What The Car Dealers and or Motability are doing with cars and Advance Payments on the scheme is terrible, taking cars off and putting cars on just for a short time a few days /weeks then putting them back on with larger AP As we know theres lots of example, one being

The VOLVO XC40 DIESEL ESTATE 2.0 D3 INSCRIPTION PRO was on the other day at £2100ish  then they took it of, then put it back a few days later on at £ 3749 I feel sometimes we as customers are being taken advantage off, will it ever end , will there ever be suitable cars for wheelchairs ect with out the AP being out of reach of a lot of people.

Some will think im just complaining , maybe i am , but to jump by £1600 in a few days its not fare

Before I ordered my current vehicle, I had my eye on a Volvo V40, but the AP increased from £99 to £1700 virtually overnight, they are the worst manufacturers in this regard

Plus if you want metallic paint add another £600.

At least they come with a travel rug on the back shelf.

I checked out the new Kuga, Tiguan and the thought of anything French brings me out in a rash. I had a diesel CRV, BMWs and Passat estate in the past. As a disability friendly car the Touran is fit for purpose with its 900+litre low load height flat boot and easy access. In 1.4 now 1.5 dsg SEL trim it is equal or better to drive than any of the above with the caveat that you don’t fling it into roundabouts. At £1099 AP it is also far better value than most “stylish” SUVs. Horses for courses and as someone with limits mobility I will be grateful to order another at the end of the month.

Also have Touran 1.4tsi SEL manual (wife drives car won’t entertain an auto even though it’d probably make driving that bit easier) Love the Touran. Small ish footprint tardis inside. Three children plus a guide dog so 7 seat versatility a huge selling point for me. Will be considering another but wanted an updated version. New dash LED lights as standard etc. The new 7 seat Caddy coming in October looks more modern and fresher then current Touran IMO.

In fairness the 2020 models are entering distribution now, so I expect tweaks to the model account for restructured AP’s in many cases. Although I don’t see why they couldn’t wait until new Q release.

Also hoping for some updates and contract ends in July which is often when changes are made – last time got the 8” display vs the small one when ordered which was a nice surprise. Problem is the iD4 which might mean updates are deemed unnecessary to ICE ranges as customers pushed towards their new EVs. Can’t fault the DSG. Wife had on years ago in a Fabia but was a bit hesitant. It’s creep is as smooth as any torque converter that I’ve driven as you know, engine pulls from just over tick over. I’m on a 3 year driving licence which is now auto only so Hobson’s choice!

Thanks bandit. Posts crossed. Any news on what updates entail? The excellent Motability man at local dealer has since left and been replaces by a smarmy contemptuous type. Tempted to go further afield. My letter will arrive very close to Q2 release date. Always be fearful of April fools day! I’m classified as  high risk so dealer visits will likely be verboten soon

Not on the Volvo, £575 extra now.

Discussed in detail elsewhere on this forum.

Why do you think the car dealers have anything to do with it? It’s the manufacturers who decide what is on Motability.
