Like the look of this alot. Would love one in 3 years time after maybe a second Touran.
Interesting that cars are returning to RWD with electric motors.
The BHP cap does need looking at as electric motors are totally different to ICE. At present lots of range means big batteries which also means lots of performance.

Citreon C4 PicassoDon’t think they’d ever make the scheme not exactly practical for day to day use. They’ve just changed the tax system so they cost a lot more now as well.
I was considering a VW Transport with the possibility of buying at end of a lease (5 years so I could sfford it) and having it converted to a camper of soughts. Could also do this with several others like the Peugeot Rifter. lots of specialists out there.

Citreon C4 PicassoThe wife is a worker at a primary school, but she suffers from bad asthma as does one of my sons, so she was told to stay home even though she volentered to go in.
The car hasn’t moved since 20/03. We’ve always had shopping delivered as its a nightmare taking three children around the supermarket. Were saving money on fuel at least and the environment most be benefiting from this a little.

Citreon C4 PicassoI still don’t understand how Volvo could charge for the paint when motability clearly state matalic paint is free to us.
I imagine they pick up the bill for the paint or its factored into there deals with manufacturers.
Were dealers just trying a fast one to get paid for paint twice?

Citreon C4 PicassoWow those old APs are astonishing. Makes you wonder how people were affording them and that motability have come along way with there prices.
Also shows there’s no reason for caps if you have large APs for expensive cars you can either afford them or not. Clearly the AP makes up the difference in the cars cost.

- New Kia Sorrento
- New Landrover Defender 110
- MercedesBenz GLB AMG Line
- VW Caravele
To name but a few. Got until Q1 2021 so thinking about new possibilities keeps me occupied at the moment.

Citreon C4 PicassoI’ve got to be optimistic and say Q2 should look very similar to Q1 price wise there won’t have been any time to go slashing APs. There’s no incentive to sell cars when factories and dealers are shut.
Once this is over as our cars are paid through our sacrifice in mobility benefit we could be the minority in a position to be getting new cars. As this will hit people financial hard and will take longer before there ready for that next big purchase.

Citreon C4 PicassoIt is one I will definitely like to check out.
I’m not a fan of SUV’s I like MPVs. Just like playing with seating arrangements and the tardis like space in them.
Its a good predicament to be in at the end of the day and car configurators can pass a lot of time.

I know what your saying but again its not drastically bigger then the Touran. Though not seen one in person to fully appreciate what space is on offer.
Its one of those were I only need it to be like it for 10% of the year. For short trips could make do with many cars. Its just holidays were two weeks clothes a giant tent and accessories really fill the car. But this is the style of holiday we like and because the wife works at school and gets lots of hols, we can get away a lot reasonable cheaply. So the car becomes a major part of the holiday equation.
As said the other option would be towing a trailer. But then there’s buying a trailer, storing a trailer etc. Not to mention the wife would have to learn to tow.

Nothing to ridiculous but Hyundai Santa Fe, BMW X3, Merc GLC Volvo XC60 to name but a few.
Leather, auto gearboxes and electric tailgate start to be standard equipment in this price bracket which would be of benefit to many different disabilities.

Citreon C4 PicassoI personally think American mini vans are cool. Honda Odyssey for example. it is a shame the UK market has no interest in these.
I like the spacetourer too, we’ve had a couple of picasso’s and never had any proplems. Nice comfy cars.
At present the Peugeot Traveller Allure looks the best spec for price to me at AP 5k. If I consider one it’d have to be a 5 year lease to justify the outlay but think I’d be happy with that.

Citreon C4 PicassoYou could always remove the third row of seats in the Shuttle, that way the dog would have the advantage of windows to look out of.
That would be spoiling him. Yep already thought about that and what i would for hols. The issue is I’d want the Caravele not the Shuttle if it was my choice not withstanding what the scheme provides.
Peugeot Traveler also looks worth considering but with such huge APs are they worth it?

Citreon C4 PicassoWhat about something like a Caddi Life, or the XL version of the Berlingo/Combo/Partner?
They seem to have the people carry version of the vans on scheme but not the combi versions.
Really like the new Caddy Mk6 due this October though.
For me not drastically larger then what we already have.
Transporter shuttle is huge which would put people off but for us it might be the way to go. Otherwise would need trailers and roof box’s for hols and trips out. (Thinking of the future obviously.)

Citreon C4 PicassoGood lord is your dog a pony?lol. My guide dog William is the smallest one I’ve had he is my third. Current car is Skoda Surperb but my next one will be the aheem… Tiguan I like it has rear climate controll
Lol. He’s a 30kg lab/retriever.
I have a VW Touran which we got before the dog came along. Its s good size 7 seater which for normal day to day is perfect. But we went to the beach a couple of weeks ago with winter coats and dog stuff and the car seemed rather small and cramped. I was wondering how we would manage on our Easter hols but thats cancelled now so I’ll never know.

Citreon C4 PicassoI’ve been getting up at 6:30am to walk/work my guide dog to avoid as many people as possible. This comes natrually to me not much of a people person.
I don’t want his health, and all the training we’ve been through compromising, as he’s my life whilst kids are at school and wife is at work, usually through the week.

Citreon C4 PicassoMarch 23, 2020 at 2:13 pm in reply to: Are we likely to see any corona virus benefits relating to cars on scheme? #109970I hadn’t considered the loss in the pounds valuation but surely as Europe is going through the same issues the euro will be dropping its value as well.
Agree that even if you could order a car at a good price there’s nobody to build them for at least 12 weeks.
The next issue for the car industry, is the UK ending its grace period with European trade market on December 31st with or without a deal (again).

Manufactures and motability won’t have had a chance to get together yet. I imagine the prices will have been decided some weeks ago more in line with Q1 prices.
But could be wrong.

I assume many people won’t have the spare cash or confidence to be buying cars for a while after this has finished. Although there will be a considerable backlog to get back up to full capcity. This could make certain makes and models more desirable.
So will manufactures discount, try and shift more or raise prices to cover losses?

Citreon C4 PicassoI understand what your saying but this isn’t the same scenario.
My annual mileage is less then 5k a year but the car is used everyday. Short journeys live in a city were everything is very close. I don’t have any issue with the fact my mileage is a lot less then the 20k. The car is still esstienial to my day to day life.
If where all to isolate for what looks like most of the rest of the year. The car is not going to be needed and will actually be a financial burden.
I appreciate if you had a normal pcp or loan you’d never get a chance to not repay. But as our car’s are leased through a charity there might be something they could do for us as a charitable act.

Small ish footprint tardis inside. Three children plus a guide dog so 7 seat versatility a huge selling point for me. Will be considering another but wanted an updated version. New dash LED lights as standard etc. The new 7 seat Caddy coming in October looks more modern and fresher then current Touran IMO.

Not to worried just yet it was just Easter is fast approaching and due a family holiday down to Devon (300 mile each way) which would involve a lot more driving and at greater speed then the usual town driving. So safety first and all that.
