Just test drove the Skoda Enyaq and the showroom person was lovely and helpful. I’ll review it on the everything Enyaq thread but as I mentioned the poor service on here is put in this correction.

Interesting that the electric seats are no where to be found as an extra or even base trim. But yet the sline in the showroom had them. Wonder how you get them?!

I believe it was the black edition only

@amie I wonder if the lead times are better? I’ve been quoted 17 to 22 weeks for the sport.

Heads up: the sline and Quattro twins are going on today, also sportback in sport trim.

            @amie
WOAH Thank you for the heads up. The Quattro ( still no electric adjustable seats) is £300 more on the AP. The ability to say daily ‘fire up the Quattro’ and annoy everyone = priceless!

You’re welcome @ant3 great thread, great car. the electric adjustment is a fairly big deal for me and would have been a deal breaker in any car other that the Q4. I will check out the new Peugeot 3008 electric.

the e3008 looks nice but, its nearly 2s slower than the Audi/Skoda and more akin to the outgoing 40 & 80. I’ll be interested what you think

I’ve just checked and it’s an extra £1000 plus max to add the electric seats on the Peugeot but I’m going to cancel my ID4 test drive and look at the 3008 instead. Enyaq test drive today.

All metallic colours should be free. Mine is mythos black and I didn’t pay extra for it. The only colour which isn’t free is the special purple one.

thanks for this @masky I didn’t think it sounded right so I asked them to double check before I order next week. I particularly liked it in white. I’m still mulling about the lack of electric adjustments on the seats. It’s the only negative ( for me) but it’s quite a big one.

I’ve got an 5 series m sport tourer 140k on the clock, ( obviously not on motability) pricy for parts when anything goes but it’s a great car. I’ve kept it long past any other car I’ve owned as it just keeps going and feels large and safe and well built. Conversely when this awfulness initially descended on me and I’d become disabled I’d just taken delivery of a 3 series sport tourer which was so uncomfortable and painful to drive I swapped it for a Prius.

Just had a test drive in Q4 etron will bullet point my thoughts in case it helps

                      positives

                      • it was comfortable heated seats were fantastic lots hotter than my current outlander
                      • the drive was comfortable and smooth and the big wheels absorbed the bumps in a country lane with ease
                      • the side mirrors are huge and give great visibility
                      • took me seconds to learn how to navigate around the dashboard information systems they were very intuitive to follow
                      • the maps and apple car play were excellent displaying on the iPad type screen and also in the driver display behind the steering wheel
                      • the steering wheel in the model we can order is the round version not the squared off version
                      • the boot is electric controlled from both the key fob and the button on the boot
                      • boot was large slightly squared off roof which loses some space but I guess that increase efficiency
                      • I was getting 3 kWh per mile around town and on dual carriageway which considering I was probably a bit heavy on the acceleration and braking while I got used to it I thought was great
                      • the navigation system automatically tells you if the journey you’re doing needs you to charge and gives suggested charging points along the route in real time. It also adjusts your journey arrival time to include charging
                      • Adaptive cruise control, lane assist auto wipers auto regenerative braking
                      • pretty nice sound system especially as the car being electric is so quiet so it’s not competing
                      • the staff were all superb with me

                      negatives

                      • the front seats although fully leather, lumbar supported and heated were manual adjusted and there’s no option to have electric adjusted fitted
                      • the rear window was not as large and clear as I’d prefer but I soon got used to it
                      • the seating position is slightly lower and more difficult for me to get into compared to my giant PHEV I have at the minute but I have to accept that this will be the case with any electric SUV I switch too
                      • I was told only the pebble grey colour was available for free which I quite liked so didn’t bother me but might bother some
                      • 17/22 weeks delivery

All in all a beautiful car and I think looking back at my car history ( Audi a3, 3 different Mercedes Benz c classes, a bmw m5 sport and a Land Rover freelander ) I probably have to accept that for whatever reason marque matters to me. I cannot see why I won’t be ordering it next Saturday.

Test driving the Q4 today, Ioniq 5 and Enyaq (giving them a second chance) tomorrow. I wouldn’t normally do two in one day too exhausting but the dealerships are adjacent. Id4 Monday but I may cancel that as I’m particularly bad at the minute ( also a good time to test car comfort when bad so we will see)

I was mainly put off by the awful attitude in the ŠKODA dealership. I completely understand that other ŠKODA dealers are probably great but Audi made me feel normal and ŠKODA I felt like an unwelcome intrusion. And I don’t want to drive miles to a different town for servicing just because they’re not nice locally. Perhaps unusually in my household it’s me ( the wife) who has always been car obsessed and my husband doesn’t care as long as he fits in it and can see out ( he’s 6ft7). But I could not get the ŠKODA salesman to address me or answer my questions he kept redirecting to my husband. This is MY car. It’s MY lifeline and I don’t think  the physically able always get that.

