Thanks, I’ve seen them on eBay , it’s still a a lot of money for someone’s word they’ve only been used a couple times. It looks like the q50r might be the one to get though. It’s just whether it’s worth the risk second hand or new
Cheers guys I’ll try and convince myself to have a rethink, and yeah sunny Darlington lol
Bit of a short arse here, I really struggle with suv s , find the high sills impossible to get my foot high enough to get it over and even perching on the edge of the seat and swinging both legs in is a struggle and this was less than an inch lower seat position than my last car, merc A class and it doesn’t have huge wide sills which is another issue I have straddling them
Oh I did not know that thanks, as I say it’s really only noticeable at speed , I might give it a try though see if it makes any difference (oh just looked, not available on my model, maybe because its a sport and not M sport)
the new ev6 looks decent, have you looked at the new cupra models that recently went on the list too? I looked at the formentor and born but found the interiors a bit youthful for me lol had a been twenty years younger…. All those orange accents lol
Oh yeah I got tinted rear windows, they didn’t give me any discount and I did ask, I felt hard done by that I must admit, always got about 20percent previously
Hi, no regrets at all, best car I’ve had, total electric convert. It came with tech pack, love the heads up display. This last week the range has been hit hard by the sub zero temps, I don’t do a great amount of miles in one run but I’d say it woulda been about 160miles max range.
love how smooth it is, suspension is amazing over the potholes, steering is incredibly light , it’s the biggest car I’ve driven but it doesn’t feel it from the inside somehow. Acceleration is really good too, can’t help but floor it every now and again. My biggest downside is when you get over 70 (which obviously I never do) if the road isn’t mirror flat the back end can feel a bit bouncy, I think it’s the air suspension and not having the adaptive suspension option but honestly I love the car, will be sad when it has to go back.
it was £4999 when I got it, minus the £750 payment for the sport trim with tech pack. No regrets, everyone that has been in it has been impressed by it
Yes lol
My main runs are A roads and quite hilly I’m lucky if I get 3.4 per kw if the roads clear in front of me I’m in D mode and freewheeling down the hills with D regen set to low .
when I’ve been doing more stop starty runs through town I’ve been getting 3.7 in B mode
the car was on 80% this morning and estimating 180mile range.
Headlight setting, at 8;20 on this video https://youtu.be/MBkzU-ojfL8?si=zPtcjsiZmgnF5NZZ
thanks, just been out to check and it was on default so have changed it to traffic on the right side. Hopefully I’ll blind less cars now
cheers
Very nice indeed. I must check the lights setting in mine tomorrow, I’ve only driven once in the dark so far and got flashed 4 times, they seemed very bright. You won’t have that problem with laser lights
The good thing about the car is you don’t need your phone with you to use Spotify as it has its own app. I tend to forget my phone quite often and if I’m only going out for a short trip it’s good not having to get out the car and go back inside to get it just to listen to music. I agree over the ride quality. I have some big long speed bums I have to travel over everyday and in the cla you had to literally crawl across them but in the i4 it just floats over them, if you give it a bit of gas, we’ll press the accelerator as you’re coming off them it levels the car and you hardly feel them. You get used to the turning circle, but it does catch you out at first especially reversing into a parking space. The rear bumper of the car gets really dirty and when you use the screenwash because it’s on the wipers it can drip onto the drivers window. But if they’re the only quibbles I’ve got after over 3 weeks then I’m happy.
that’s interesting re Spotify app, I never noticed it, is it just in the infotainment apps menu? How does it work regarding streaming and data if you haven’t got your phone with you?
yes rear bumper filthy lol
Also it’s the first car for me with Android auto which I really like and decided it was worth signing up for Spotify, something I’ve never used before and I found this bargain workaround. You’ll need a vpn and be a little tech savvy but I scored 18month of Spotify for under £20. Feel free to delete this post if not allowed but just thought it might be useful for folks .
It is nice, I was nervous because I’ve always been mid sized hatchback so it was a step up in size but when you’re going forward you don’t feel it, apart from the turning circle been bigger, caught me out pulling into parking bays a couple times and I’ve had to readjust.
my other main thing of note is it absorbs the pot holes so well, my step farther has an S class merc and it’s as good as that. The flip side of that is on an undulating country road , where tree roots have made the road uneven it can feel a little choppy especially when accelerating but on a smooth road it handles well.
well I got my i4 this time last week, and it’s not as clean as it is in this day one photo
That’s excellent, my partners parents live at the end the most awkward tight road ever! Lol might stop me having to do a twenty point turn haha
Just thought of another question, does the reversing assistant remember after you’ve got out the car or is it just during that driving session? Just thinking it could be handy for getting off a driveway the next time you go out
Excellent thanks, good to know and I agree reverse assistance could be handy, especially at the hospital I attend lol.
Do you know if you can use what3words for navigation?
I have it in my A class and it’s really useful for pinpointing exactly where u want to navigate to. It’s a voice command and I was wondering it it worked in the BMW. I usually say “hey Mercedes, navigate to what three words” and then the destination words.
Hi anyone confirm that the sport i4 with tech pack comes with parking assistant? ie it parks itself.
Also does it have something called reversing assistance where it can reverse back the route you just drove if selected
So apparently you can change the wake up command for the voice controls, so rather than saying “ok bmw” you can make it what you want. So is anyone going to change it and what to?
im considering HAL from 2001 space odyssey
or ORAC from Blake’s 7
haha
I’m due to pick mine up middle of this month, must admit I’m both nervous and excited. Nervous because I’ve always driven mid sized hatchbacks, A class merc currently and this will be by far the longest car I’ve driven, also nervous about charging it. I’ve got a home charger and joined the Ohme / octopus intelligence Facebook group and obviously only people post their problems but it weirdly does seem less than plain sailing for a lot of folks
Is your housing association happy for you to have the charger but just not willing to put in writing that that space is solely for your use? That’s pretty much where I was at with mine. My housing officer from the HA came out and spoke to the surveyor on the day and said to him that’s his space we just can’t put it in writing so I don’t know if that also carried weight, maybe you could see if you could get a rep out from your HA on survey day to argue your case. I genuinely think I was lucky tho and fluked it. Fingers crossed for you tho
Hi yes it was , I requested a survey to be done by Ohme and they sent someone out I believe the surveyor must have put the green light on the parking because next thing I knew I was handed over to the installation company and it was never mentioned again. Had the charger in a month now.
I may just have got lucky and it may have been a case of one hand not knowing what the other was doing but I didn’t question it and it went through.
Does it make the car go faster?
