Heathrow serves a bigger population of 8 million than Chicago O’hare, which serves 2 millio, but O’hare has 8 runways and Heathrow only has 2. On that account shouldn’t Heathrow have more than 2? As for Khan, he’s just a full time hypocrite, just as our Ed is full time idiot! That said, not ven sarcasim will get me have a heatpump, in this olde house of mine.

    I suspect you are correct

But remember Chicago O’Hare International Airport has eight runways that are utilized at different times depending primarily upon the prevailing wind conditions on the airfield, as well as other weather conditions, airfield conditions, and air traffic conditions.

    My point being

Joe Public is now expected to drive electric but still expected to sort out the planes/ships accumalated ever growing carbon foot print tab

A plane takes off or lands at Heathrow every 45 seconds now. I don’t get your point.

    tongue in cheek remark

3rd new runway to go ahead = more planes = bigger carbon foot print was my point which we are expected to off set

You can find out what excess you need to pay for insurance claims in your lease terms and conditions.

I suspect its less than the GCB

If so go ahead with the repair and then claim full GCB at a later date

Only part I don’t like is the stupid sliding shelf “to sit your laptop on”. A conventional centre console with some storage would have been better.

    I agree and to note

The lower trim does not have the stupid sliding shelf

Just shows the 2nd hand EV market is struggling and if you know the right person and want one, you can get one at a bargain.

    eco-cars

    Looking at their web site

I was surprised to see James and Kate in the handover pics

I have followed them both on youtube for quite sometime ……James and Kate – The EV Team

James is a fantastic mobile mechanic and uses the MG5 as a work horse which he loves and shows on their channel (3 weeks ago First MOT at 152,000 Miles and passed)

I have no idea of their past or possible present connection to Eco cars now aka ReFLEX Orkney but I admire his skill and work ethic

I would say your experience although unacceptable imo and experience could be classed as being quite mild.

When you ring a dealer always ask to speak directly with the dedicated motorbility advisor and if not available ask that they contact you back asap

Dealing with the same person can deliver better results imo

I have only had 1 dealer out of 5 that I would consider as being any good

    Seat being the v worse

Problems encountered inc ( to many to list)

Sales/ poor knowledge/Attitude from all/service rubbish/car handover dire and so on

My faith was restored with my first Renault lease

(Over many yrs I have always hated the look of Renault cars that all changed when  the Megan E Tec was born)

    Renault

Smartness/smell of showroom, immaculate attire worn by all/unhurried,unflustered/many @/call keeping me updated, nothing to much trouble

I was given a delivery time frame and just after through a forum I knew that 34 of my model/colour were on route to the UK

I rang my dealer ( Spoke directly to my dedicated motorbility advisor) updated them and asked if they could grab 1 of the 34 for me

Next day a call to say they managed to secure 1 for me.

I could not have had a better experience from start to finish

Just to add to the topic

Renault megan E Tec have a great set up

Park is auto-activated when you either switch off/open drivers door and bum leaves the seat

Auto deactivates simply by pulling away

Button on end of stalk if you wish to activate/deactivate yourself

Great feature as I never have to apply or disengage park

Shoreham auctions is another ex mobility car trade only seller

    One of many

This guys firm will bid/buy a chosen car for you from the auction and deliver it for a competitive fee

Or go along yourself and buy a car thats open to public buyers

Shoeham have a great reputation very detailed/photo descriptions competitive fees ( better than most) and will wash and fully charge all EVs sold

Or simply look at the link and see the price that cars are actually brought for

    Example

Got our Peak Save summary for December. Just by switching usage to a Sunday between 11am-4pm we saved £30.43 in December alone. It really is worth taking part if you have an EV and are a BG customer. This will equate to over £300 for a year. Christmas day and Boxing Day also had Peak Save savings but we didn’t need to charge the car.

Saved £16.50 approx in Dec with the same deal and after a few months £100+ total so far

This BG suits me for now as my miles are only 6000 pa or less then this BG every Sunday 5hr 1/2 price is my only needed weekly 50% top up charge for my full EV car

I have mentioned before and its something to consider imo

My peak usage is high and as a family of 4 imo its not worth me going over to IOG as it would cost me 2p more per kwh ( price can vary by region ) for all our peak usage

As before if a smaller household and or lots of miles then its a different story imo

Even without the BG 5hr 1/2 price Sunday my EV running costs would still be low

I opted for a smart PAYG meter as its now no dearer than having a DD set up

I cant ever be overcharged and I top up my Gas/Elec via comp/phone/portable display and get immediate feedback on any credit I have

    Whats not to like

Thanks des I just find it a bit odd that the manual use of the My Renault app is not mentioned on the app itself or in the online guides and YouTube videos. Its very handy though so not complaining. Ele thanks for the tip,I’ve read in places that the Kelec app can cause problems for some people as it may conflict with the My Renault app,so will do more research about it.

    No conflict here

Thats a new one on me as not ever seen that mentioned

Its been 100% assessable for months unlike the Renault app

    Hope it helps

Best to have another App as a back up

The My Renault app and the Kelec app can be used with the Renault Scenic E-Tech

Recent reports on the Kia EV3

it still can suffer the dreaded Kia 12v battery problem

edit/update the flush door handles freeze solid but I do still like it

The base model has a lot of standard equipment

One Negative to mention is it has a VERY grey plastic interior

Havent seen one up close yet due to being laid up but I aim to do so very soon

I went to order a Motability car today as was borrowing a car but can’t any more but was refused a car because Ive got less than 12 months on my benefits claim but there is no change in my condition as it’s incurable and will only deteriorate my health more what does anyone suggest

As already mentioned above and just to add

The DWP Automated award extending software thats been in use for a few yrs seems to have failed in your case

Conact DWP explain and ask them for an updated letter of award asap

Please let us know how you get on

Enyaq has the same rating so probably going with that but thanks.

Check the Enyak threads, theres a few who have pesky problems

    Yes I see that

According to reviews and user reports, some potential issues with the Skoda Enyaq include: charging system faults causing power cuts, a somewhat “thumpy” ride due to its weight and large wheels, inconsistent touch sensor functionality on door handles, occasional glitches with the infotainment system, and potential range anxiety depending on driving conditions; however, many consider it a reliable car with no major recalls reported overall.

yeah problem is though no car is problem free and you always hear of problems before praise. Renault was good but had a few problems along the way.

Renault usually iron out their main problems aftee the first year of production

    Worth noting imo

The Enyaq  was first made in 2020

Food for thought? but it seems you had already decided

Hope the Enyaq  works out for you