Hi my PIP is due for renewal March 2024 and the window to order my new car opens 10th February (lease ends May 2024)…

I believe you only have to fulfill the “12 months left on your award” rule on your initial or first lease. I am in a similar situation, well under 12 months remaining, reassessment forms sent in, but with no updates at all, and have just ordered a new car myself. I started my application online via the motability account and it did take overnight for them to confirm my eligibility but then went through without issues.

just to confirm I have one month left on my PIP. Window opens to order new motability car 10th February. I’ve spoken to both DWP and Motability and I’m allowed to still order my car as the delay isn’t my fault it’s the huge backlogs DWP are having to deal with.

I really wanted the mustang because I do do a long motorway stretch in their allowed driverless car stretch on the m1. And it would mean a huge amount to me to be able to do that independently again instead if getting trains as I do now. But I could not justify either the A P or the extra charge to do driverless. Surely disabled drivers are key to trialling driverless tech?

I’m test driving this on Friday and ordering any colour any plate I don’t care once my window opens 10th February UNLESS the AP increase ( I cannot see it going lower) or it hurts me (I am slightly concerned about the sports seats) but it felt amazing to sit in. I only wanted a) electric b) safe c) heated leather seats and if possible adaptive cruise control and it has all of that and it’s sexy. Win / win.

The franchise of dealership, makes a difference, I have two VW near me both 20-30 mins drive in opposite directions, one where I had my last VW from was awful customer service, yet their Audi garage (part of same group) couldn’t be more welcoming, the dealership in the opposite direction however was VW Skoda and they couldn’t have been more welcoming, no VW Motability accredited staff in so the Boss of the dealership brought one over from Skoda to VW to place my order for a Golf. He’s updated me monthly and honestly can’t fault them. It definitely varies.

I think the only way to get change for the better is if we list our experiences in one place so we can choose . But that would be cluttered and difficult in a forum thread. We need a click on map.

Yeah i would’ve handed the car back the problem is i’m waiting on my PIP renewal so i can’t order another car until that’s sorted. Thankfully Motability have told me i can claim my money back for the period my car is unusable.

I thought if we were already on the scheme the less than 12 months rule didn’t apply? That’s what others have said ? My window opens 10th Feb but dwp have been @&£&@&£ing about with my form since last July. As spinal cords don’t yet regenerate I’m not sure what else I can do to show I’m still eligible ?‍♀️

Contacted by a different Volkswagen dealership who couldn’t have been more different than the OG one. Test drive for ID 4 booked. I’ll try and do a resume of the cars from a female purchaser point of view in case it helps others.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I’m still undecided on what to choose but I’m edging towards the Hyundai at the moment, it’s just a shame the colour choice is a bit bland.

that might be because the rest of it is so funky they need to hold something back it we all get TOO spoilt 🙂 it’s a seriously futuristic car. All it needed was gull wing doors and you could believe it was a Time Machine. I’m looking forward to test driving it.

The ioniq has 5 star Euro NCAP rating like the others. The Enyak is much better than the ID4 IMO ?

I know I know !! It’s completely irrational. It looks amazing, reminds me of a beefed up Delorean in back to the future.

It seems my childish email response to Volkswagen reached their head office. They’re looking into it and in the meantime are asking a different dealership to contact me.

ID4 back on my very short shortlist which might mean I don’t test drive the ioniq as I’m already worrying it’s not as sturdy as the others ( madness I know but life changing car crashes tend to focus the mind on safety).

To be fair – Mr KJ drives like a granny. Our Mitsubishi outlander has a reward pictorial giving you a green leaf on the dashboard for how economical you drive. He’s obsessed with getting the maximum 5 ( a sort of big tick, gold star, here’s a lollipop award). It’s EVERY trip. So I do think we will end up being THAT annoying family maxing out range ?

@mishmash will do. It was just the range issue. It looks lovely. One of my favourite previous cars was a Prius.

I found the seats in the BZ4x to be the most comfortable and it was a lovely drive, I preferred it to the Enyaq and they treated me better. Also delivery was only 3 weeks. So far it’s been great and now it’s not -1 outside I’m seeing over 200 miles which will increase when it gets warmer.

it’s the range people are reporting that’s put me off the Toyota. I know none of them do the stated range but it did seem a little low. It looks a great car though.

I only need max 50 mile journeys most of the time but I do do an occasional 250 round trip.
