With Q3 upon us and the negotiation team finalising pricing, keep your ear to the ground, push dealers for info etc, a lot of dealers will be having meetings and discussions and the revised prices pinged to their inboxes, and some updating their websites before the 1st, it won’t be our usual heads up but let’s see what we can find out.
Good Luck

Lord MucThe stand out deal so far, has got to be the BMW GC Msport, at £1749, down from 2k. wonder if dealers will do a further discount. The two deal ere s I have been to have been ghost towns, one by appointment only, and they were rare as hens teeth, the other walk in, but all cars locked unless asked to see, only one other family in, servicing looked quiet as well. Salesman just passed a brochure over, never saw him again, I was told only 2 in, same as mini next door, only skeleton staff, so the rest must be on furlough.

gillanIsn’t that the point of motability that you shouldn’t have to compromise. You should be able to get a car which you need.
Over priced or high priced vehicles because they are autos/estates/vans /electric seats or electric powered.
Who is helping who?
July 1, 2020 at 3:25 pm #117042I’ve been saying for ages that we are being ripped off but got pelted for even suggesting it.
Private leasing prices are coming down, new car prices are lower than pre covid.
Motability will be getting these cars cheaper than before lockdown.
It’s obvious what’s going on.

“Isn’t that the point of motability that you shouldn’t have to compromise. You should be able to get a car which you need.”
Life for everyone is full of compromises, and choosing a car through Motability or any another route is a case in point. Yes you should be able to get a car to suit disabilities etc but you don’t “need” it to look good, a small compromise in the scheme of things.
July 1, 2020 at 3:31 pm #117044I’m with you gillan, who wants to drive a car that looks as ugly as sin especially as it’s not free.
July 1, 2020 at 3:33 pm #117045
gillanHow does a car make you look good? Ridiculous.
July 1, 2020 at 3:35 pm #117047incoming price list is very close
July 1, 2020 at 3:36 pm #117048
gillanExactly Elliot. We had enough of that cr@p when all we could have was one of those stupid three wheel blue things.
July 1, 2020 at 3:44 pm #117051“How does a car make you look good?”
Who said that?
Many don’t need a car that looks good, just one that makes their life easier.
Nobody wants to drive a car that’s ugly as sin but surely all other considerations come first – if not the you are indeed fortunate.
July 1, 2020 at 3:57 pm #117052I think we get your drift Smallcar.

Lord MucElliot spot on, it’s a disgrace the excessive price hikes. How motobility even consider it’s acceptable, is a mystery, you can’t order for 3 months, and I should imagine, most on here would value their health, so not too keen, to visit dealers, let alone the economic issues, brands are desperate to kick start sales, and they have let the on-line brokers walk all over them.
July 1, 2020 at 4:11 pm #117056The thing is though Lord Muc, they are probably getting the vehicles at these low prices.

FootlooseThe negotiations on Q3 prices most likely took place in Monaco!!££

July 1, 2020 at 4:24 pm #117061Elliot
I am glad you do.
For most people on Motability their main requirement is for relatively stress free motoring in a car that is suitable for their disabilities, budget and other practicalities.
Of course this site attracts those for whom motoring is also a passion, but for the majority of Motability customers advice on the basics is what people are looking for.
For most, if not all Motability customers, there will be a car on the scheme for them at a price that suits if they forget about badge, looks, ultimate performance and other considerations that most customers would consider as trivia.
There are other ways of using PIP if Motability doesn’t suit, but it does for us.

Lord Muc<p style=”text-align: left;”>Elliot, I quick glance on the net, and compared vlads invoice, £4k difference. And motobility paying even less.</p>

paulawe are being taken for mugs
July 1, 2020 at 4:53 pm #117068
John MorrisI certainly don’t think we are being tanken for mugs…. We are getting a 25k car for £250 advance and basically £250 a month that’s fully insured, taxed, tyres included and the only thing we need to pay for is fuel… I don’t feel like a mug. I feel lucky this scheme is in place.
July 1, 2020 at 4:53 pm #117069Just had a phone call from dealership 15.36 I have been told all new Q3 prices are with them NOW , then why is the web site still down? a very bad case of a company (Motability) not giving a damn about it’s customers and all about profit, we are just an inconvenience, it seems, to them . with all those price rises in AP’s maybe it’s time to look elsewhere

MattCompletely in agreement Mr John Morris!
We feel extremely lucky to have access to such a fantastic motoring scheme. I understand others frustrations especially when the rise is so great and unprecedented. However, the fact remains we could not afford to be on the road and take my 7 year old disabled daughter out on fantastic days out and have her included in moments/events with the rest of the family.
Looks expensive today but as a whole I say, God bless motability!
July 1, 2020 at 5:03 pm #117075@John Morris, it depends on which car you are referencing.
There certainly doesn’t seem to be much correlation between the cars on the list.

MikeHi All, I will be new to this scheme, and I have been carryout a bit of research before 1 July.
needless to say, I have been living on these thread over the past few weeks, reading peoples views on cars, advice etc.
I have a question, which relates to the Q3 price hikes.
If I was to go ahead with a purchase (Tiguan All Space) and there is a 3-month delay, this would potentially take me into Q4, would I be able to cancel the order in Q3 (before receiving it) and opt for Q4 if it is cheaper?
I am pretty gutted like most, I had homed in on the car I wanted to take out on the scheme, to then see this price hike. The only thing stopping me make the purchase was the July 1st restrictions.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

John MorrisWe have only been on the scheme since March 2018 when we got a qashqai 1.5dci n-connector with glass roof and wet got that for £0. Unfortunately I aquaplaned on the motorway and wrote that off in March. Since then been in a mokka from europcar hence the urgency to order. As I said we got an ateca fr which is high enough for my partner to get onto and certainly big enough for our 3 young children. The other options we had were the MG HS excite I think… £0 advance and massive plus lots of safety tech and the grandland x which was £0 as well last month. Lol you asked…

I’d assume Motability customers are being used to shift all the built cars not sold during Lockdown
