FHEV 2.5
I’ve had my 2.5 Vignale FHEV a couple of months now and enjoying every minute,
I had had my Kuga FHEV Vignale two months now and it has never missed a beat covering 500 miles, quick off the mark, excellent on fuel, no worries with the engine and no problems with Sync 3 at all which has had an update.
Sync 4 looks too big stuck on the ford dashboards and you lose many physical buttons for heating and cooling.
I’ve had my Kuga Vignale 4 weeks now and never missed a beat and goes like a rocket.
It has sync 3.4 version and F11 maps have taken me everywhere I need to go, separate c/c controls and heating.
No recall found on my vin even though it is the my 20.25 version.
Just a heads up to those awaiting the Kuga MY23.75, they are now showing on the Ford website in the stock search for delivery >6 weeks.
Kuga Vignale 2.5 FHEV Lucid Red ordered 2nd April and delivered 26th May.
Kuga Vignale 2.5 FHEV ordered 2nd April and delivered 26th May.
Which appears to suggest that MY23.75 doesn’t relate to the facelifted version, unless Ford have used the wrong photo.
That is my concern when I posted the link as the prices are valid until 30th June 23.
The Kuga Graphite/Black editions have the same MY23.75 code as well as Kuga European model brochure.
Have a look at the new pricelist with the Kuga models code.
Knowing my luck someone else will get allocated the Vignale instead of me, but I will be happy if I get the non facelift as it will have physical buttons for the climate controls and heated seats.
Whatever happens we should all enjoy the car.
My Motability dealer called with regards to my Kuga order possibly here end of the month and I mentioned the facelift but she said they cannot order it until there it has a new vehicle code.
They are quoting 20 weeks delivery for stock on the way (2023.25) on the ford website most of which are PHEVs and only two FHEVs for delivery in four weeks.
Kuga Zetec trim has been removed from the range and the facelift doesn’t seem to be coming this year
There are a couple of new packages available in black and grey (not motability) and there is a new pricelist from 27th April.

Ordered peugot 208 on 21st october 2022 on behalf of my mentally disbaled son. (he can’t use phones, computers etc). I was told beginning of year. The car is now in the Uk BUT..as of today, 28th April, still not arrived at dealers in Scotland! Over 6 months now. Apparantly last they heard it was ‘hold up’ in Skegness! Help and any info be grateful.
I hope they said “Sheerness” instead of Skegness.
Congrats on the new car order and I hope you enjoy the Lucid red colour.
The megane is a full EV not a phev, It’s one of the cheaper proper EVs ,as in it was designed as an EV so its roomier inside. It seems Renault are good prices relative to the other offers.
There is a difference but it is cheap all the same.
@Postmanpat68 Did you say you’d ordered it in Lucid red? If you did were you charged extra for that colour?
Well I ordered the Lucid Red as the dealer had one in stock but because of the Motability list confusion at the time they were saying it wasn’t available and when the order eventually went through the next day another branch had pinched the car to sell to someone else.
The dealer is still looking for a stock/on way soon in Lucid red and I was originally not charged for the red but I would go for the chrome blue also and maybe I would be persuaded to go for the ST line X if available.
I went for the Kuga Vignale FHEV.
Passing the Hyundia dealer so pop in and had a look at the Hyundia Tuscon hybrid lovely car but the models available on the Motability scheme confusing.
Without a doubt the Tuscon is a nice car and of a good size. I only wished the Hybrid 230 was available when I ordered. The only 2 Hybrid 230 are the Premium and more basic N Line trims. The PHEVs 265bhp are available in Premium and Ultimate trims but, pricey. Below that you have 48v Mild hybrids 180bhp 4wd, which includes the the better specced N Line S and range topping Ultimate. Below That you have the 48v Mild hybrid 150bhp SE, Premium and Ultimate specs and a 4wd ultimate. Below them you have the ICE models in SE, Premium and Ultimate, which I have. The ICE and MHEV’s are not great fuel economy wise. https://hyundai-website-assets.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/shared-assets/production/specifications/brochure_tucson_price_and_spec.pdf
When looking I asked about a Hyundai Tucson 1.6 TGDi 48V MHD SE Connect 5dr 2WD DCT £2499 AP and this was the reply from Read Hyundai.
We can certainly arrange for an appointment and test drive in the Tucson. Sadly the mild hybrid DCT is no longer available for us to order, production was halted late last year due to supply issues. (we’re still not entirely sure why this was kept on the Motability scheme list).
We can however order the Tucson Premium self-charging hybrid, this is still an automatic, and this particular model has a £3,999 advance payment. ?
She reckons 4-6 months for the FHEV. Although Ford UK are showing stock they’re not releasing them for Motability orders. She also said the Lucid Red would be £250 extra so if I go for the Kuga I won’t be having that!. However the Vignale also includes Chrome Blue, Solar Silver, Frozen White and Agate Black as standard at no extra. My daughter likes the Chrome Blue so will have a look at that when I’m there. The Vignale is the same price as the ST Line X but you get the leather seats and other trim bits. Hopefully I can also try the X as I do like some of the different trim it has, but if the sunroof is still a problem with the seat lowered it would have to be the Vignale.
Good luck with the Kuga and the panoramic roof does eat into the roof height.
There are only a handful of FHEVs in the country but not for motability as you quoted, my dealer said there are more on their way apparently but whether they can let us have them is another matter and many on the way have lots of extras to bump up the AP.
Another cheap PHEV is the Renault Megane at £2499 AP.
April 9, 2023 at 3:01 pm in reply to: After Nissans latest £800 AP increase I have now ordered #218356. The Kuga FHEV Vignale at £2695 was tempting untill you remember its got a CVT box, which I can’t see myself ever going back to. There is also a faceift coming this year, so I guess Ford is wanting to get rid of them. Anyway I hope you enjoy the Puma ?[/quote]
The Kuga facelift is due Autumn 2023 but as ford are struggling to build current Kuga’s within 8-12 months the facelift probably won’t be available anytime soon.
I ordered a Kuga Vignale FHEV last week due to the Nissan price increase so maybe I’ll get the facelift ?or not.
I believe the facelift is now in the uk and available as the the 23.25 model and the only difference is the bigger infotainment system but I may be wrong.
Well my Kuga was taken by another dealership because motability took too long to approve the order as it wasn’t on their system ????
I was told this morning that there are only 4 FHEV’s in the country so I am back to square one again.
Phaedra.
It was Evans Halshaw Ford.
