WhitneyHi everyone, I was wondering what your wait times are for your car orders. I ordered a Ford Kuga St Line X Auto Diesel on Sept 21 and haven’t received a build date yet. Was told by dealer it’d be March/April 22 which I’m hopeful it will not be any longer than that. Very hesitant to cancel the order due to current wait times and the fact that Ford has discontinued the Diesel engine (which was the only Kuga available for under 25s at Q4).

Motabilityuser1Pointless scheme. Can’t even place an order, let alone get on to the 70 week waiting list. Although if you have the cash I can get a September plate.
Its a Micky mouse outfit, motability scheme is nex to useless.

I disagree, but you’re entitled to your opinion.
May 31, 2023 at 5:52 pm #222771I disagree, not everyone is waiting a long time, it’s not Motability’s fault the cars are taking a long time and what cars are on the scheme
May 31, 2023 at 6:11 pm #222772Well I’ve just taken delivery of my new car and I absolutely love it – I waited just under 4 months
I loved my old car I just handed back and loved the car before that
MB isn’t perfect but nothing in this World is
im sorry if the one you want has an eternity of a wait but that’s not MB’s fault
Personally I would be up ? creek without a paddle if it weren’t for MB
And what a calming peace of mind it is knowing I can pick the phone up to them with any concerns or issues and they’ll always talk to me in a caring manner – which I know I wouldn’t get calling a dealer
That’s a major positive factor for me ??

MarcusHi, ordered my Renault megane etec last week, fortunately there was a car sat in the import compound. So delivery should be by the 10th of this month, luckily I wasn’t fussy on colour and got lucky I guess.
I am moving from an ID3 nice as it is, I have really enjoyed the car apart from the slow software. The Megane is light years ahead in my humble opinion.

Good post Winston.
That’s the “peace of mind” that makes those of us with disabilities far less stressed.

June 4, 2023 at 7:50 pm #222983Kuga Vignale 2.5 FHEV Lucid Red ordered 2nd April and delivered 26th May.
June 5, 2023 at 10:48 am #223000My car is now in the UK, expected at the dealership in the next couple of days and with a tentative handover next week.
Ordered 8th April – Citroen C5 Aircross automatic.
June 12, 2023 at 4:51 pm #223430Update – Vehicle has arrived and handover is Friday.
It has taken just shy of 10 weeks from order to collection (factory order).
June 14, 2023 at 3:18 pm #223512Part of quite a large group on Facebook to do with Motability. Seeing a few Vauxhall Astra’s appearing, asked each person when they ordered, all of them have been after me (one of them ordered Jan this year and has it already).
If it’s a cancelled order fair enough, if it’s not my dealer has some explaining to do.

tyreeseI got so fed up with yet another delay that i rang every other dealership local to me, Audi and VW we were shocked i hve waited so long and they said they fulfil orders within 3 months
I contacted Ford, which is 10 minutes from my house, they said they have various cars that i can drive away within a week of my application being approved, so im going there tomorrow to see what they have.
Might not be my desired car, but at this rate its better then nothing
July 4, 2023 at 7:43 pm #225397Been a couple of months since i contacted my Vauxhall dealership
Me “Hi, any update on my car?”
Dealer “Hi, we are expecting it end of March”
Me “March 2024?”
Dealer “No, this year”
Me “You know it’s July right?”
Dealer “Oh sorry, August. If you want another colour i can see if we can get one sooner”
Gave him a list of colours i’d take, not expecting to hear anything though. I even think the August date was made up.

CAWThe issue is wider than the motability scheme. You can get a car quicker if you’re flexible about the specification. Build to order car deliveries can be horrendous at the moment.
I went into our local Ford dealer today, I wanted a Ford Puma, I wasn’t too bothered about the specification beyond it being an automatic.
They had a Ford Puma 155 DCT available in the highest specification. I placed the order and car will be available to collect next Tuesday (11/7).
