With Q3 upon us and the negotiation team finalising pricing, keep your ear to the ground, push dealers for info etc, a lot of dealers will be having meetings and discussions and the revised prices pinged to their inboxes, and some updating their websites before the 1st, it won’t be our usual heads up but let’s see what we can find out.

      Good Luck

Hi we have an order placed for an ateca fr 1.5 in white. According to our dealer there are no more left at all. The slightly updated ateca will be available to order eventually but only stock models now and there ain’t many as i said. We got the ateca for 249 with the dealer paying the other 250. I think we did well ordering a few days back.

Some of these prices are shocking, the BMW x1 looks like a great choice now. I ordered mine yesterday thankfully and the Kuga and Tiguan were options but glad I didn’t wait until I could get an appointment for them now. I think motability are trying to push people back into the lower vehicles forgetting some of us need automatic and SUV just to get into them without injury.

my thoughts exactly we wanted the nevada white and the only one he could source was miles away so thats why we ended up with a deal on the 4 drive as they would have to arrange a transporter to collect a 2 wheel drive version

so we ended up with the one we wanted plus 4drive

no Tiguan for me that price is stupid, I might look at Volvo and check the Seat prices when they drop.

There still seems to be a colossal lack of electric options, even now.

John, its clear now motobility, just rolls  with the punches, they actually do no negotiating, it’s to easy. the brands are desperate to get sales, the showrooms are like ghost towns, so a quick way to make a buck is to ramp up the APs, to a captive market, while the on-line brokers and leasing companies, are offering fantastic deals from the brands, motobility will be the next cull after Public health England.

Motability have done absolutely nothing in the last 4 months, they have just sat on their hands, it’s all just to easy for them

I get the feeling the sell on value of these 2l diesels and petrol engines and possibly phev is not good 3 years down the road. As wmc has mentioned this could be a move to electric ,and smaller petrol engines like bmw gran coupe and bmw i3 prices dropping.

Motability’s car search is still down.

I think motability have been running some expected profit margins Projections data mining & all them zero’s from the new AP’s have put there system into meltdown.

                          Tom…

This is ridiculous. I rang motability last week asking for a heads up of new cars/prices for Q3 and he advised me not to worry and to just wait till the 1st of July. Now the price for the Tiguan (the car we were looking to order) has gone up by £1200.

Looks like myself and Oscarmax did well bagging the PHEV at £1699.

@Adam  its a joke if the price if cars don’t change how can the advance payment so drastically over a few month, how can motability customers budget for the car they need when A/P changes especially when a lot of the customers are on benefit and living on a low income

i would seriously suggest to anyone that has put of ordering and their chosen vehicle is still on but gone up to take a note of Q2 VTN. i would push Motability to Honour that price stating although motability site said you could order since 8th june  the dealerships told you not until 1st july. its worth ago for those in that position especially if your at the end of an extention.

I am only due to order beginning of august but may wait until Octobers prices given the increase on Suv’s at the moment

                                          There’s some terrible price rises.

Since becoming disabled in 1985 i had my first motability car and when that lease ran out i always bought my own cars. I went back on the scheme, and it is a right scheme, 2 years ago. I don’t know why i did but i did.

I can’t wait for my lease to end in November. I’ve already started to look for a new replacement. It really is a waste of money. Cars are so reliable now and even pcp is cheaper if you don’t want to own.

I started looking on motorpoint and you can get some real value for money and the cars aren’t even 3 years old. Anyway good luck finding something that suits.

It’s perhaps worth noting that the Outlander PHEV was that sort of money up until Q4 2019. It then dropped significantly to £1699, presumably because it is due to be replaced. What is a surprise is that the AP has returned to its previous level.

I could get a decent car just for the advance payment on the Outlander that would last 3 years and probably be able to sell it 🙁

Hmm. Some serious thinking and trawling to be done now.
For certain, it’s looking like my main options are now at a price which I just cannot justify. Added to this, it’s definitely time to re-visit lease companies.
When I looked before lockdown, some were getting very close for my yearly mileage. (~8k) including insurance and service costs.

To put it into perspective, an AP of £3,000 will mean a total three year term cost of nearly £13,000.
All of our circumstances differ but for some, a initial outlay for a private purchase will be more appetising now and provide some equity after three years. ?

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

Sure, but you still have to keep in perspective that buying an Outlander PHEV on PCP would require a circa £5k deposit and monthly payments of circa £500.

Clearly if you buy a s/h car for £4k today, chances are that if it needs nothing more than routine servicing, you’ll be able to sell it on for perhaps a couple of grand. But you won’t buy a s/h Outlander PHEV for £4k – not even one of the early ones.

Motability are supposed to have negotiated the best deals for us. That’s what they’re paid for. Why would I then, now need to try and squeeze Motability for a favour’.

What’s obvious is that Motability has not done anything in our interests over the past four months even taking into account any furlough scheme that may have been in force.
Very disappointed. So disappointed, in fact, that Autotrader is going to be my go to site for a while. I’m here only for the banter now. ??
