Just a potential heads up for anyone thinking about ordering. I placed my order on Saturday 5th November and was quoted 16 weeks for my Trophy Long Range. That would take me up to Saturday 25th February ready for a collection on 2nd March.
Chatting to the dealer yesterday, there’s no update information on the system but he says there’s no delay showing either.
I pointed out that it’s 11 weeks today, leaving 5 weeks of the 16 quoted. If the car was built and leaving on the boat today, the journey time is estimated at 4 weeks. For some reason it’s apparently then taking another 3.5 weeks to get to the dealer so 7.5 weeks in total meaning the car would be 2.5 weeks late. As there’s no information showing on the system that must mean that’s there’s no build date even allocated at this point so I have no idea as to when I will get the car.
It’s not the end of the world and I know others have been waiting for vastly longer periods. Obviously MG have been inundated with orders which has an obvious effect on delivery timescales.
I, like us all, would just like an accurate and truthful estimated delivery date. Tbh, I think that usually the dealers are as much in the dark as we are. Hope this is useful info for anyone considering an MG4 EV and I will update this thread as I hear anything.

Went to the dealers today (14/3) and had a chat with the sales manager. There is a definite issue with getting Volcano Orange MG4’s. He showed me on the system where VO cars are showing as “shortage” – nothing else. Apparently prior to this it was saying TBA, so neither status helpful in any way, both for dealer and client. Nobody knows when these cars will come through. He thought probably 2 to 3 months at a guess.
He had about a half dozen brand new MG4’s on site in white, red, grey and blue. Some of these are available for sale but all of them are pre-registered. Apparently MG will not let them have cars for stock. Unfortunately, as you probably know, Motability will not allow us to have a pre-registered car so I can’t change to any of these available cars ?. If I was a retail customer I could potentially have been able to purchase one on the spot.

Omg. I’ve just tried to cancel my trophy and been told there’s a £500 cancellation fee! Which apparently they’re doing me a favour because it should be £1500. Both plus VAT. I’m furious!

Assuming this a Motability order you don’t have to pay anything. If you have already paid you are entitled to your money back. If this is the Motability Specialist telling you this report him to Motability. If it’s another salesman report him to the dealer principal. See Glos Guy’s post today on the same subject.

Footnote: The Trophy AP (Ive been informed will drop by£400 in a few days ( 2nd quarter)
I’ve ordered a trophy two weeks ago. Unfortunately there is no confirmation on how long delivery will take.
Anybody got a trophy and knows how long it took from order to delivery?
I ordered a month ago and was told 6 months, but could be sooner ??♀️ the dealer told me there is no system in place to be able to track orders, so won’t know anything until the car arrives,

just had an update on my order from the dealer, car is due in at port today or tomorrow so hopefully it will arrive at the dealership by they end of the month ??

I do like the Trophy and a short order- delivery time is excellent news.
I was looking at the Quashquai, but the AP is high for this quater….maybe next quarter.
But gonna see what happens with Trophy times….it does look like an excellent car.
I was stunned when the dealer told me,
and he changed my AP (£2399) to this quarters price £1999 and then took off the government New Vehicle Payment of £750 so I’ll pay £1249 when I pick it up
fingers crossed the car isn’t stuck at the docks for months lol
Hi all, my MG4 Trophy was ordered in Nov for Feb delivery. I’m now being told June! Not impressed so far and thinking about cancelling the order. Will chase again but not hopeful.
I ordered a MG4 LR yesterday and was advised of a sixteen week wait.

I think your dealer is being very optimistic there. I would suggest 20 to 26 weeks is more accurate but will be very happy to be proven wrong.

I ordered a trophy long range ZS 2021 with a 16 week quoted turnaround which ended up being 12 months and still no news of the car. Ended up just going for a petrol model as the battery models were facing a year+ delay.
Was hoping the delays would be sorted by next year when it’s time for a new car but this thread is giving me the opposite impression. 🙁
Picked up my MG4 Trophy today, absolutely love it ?, the whole process took just over 2 months
