Very impressed with the new Ford Kuga ST X seat very comfortable and supportive, we have decided on metallic silver, I would have black but swore never again. I cannot believe the difference in dealer attitude Bristol Street seem more on the ball.
Still not 100% sure whether to go for the FHEV or PHEV, the wife has told me go for the PHEV, we have home EV charger, off peak charging, solar panels and battery, plus a majority of our journeys are local, plus I really want the PHEV.
It will have to be a factory order 4 – 7 month as we will specify a factory fitted electric towbar.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

MarkI’ve just had a call from the dealership to tell me that my car was delivered yesterday. I’ve arranged to pick it up next Thursday. This is about three weeks earlier than I was expecting.
June 23, 2023 at 7:38 pm #224247I’ve had my Kuga Vignale 4 weeks now and never missed a beat and goes like a rocket.
It has sync 3.4 version and F11 maps have taken me everywhere I need to go, separate c/c controls and heating.
No recall found on my vin even though it is the my 20.25 version.

ClayPHi everyone,
Apologies for jumping in on this but I didn’t want to start a new thread.
I ordered a Kuga ST-Xline 2.5 PHEV back 15 nearly 16 months ago and we’re still waiting. We’ve not been told why until recently. Apparently, it was a software issue. I did manage to add it to the Ford account online and could see that it’s not had an update since October last year.
I keep checking with Ford and every delivery date they give me keeps getting pushed back by a week.
After this long and reading others are having no issues, I’m starting to think something else is a miss.
Am I being paranoid or is 15-16 months an acceptable wait time nowadays?
June 26, 2023 at 10:08 am #224357On Fords site 2023.25 4 weeks and 2023.75 20 weeks

June 26, 2023 at 5:23 pm #224402Certainly seems very odd. The Kuga PHEV & FHEV models were deleayed last November due to a potential fire risk but should have been sorted and delivered by now.
Have a look on the Ford Kuga availability checker, current stock and lead times are shown here, https://www.ford.co.uk/shop/buy-online/inventory/pv?context=gux#config=Kuga
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

GeebBHi, ordered a Kuga ST Line X (no extras) end of April and told it would be most likely November before delivery but then got an email with the VIN number a couple of weeks back and a call from the dealer to arrange pickup for this week. Pickup was then cancelled on Friday due to a Ford recall for a software update regarding the engine fire issue. Not sure what’s going in now. We’re ok as we have the current car which is great but having read about the recall and the reasons for it I’m concerned. Drilled holes, vane removal and software to tell you you car is on fire is a little worrying.
June 26, 2023 at 6:13 pm #224407I think your dealer is trying to fob you off with a 2023.25, tell them no you want a 2023.75
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
June 26, 2023 at 7:08 pm #224412As above, if it has the recall notice it’s definitely not the latest build.

June 26, 2023 at 7:28 pm #224414When ordering our Kuga PHEV the dealer informed they would expect delivery mid to late September for a 2023.75 (that must tell you some think), I informed the dealer we are on holiday and will not be back until early October, provisional date for our Kuga 10/10/2023.

GeebBThanks for the replies. I have contacted the dealer and asked for them to confirm if it is a 2023.25 or 2023.75
Order for definitely states new factory order which is what we were expecting with delivery November onwards.
I assume the engine/injector/fire issues were fixed for the most recent model?
June 26, 2023 at 10:11 pm #224421Supposed to be fixed on cars manufactured after April 20th 2023.
That ties in with the factory changeover from building MY23.35 to MY23.75

July 1, 2023 at 10:46 am #224835I have emailed our Ford Motability dealer who is dealing with our order a send a copy of the Ford recall regarding the engine fire, to date they have not bothered to reply, I have yet to raise the matter of the SYNC4, I am watching Q3 very closely looking for an alternative vehicle.

July 1, 2023 at 11:09 am #224841I’m in the same position, I really like the idea of the FHEV but having friends with the Sync4 system I decided that as it wasn’t fitted I’d either wait for the MY24 version or look around for something else.
Given the post above showing a car to be built on June 15th, almost a month after Ford said the problem was fixed (April 20th) has still been recalled I’m glad I cancelled the order.

July 1, 2023 at 11:16 am #224845The Ford dealership were all very helpful when ordering the Kuga, but now I have ordered they assumed it now a done deal.

July 1, 2023 at 11:40 am #224854Mine (Bristol Street Durham) Motability person (Lisa) was very good, emailed me straight back when I asked about Sync4 not being fitted and confirmed that was the case, she did say they were told it would be at the time of order.
As soon as I said I’d cancel and either wait for the facelift or look around for something else she emailed me back saying she’d cancelled it and removed it from my Motability account as well.

July 1, 2023 at 11:56 am #224858Bristol Street Stafford the Motability there adviser is a bit young, inexperienced and too be honest a bit half soaked, the manager sorted out the paperwork when we ordered. I f the AP drops or something better come on Q3 I will phone and cancel.

July 1, 2023 at 1:09 pm #224886AP increased by £500 since update, see link :https://www.motability.co.uk/find-a-vehicle/cars/search-results/ford-kuga/682397/?awardType=ADP

MarkI picked mine up on Thursday, I’m over the moon with it. The SYNC3 system works fine, I’m pleased I didn’t wait to order.
July 1, 2023 at 1:51 pm #224907I just phoned the Ford dealer on an update regarding the email I sent them, the salesman could not understand were I got the idea the Kuga was going to be equipped with SYNC4, I told them your manager when he filled in the paperwork for you.
As regards the engine problems he tried to assure me that as our Kuga had not been built our car should not be affected, I informed him I need that to be confirm.

July 1, 2023 at 2:30 pm #224919I know you mentioned the Mazda CX-60 but have you looked at the Skoda Enyaq? massive price drop this quarter.
As for me so far it looks like I may be stuck with the current Ateca, new one has dropped £500 but same useless tyres. I was hoping the Mazda CX-5 may have dropped back to Q1 price but it’s gone up another £100.
Other than that the Sportage hybrid is back on or Renault Austral but expensive.
