WhitneyHi everyone, I was wondering what your wait times are for your car orders. I ordered a Ford Kuga St Line X Auto Diesel on Sept 21 and haven’t received a build date yet. Was told by dealer it’d be March/April 22 which I’m hopeful it will not be any longer than that. Very hesitant to cancel the order due to current wait times and the fact that Ford has discontinued the Diesel engine (which was the only Kuga available for under 25s at Q4).

@Retro89 Both Mazda dealers I spoke to reckoned at least 3-4months to get a CX5 on Motability as they’re factory ordered.
I should’ve ordered it when i went to have a look. Too late now since i’m in the renewal process for my PIP.
Did eventually get another estimated date for my Astra though, was told July it would be at the dealer which would make the total wait time be 13 months.

NicolaOrdered a Mokka 17th September 2022 still nothing, have to say Vauxhall have been the worst company I have used for my motability vehicle, they just seem to “avoid” all emails and telephone calls when trying to get in touch with anyone.

That was the reason why I cancelled my order at Vauxhall, well that and the fact they spoke to me as if I was a brainless 5 year old when I did finally get them to respond which was the final straw.
Thankfully, I wasn’t very far down the road in waiting, had only put the order in 6 weeks before but my experience in those 6 weeks told me it was not going to be the easiest of orders and made me fear for when I actually got the vehicle.

eame64Went to check on our ID3 Max order yesterday which was ordered on 17/09/21.
First of all was told it was still at status 20,which is just a confirmed order number.
Then got a text later that day to say it was in build 7 of 8 process and will soon be ready for shipping.
Considering the confirmed build week was supposed to be week 12 i still have no confidence in anything were being told.
Thought about cancelling many times but after 20 months you kind of want to see it out.
May 10, 2023 at 1:02 pm #221065Hi eame64
VW status 20 means “Factory ordered production week confirmed” and code 10 is the one for “Factory ordered with week scheduled” so your in a good place in the scheme of things if code 20 is correct.
That said even with code 20 the build weeks can slip because of lack of parts but it does mean your near the front of the queue.
May 10, 2023 at 10:36 pm #221102Placed my order on the 8th April (after cancelling my Vauxhall Crossland one), got a phone call today from the dealership to say it is being built this week and it should be ready for collection early June if no shipping hold ups.
I’ve ordered a Citroen C5 Aircross, it had been completely out of my price range in previous quarters and still was even with the AP reduction this quarter but youngest son has offered to help and with the new car payment being able to go towards the AP, has brought it more into affordability. Still going to be a bit of a struggle but it is not a compromise car and a few weeks of beans on toast will be worth it.

GrumpsWell, this coming Monday would have been 21 months waiting for ID3 Tour.
Despite dealer asking me to hang on, I have decided to tap out and cancel my order.
Had a 2 hour test drive in Megane etech yesterday. A nice place to be. Will lose a few features but the Google based software works extremely well.
Have managed to secure a top of range Iconic from dealer stock. Did paperwork today. Car should be ready no later than next Friday for pickup.
The powers that be obviously didn’t want me to have an ID3.

eame64Thought about doing the same myself after having a couple of decent test drives in the Megane.
Better looking car than the Id3 imho and very nice to drive.
Only reason i didn’t change was the electric memory seats and panoramic roof you get with the Max.
good look Grumps i’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
May 11, 2023 at 2:16 pm #221147
GrumpsThank you Eame64.
Since I’m the only one who will ever drive the car, I can get over electric seats. Never used sunroof on any car, I like to be cocooned. Plenty of other goodies to be happy about. The novelty rear view camera should help with tiny rear window. Very happy, and no longer need to reverse onto drive due to placement of charging port.

Ordered mine June 2022, was expected March 2023. Dealer told me “Don’t expect it anytime soon and it won’t have a black roof”.
Tried speaking with Vauxhall direct, after 3 weeks of waiting they said “Maybe getting built in June, with delivery end of July”. They made a big point in saying “Maybe” though.
I would cancel mine if i wasn’t going through my PIP renewal process.

eame64Update from listers VW yesterday to inform my ID3 Max is still at build stage 7 of 8 which is the same as the last update.
They said it is awaiting semi conductors and have no idea when it will arrive, which amazes me as some people who have ordered a Max or Tour up to three months after us have already had their cars.
Probably been sitting in a car park somewhere for ages.
Order date 17/09/21.

Dan@retro89 , bit annoying about the black roof it kind of makes the car I think, is that with all orders now?luckily I ordered it in the black, Contacted my dealer yesterday to see if there is any news on the car as it’s just gone over the 12 month mark and surprisingly he said it’s in the country didn’t say how long it’s been over her for just said should be with them within 3 week, fingers crossed ? does it usually take this long once in the country.

Dealer made out the Astra’s are all getting the roof painted the same colour as the rest of the car to speed up production. But i’ve spoken to a few other people who have the car on order and they haven’t been told that. So i don’t know what’s going on there.
If your car is in the country then it’s probably sat at the port, just got to wait for a transporter to pick it up which can take a few weeks since there’s a shortage of drivers.Car History:
