-which was supplied to me. I was of the mind if I were to have such information, my order and subsequent allocated vehicle, could be traced. If I didn’t have the VIN number of “my vehicle,” I could’ve been allocated any vehicle matching my order specifics, at any time. The way in which our orders have been handled and the reasons/excuses we have been given (or not) does not sit well with me at all. On a brighter note, I also have received an email from Mercedes-Benz advising they are returning to the Scheme very soon, so at least this will be another option/choice for some.

Thank you for posting that-very informative. However, the dealerships citing they are in the dark and don’t know what’s going on really doesn’t sit well with me. If the dealerships take orders, which they have-they are a Customer’s first and foremost point of contact-they should know and my gut feeling is, they do-but just don’t want to admit the issues we have all been suffering-it’s easier for the dealerships to say they are non the wiser-yet they are Customer facing. My opinion is, if, as they are saying, they don’t know-then it’s for them to find out for us!

That’s funny!!! I have no clue about cars either, but from what you’ve stated, I think you’ve ordered the petrol, mild hybrid!!! However, probably best to check with your dealership. Yes-from memory-originally, when it first came on-the AP for the petrol mild hybrid was 1999. Then, on 010124, the AP decreased to 1499. That was the base price and I didn’t order any factory fitted extras. I ordered a MY24 spec vehicle which I personally preferred, as I valued the 360 camera and preferred the standard seat fabric. The MY25 spec had the BLIS/CTA system (instead of the 360 camera) and also came with upgraded seating material and 19” wheels (MY24 has 18”) The above is from my memory so please check with your dealership for actual confirmation.

When I ordered, the AP was £1499 for the petrol, mild hybrid version-MY24 specification. Did you order the fully electric version as I think that did have an increased AP figure?

The AP figure appears to have more than doubled!

Hopefully, fingers crossed! I have no clue as to how many vehicles it takes to warrant the ok for the transporter to be deemed fit to go!! I think it’s anyone’s guess, to be honest!! At least I’ve had confirmation of movement, so I’m happier. There was a time where I thought I’d never set eyes on my order, so things are at least, looking up!! Hopefully, not long now, for all of us awaiting our Volvos.

I ordered 020124. (Cancelled first order placed on 281224 and had to reorder to get lower AP.)

I think it was called Crystal White-basically just white!! 😂

My dealership contacted me yesterday to advise my order, that had been sat in Zeebrugge Port’s long stay holding facility since mid March, has now arrived in the UK and has been assigned a registration plate-although there may now be delays getting it to the dealership, owing to having to wait for the onward transport to be full with vehicles and not just the odd one or two. So, at least there has been some progress. Will post any further updates if/when received.

Shameful thing is, Motability should care about this situation and their Customers, but obviously don’t!
