If anyone is reading these posts and are being put off by the hassle these surveys cause some of us, don’t worry, if you can’t do it or are having trouble doing it, contact Ohme and they’ll send someone out to do the survey for you.

I suspect you would have to jump through all the hoops if you bought a charger privately. It only seems daunting because you don’t do it very often. Just do it step by step, it isn’t that complicated.
My experience is very postive with Motability and at the moment, the home charger is free (to a certain extent).

January 20, 2025 at 10:19 pm #296437It’s rapidly becoming a nightmare ohme have ignored what I told them on survey asked for info i have given them already and seen dead set on just not bothering to reply to emails…. Also asked me to fill in electric vehicle grant application …. With I can’t complete as I don’t have registration of car….. now the want to dig trenches erect something for charger to be mounted on and obviously at extra cost to me Can see me cancelling car order
January 31, 2025 at 3:44 pm #296844Out of interest, how much have they quoted you to do the ground work?

Not really mate. For example After a call, I go out to do a quick assessment and discusion with customer, which invoves a choice of chargers and email a quote the same or next day. No different to getting a quote for a new boiler, double glazing etc.

You do not have to agree to the grant if you chhose not to, as it won’t benifit you financially. I also expect the grant is going in Ohmes pocket rather than back to Motabilty, given they are the ones paying a set price across the board to Ohme.
Where is your charger going in relation to your house/electric meter?
January 31, 2025 at 4:51 pm #296849On wall outside electric box etc on opposite side….literally through wall so cable down from charger through wall directly into electric make 4-5 foot cabling max

Ask for someone to do a survey, as sounds like there’s some confusion in the office!
February 1, 2025 at 4:12 pm #296892After much back and forth etc etc and name 3 wells ohme have finally accepted application and a waiting for installation company to call or email work time to come and fit charger ….as long as they don’t find issues now lol
