Personally speaking, I’ve had 4 from mb, as a direct result of the black box it’s my last.

Yes tesla take telemetry from the vehicle, so do many others also.

However the telemetry taken by the manufacturers is for the vehicle maintenance,  handling, efficiency and wear and tear.  It’s not officially to spy on you, to much big brother for me.

Am I missing something here, they continually state those on current vehicle leases are not effected by the changes until renewal time.

So now your saying, from mb ops, the new milage starts now for all?

This is getting out of hand with some dealerships, the motability contract does not start until you enter the pin, no matter what the dealership says.

As for dealerships wanting a down payment, this is just nonsense,  they get payed when you collect the car at the same time you enter the pin.

It’s about time we start standing up for this system, it really is robust in our favour.

The biggest way to prove it is walk away from the dealerships who try it on to the ones that understand the rules and do play by the rules.

Sometimes we’re our worst enemy,  we have this forum to create a good and not so good dealerships chart,

The government is strangling the life out of the system

All i can do is give my real world experience,  I make a number of 800km trips each year, each time I save over £50 on fuel. Like for like car, x1 diesel to ix1 ev. So each way im saving £50+. Probably more now due to feel increases.

So it’s a no brainer to me and most right minded folk

              Happy motoring

Eee and there’s me thinking the opposite, Amsterdam to southern france is a nice quiet drive with a ev. There is no range anxiety as there’s loads of charging stations, even doing the arch enemy of charging, good old Elon, it’s so easy and the cheapest by the way.

The road tax mileage charging is just a squeeze by hmg to get more money into there coffers

One thing I notice is when it comes to everyone else they say we can’t have nice cars, Mercedes audi bmw but they can have rollers, Daimler, jaguars and fleets of range rovers

Just a thought, for those able to order now, why not do so.

When q1,2026 arrives simply cancel and reorder.

If you have a bump and decide to go down the insurance line then really the very last thing you should do is talk to anyone outside your insurance company and your solicitors.

They should be dealing with it all. Any callers should firmly be instructed to speak to them and hang up.

Started using tesla on our first trip to france, and yes you have to charge at least twice a month on a tesla supercharger to make it work. However on the long trip. Holland, Belgium and france we go tesla to tesla and on average save £50 one way on the trip compared to our old diesel.

As for savings against other charge operators well we paid as little as 23cents per kw in Holland and on average 32cents per kw in france.

                      Distance travelling is roughly 800km.

So it’s a no brainer, mugs pay the other charges. 70 _ 90+ cents a kw on other charge operators.

But you will always get the ones who say why pay the €8.99/ £9.99 for membership when you don’t have to pay any membership for the others.

Let em be i say, just keep getting cheaper recharge and laugh all the way to the bank.

Hi, as others have said its always better to walk in on your feet, rather than letting your fingers do the walking, if for no other reason than letting them see a big fat commission walk out the door.

Now as for deals, I found this on the www. It’s a starting point

Mellons Bangor: Offers up to £250 Motability Advance Payment Contribution / Cashback for Hyundai Models.

As for you ordering the car, once ordered mb ops will swap your vehicles over as soon as the new one is ready. Be that sooner or later than your hand back date.

Please check with mb ops, I’ve always found them really helpful

perhaps you could argue that such a change in the car renders it unsuitable for your needs and as this wasn’t stipulated in the initial lease, this now violates the terms of your agreement and you wish to cancel the lease.

                            Just a thought

Kind of fortuitous really as we’re on a holiday in our first ev (bmw ix1) we drove from Amsterdam to southern france and had no problems at all, except an over entitled tesla driver, sharp put back in the box.

Stopped off to recharge both the car and ourselves a few times and no problems charging at all.

Range wise we drove until about 10-15% left and stopped at tesla supercharger stations, all programed in and it’s as easy and cheaper than any other companies to use.

                                Hope it helps

Well after a return trip, I have saved £102 total. Against a x1 drive diesel. I did use exclusively tesla supercharger and bought the month subscription.

Really think mb ops could do a better job at obtaining a charge card for us with better rates.

Glos guy is right, either call the mb ops and explain,  they understand and call the garage tell them.

Nothing is enforceable until you put in your pin, that’s the only start of the contract, between you and Motability not the garage.

Good luck with your future choice

Well after collection and an urgent crash course in applied computing we have our trial car, must say I’m impressed,  a car that weighs just shy of 2t, more fully loaded, simply floats along, cornering is a breeze, no lolling from side to side and it stops on a sixpence.

The cost is just surprising,  traveled nearly 900 km and courtesy of tesla supercharger the cost was less than half my x1 diesel. Best £9.99 I’ve spent.

I find it ridiculous that if you can pay 7-8k for an AP do you really need a Motability car? You can obviously afford to buy a car yourself.

Ah but I’m not paying 7-8k in fact less than half that, besides what has my ability to pay the ap got to do with my entitlement to motability,  a big fat zero.

Well after much saving and tightening of belts, we managed to cobble together the AP for the ix1 and Monday is the day…

Much anticipated trial and hopefully the maths will hold up, £100 less cost of return trips, made every 3 months.

Sadly disappointed by mb ops that with all there purchasing power they can not come up with a better deal for us than the Paua card!!

After all the push there doing to ev then perhaps a bigger push on charging would really help.

My question is would any of you feel happy about trusting this dealership again?

I think not, my first point of call would be mb ops, from home after telling the garage to stick the car.

I mean, extended wait time by 42 weeks. Topping it off its the wrong car I mean did no one check it on ordering.

There are somethings you can’t accept this being one of them!
