With Q3 upon us and the negotiation team finalising pricing, keep your ear to the ground, push dealers for info etc, a lot of dealers will be having meetings and discussions and the revised prices pinged to their inboxes, and some updating their websites before the 1st, it won’t be our usual heads up but let’s see what we can find out.
Good Luck

2.0 Mini Countryman gone. That was top of my list. In fact no Countryman at all. And no diesel Mini’s at all?!
Noticed this. They have just facelifted the Countryman (love the new sage green paint and blue leather trim), so it may be just a matter of time while they work out the new prices.

JohnI suffer with cervical spondylis so find it difficult Get getinan d out of some cars like the Peugeot 2008 However I had a test drive in the new Honda Jazz Crosstar and it a superb car. However I cannot understand why a £23500 car comes with an advance payment of £999 as there are much more expensive cars like the Hyundai Kona,Nissan leaf.ect,Even the mobility specialist is surprised

BrydoVinnie Mrs brydo is delighted we can choose just now so it’s likely we will. I am delighted as well as she wanted us to choose it when metallic paint was extra.
I have been on to motability for ten years to get the Nissan leaf on the scheme (not suitable for us anymore) and more recently for more BEVs, PHEVs and here we are ready for another three years in a diesel, sad but true.
July 1, 2020 at 7:55 pm #117140On the XC40, there’s a funny thing.
When they made metallic paint a chargeable extra I spoke to motability to see if that metallic would be replaced like for like if there was an insurance write off, or a theft. Motability checked with RSA and confirmed it would not, it would be replaced with solid black in those circumstances.
I dropped an email to volvo customer services to explain the implication of their decision. I never got a response at the time and I’ve no idea if that email had any impact, but it’s good to see that common sense has been brought back into play and metallic included.
I too feel this is the right time to take the XC40 a little further.
Now the next question is whether a discount can be secured on the R Design full leather option
? Hmm

JohnI like the Xc40 only issue is diesel options are expensive and petrol engines are thirsty
July 1, 2020 at 8:04 pm #117144after the initial shock, once you start looking there are actually a number of reductions
July 1, 2020 at 8:25 pm #117146MG ZS EV dropped £500 in price for both models
BMW i3s dropped in price to match the i3 variants
DS3 E-Tense went back up & La Premiere model not on anymore
Yes, even the EVs had some changes.
July 1, 2020 at 8:25 pm #117147Macca, John a duick look today leaves us with only the XC40 as an option, i was looking at the Tiguan earlier this year and it was a great deal, in fact the stand out SUV deal on the scheme. The recent rise changes that but of course things can change.
John it will be down to how many miles you do each year, you would need to do the calculations to see if the diesel is worth it. I just prefer diesels to drive over petrol and we do about 9,000 miles a year, though not this year, covid restricted.
Macca why do you prefer the R-Design?

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.July 1, 2020 at 8:36 pm #117149We checked out an Inscription, it was black with a blond interior. Very nice for sure but not mad keen on the wheels, colour choices or pale headliner.
We then checked out an R Design Pro Auto. It was in the colour we like, Fusion Red, which looked superb in the flesh. It had the 20’s too so the test drive was to see how it rode on those, and it was bliss. The one I drove was a diesel but it was very refined. The charcoal headlining was much better for my ropey light sensitive eyes, the only bit I wasn’t massively keen on was the half nubuck seats, but you can now get a full leather upgrade, if the price is right that is ?
July 1, 2020 at 8:48 pm #117152Please can this thread be changed to “pi$$ and Moan about q3” as it is rather confusing I have had to trawl through so much rubbish and arguments that I missed a lot of what actually happened today. I actually gave up and just waited until now to look on motability website.
This thread was a nice idea but taken over by people wanting to vent.
I wonder how many people who actually use Motability as there only lifeline to be mobile and get out trully feel there let down by Motability.
I also fully expect this post to get all barrels from a few, picking at any minute peice to make them feel better.
July 1, 2020 at 8:57 pm #117154SJM01, as you’ve just shown, a rant doesn’t do any harm and it can in fact be cathartic lol.
If you just accept we are all different with different needs requirements and points of view you will find it easier to read the posts you dont agree with.
Remember we are discussing a company not a member of your, or anyones elses, family.

AdeIts not about passh and moan, there is a lot of discussion and information about pricing and add ons which makes it one of the more informative post lately.
Just because there is no value according to your taste, then dont moan about it. Just give the post a wide berth.
After the MB GLA being removed the XC40 is my second choice, followed by the 2008 and 3008. Choices, choices…its terrible…lol..July 1, 2020 at 9:09 pm #117162
JohnBrydo i do about 15k a year so always gone for a diesel.
Macca is the inscription pro better equipped than the r design pro in XC40?
July 1, 2020 at 9:10 pm #117163
JohnI do think the 3008 gt line is probably the best value on the scheme at the moment.
July 1, 2020 at 9:12 pm #117164@ John
There’s not a lot in it, the new XC40 brochure is particularly unhelpful listing different trim specs, just lots of arty photos. The website is even worse as it concentrates on the new hybrid versions.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
July 1, 2020 at 9:15 pm #117165You can check out the specs here :

The R Design Pro gives us more of what we want / like. Each to their own really.
July 1, 2020 at 9:16 pm #117166
GaryWe feel a bit let down. We are looking to upgrade (January is our change date) We need a big boot to fit the powerchair in (Pride Fusion recliner). Currently drive a Galaxy, and for less spec we will be paying more.
We were looking for a more SUV type car this time round and was just organising visits to see if the ramps/chair would work with them. Everything we thought we may be able to use has shot up massively in price, so we have a few extra months to see if I can find a grand+
July 1, 2020 at 9:21 pm #117167HAHA that didnt take long

As I said which you both missed Brydo and Elliot
“Please can this thread be changed to “pi$$ and Moan about q3” as it is rather confusing I have had to trawl through so much rubbish and arguments that I missed a lot of what actually happened today.”
You can have different opinions no problem with that but why take over a thread that is trying to give information
As you say “If you just accept we are all different with different needs requirements and points of view you will find it easier to read the posts you dont agree with.”
you will find it easier to read the posts you dont agree with. Again missing the point, I do not want to read why you think Motability are ripping you off, or your garage is useless, or mrs jones next door has a cat with wind.
I wanted to read the developments about Q3.
My origional post was actually directed towards the MODS as they could have put a stop to all this by creating a new thread for Q3 moans and telling people to post there.
I will not be the only person who looks at a thread called Q3 pricing and Info July 2020 and be upset when I have to pass pages and pages of moaning and arguments just to hopefully find the post showing the new prices for manufacterer X to see if car Y is still on or gone up or down. Knowing by past experience motability web site will be overloaded and wont see anything until early evening.
July 1, 2020 at 9:23 pm #117168John I THINK the Inscription Pro is the best equiped
Have a look.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.July 1, 2020 at 10:16 pm #117177@sjm01 I think this page on the main site may help. It marshalls the manufacturer price lists together.
@John. Brydo is right in that the Inscription Pro is the top spec and includes electric seats. If sun rear tints was part of the spec as well (it’s £350), it would tick every box for me.This page is part of the configurator and compares the specs brilliantly.
Just tick the RDesign and the Inscription Pro and you see all the differences. If you tick the button at the top of the page, you can switch between differences and the wholes spec.

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
