This thread took me back to 1986 when I owned a 2yr old black mini mayfair
I did question myself after sitting in it and catching my fingers in the seat adjustments quickly followed by a painful blow to the funny bone when swinging my arm to lean out of the window
Torrential rain caused the engine to die whilst hurtling down the M4 in the fast lane ( v scary)
Quickly recovered
I then went onto have many miles of fun in my little pride and joy
Quite aware but my point remains
Mixing tyre makes do affect the cars set up and performance
And this may well I suspect reduce the economy of all vehicles
When you have a puncture time is not on your side
The reality is you will get what they have or may have to wait a few days for your repair
Word to the wise.
Puncture at home/away/Then simply call out the RAC
They took my wheel off took it to Kwik Fit
New tyre back on car 90mins total
The bad bit is I now have 3 different makes of tyre on the car and now steers/drives like sxit
I wonder how electric cars will perform/economy once stock tyres have be replaced with what ever brand Kwik Fit choose to fit
Give them a ring and ask for an explanation
Looking at the Renault Megane e-Tech
I can see that a reduction was justified and I expect it to level out at £2300
Well that’s my plan A
Nissan E power out the window
Also plan B
E 2008
Plan C
T roc now being updated may need a plan D
Can confirm all MG Trophy’s in orange will have a longer delivery window than other colours
Omg. I’ve just tried to cancel my trophy and been told there’s a £500 cancellation fee! Which apparently they’re doing me a favour because it should be £1500. Both plus VAT. I’m furious!
Name and shame the dealer imo
Footnote: The Trophy AP (Ive been informed will drop by£400 in a few days ( 2nd quarter)
Been car browsing today since Vauxhall have peed me off. Nissan Qashqai, very busy in there so only managed to get one question out of them. How long? “Max 6 months but likely to be sooner”. Mazda CX-5, virtually empty so as soon as i stepped foot in there i got ambushed lol. Motability “expert” wasn’t in but the dealer was very helpful. Even went and got the demonstrator car and drove it to the front. Got told if i really want one now and didn’t mind the colour (it was Gray) he said one had been cancelled and i could have that within a week. If not a factory order would be May/June. Ford Focus, another empty dealership (people must love Nissan). Motability woman was free, showed me around. Excellent service. Availability, June/July for factory order. Even faster if you don’t mind what colour as they have plenty of stock. 100% cancelling my Astra order now, just got to decide between those 3 cars.
Having test driven the E-Power Qashqai and having owned/leased over 30+ cars over the yrs.
I decided without hesitation that this is the car for me
The drive quality/safety features/tech/looks/ won me over and will soon be ordering the mid range model in the very near future
Suggest you ring and at least book a test drive

My Supplying Local Vauxhall dealer is so dire
I travelled 13 miles to the next nearest Vauxhall dealer for a minor inspection
Should have saved my fuel as found the same slapdash couldn’t careless attitude from all 3 grinning males sat behind the booking in desk
Unlike the friendly switched on guys in my local Nissan and Peugeot dealers
So there is hope after all
p/s Seat was just as dire a few yrs ago
I hear that the Orange MG4 in particular has a longer wait time
Looks like the E Power is in great demand
On a positive note the Qashqai e power has one of the shortest lead times
Very nice
I wouldn’t hesitate to keep that for 5yrs
Please keep up ownership updates
ENJOY
Fingers crossed
UPDATE as just been informed this morning that the long range trophy’s AP next quarter will be £1999 a drop of £400 from the current AP
Dealer wants to process my order now even though I am not officially allowed to order until 2nd week in April at the earliest
Not a concern as yet unknown to this MG dealer at this point Nissan Qashqai e-power is my present No1 choice until seeing what next quarter might bring across the board
I always thought that the present AP for this model was overinflated and feel that a AP of £1700 would sit better for this particular model and brand
Lets hope that this is a trend across industry
