October 3, 2025 at 12:31 pm in reply to: Just ordered a Hyundai Ioniq 6 £250 off and a free V2L charger. #314905I’ve done my I6 using soft99 the other week. They also do a spray for the mirrors and cameras which works a treat.
Can’t recommend it enough, I was driving on the motorway when it was lashing it down without the wipers on. Mental.
fyi Euro car parts sells it.
It feels like Motability is being hit by the same “greedflation” that’s affecting so many other sectors in the UK.
Despite holding billions in reserves, the scheme is pushing up advance payments and reducing choice. Because Motability operates as a monopoly, there’s no real competition to keep prices in check. On top of that, past reports have highlighted high executive pay and very large reserves, which makes it harder to accept why disabled customers are being squeezed while affordable car options shrink.
The official explanations (EV transition, insurance hikes, used car values) are valid, but the scale of the quarterly increases suggests the scheme is protecting margins first and customers second.
It’s been bad before, but this might be the worst I’ve seen it. Low, overpriced, choice.
When booking be really specific with what you need. I’m currently in a 60k mile C Class with shoddy brakes and spent the past 6 days trying to get changed into an EV.
Best offer was a manual petrol Vauxhall Mokka.

Not sure if you’ve seen it yet, but there’s an option on the sat nav of ‘prefer motorway’ which should stop you from going cross country lol
Yeah don’t fancy that. I’ll let you know what the dealership says when it goes in.
Also the latest software update means the buttons for the passenger seat heating and ventilation often dissappear from the climate screen.
Have you been in to see about this issue Rhodgie? Mines is in next Monday some folk saying on another forum it needs a new control unit.

Honestly, that dealership are hopeless. Is it worth phoning about to see if Parks in EK have anything or you happy to wait?

James and the service staff are beyond hopeless.
You’ll be happy with the car though loads of kit as standard.
Might be worth signing up for the Tesla subscription until you get your home install. There’s an open to all charging station just up from the Douglas Park BMW.
Who know’s but I’d like to think so. The best part about the face-lift? Buttons!!!
It’s been nothing short of a sh*t show, Rene. It was it accepted that it was a manufacturing fault and replaced, but it didn’t come without a fight.
I’ve had a few days to think about it and I’m still pretty angry! Good thing I have her on a call recording stumbling her way through questions when challenged which indicates she done nothing to check who damaged the wheel. Just hope it’s not Arnold Clark correcting their own homework with head office involved.
The steering wheel damage is caused by a zip, got similar on my Soul when I first got out (zip on my jacket left hand pocket was open) Never done this with any other cars, it’s the weird plastic the steering wheel is coated in, it’s very fragile.
Never thought of a zip. I was thinking ring, watch, or hoover (valet). Never had it on any other car either.
well, after months AC finally admitted it was a manufacturing fault and its been a four month calamity ever since. They only ordered half the parts and the second time it went back in it came out with even more damage. Took them three weeks to check security cameras to say it wasn’t them. When I challenged the service manager she couldn’t even tell me where the car was parked on my arrival. Had to go to their head office.

I found this lot to be cowboys. Missed appointments, after missed appointments. Had to speak to mobility in the end for a different contractor.
I’ve heard folk wait months, Shaine. It might be worth reaching out to Enterprise my I6 was in for a bit and they gave me a GLC that was on deaths door. I asked for a saloon and they gave me an E-Class. I think they get mixed up with the I5 and I6 class as a Tucson and GLC are nothing like our cars.
Been reading a lot about ICCU just praying it doesn’t happen as my local dealer is hopeless. Can I ask what year your car was?
Volvo V60 looks good if anyone needs a big estate.
December 17, 2024 at 12:54 pm in reply to: Skoda Kodiaq PHEV – battery and vehicle update concerns #295091Sorry to hear you are having car issues. Re the hire car I was in a Merc GLC that was on deaths door. I called Enterprise and said my cars going to be in for a bit longer than expected and this car isn’t suitable. Ended up in a E Class. Could be worth a quick call if you get time. Cheers.
I’ve got no rear wiper on the Ioniq 6, so I sealed the windows with Glaco which I highly recommend for the winter months. The rain just beads off all the windows (and sunroof) now. Cheapest I found was Euro car parts
Is there another Hyundai dealership you could take it or is you car in dcks at your current dealer?
When speaking to the service manager again, its not too late to throw in a remark ” I take it you don’t sell cars in the likes Norway or Canada, if they aren’t capable of driving in the snow, due to such a poor design” You can also use something along these lines, if you have to make a complaint to Hyundai UK.
If all else fails, you can look up breaker’s of nearly new cars and see if they have the part and either fit it yourself or get a local backstreet garage do it.
Might give another branch a call bit of a trek, but if they are accommodating could be worth it.
If it comes to it and it’s just the clips that are broken I’ll buy them from parts and jump under.
Still waiting on my callback that I don’t think I’m getting
“The car shouldn’t be driven in adverse weather like snow”. Wish I was quick enough to say Norway like you guys said.
